D & J Carpet & Tile

Please read entire story, I can not give direct rating for services, just my experience with this process. I hired this company to paint the exterior of my home, paint on home is still good but faded, home is a 2 story, with vinyl siding. Although the actual square feet of painted surface is low, there is a considerable amount of prep work. After purchasing the Big Deal I called the company and left a message, no return call, already a bit nervous. I tried again in about 10 days and left a message and this time I got a return call in about an hour. At the time the contractor indicated that they had taken on to many Big Deals and it would be 3-4 weeks till I could expect them. This was no problem, the contractor also indicated that it would help if I sent (E-mail) pictures of the exterior of my home so they could get an idea of work needed. I immediately grabbed camera, took pictures and sent them off. About 2 weeks later I got a call from another contractor (won't mention company) and contractor said the first contractor had asked them to cover about 50% of jobs because the were just to busy. I said OK and the contractor said about 4 weeks out and he would need to come by house and inspect the job. This is where the "Deal" broke down, after the inspection the contractor said I would need some new wood around some windows as it was rotted, the amount for wood and replacement was quoted @ $300.00. Now, I keep my house in fairly good shape and have looked @ windows myself and have never seen any rot, but I said "sure" if it needed it. Then he went on to tell me the house needed pressure washed, I told him, house was just pressure washed a month before. He was very insistent about this and at a bargain price of another $300.00. Then he said I would definitely need a second coat of paint at again a bargain price of another $700.00. I said No to power wash and no to second coat of paint and OK to wood replacement if it were rotted. As a side note, not only had house just been power washed, the paint on house is still in good shape, just faded, so the reality is they wanted me to pay for a power wash to save them prep work time and the original "Deal" was for a "Premium" paint that should have been sufficient to cover, even if paint was old and wood was dry. OK, then the contractor said they were busy and it would be another 6 weeks, I said OK, but getting a bit frustrated. Then about 2 weeks later, I get an E-mail from the second contractor saying I must sign the enclosed contracts and return them. Again the "upgrades" were in the contract totaling $1300.00 making the original cost of $1300.00, now $2600.00. Now, if I had an extra $2600.00 to start with, I would have gotten work done already. Now, the contract also told me, I was liable for all costs and there might be "some" damage to property, spelled out what hours they would work and there would be at least 1 person on job that spoke English? To much at this point not only had price doubled but now I was going under a contract and instead of professional painters, I was going to get illegals doing the work? At this point, I contacted Angies and requested a refund, now Angies was awesome and am very happy with how they have been. But the contractor, you be the judge, seems like a scam to me and reflects poorly on original contractor. So work was not preformed and we are starting into fall weather and my house is unpainted, so this Great deal ended up being a bad deal.

Did an excellent job, did not try to sell me on more services, VERY pleased!!!

Randy came out and gave us an estimate before providing services. Great guy to work with and keeps you involved and informed through whole process. We had a very difficult exterior painting job and they refinished/repaired our deck. We also had them shampoo our whole house. All the work done was done with care and to an excellent standard. Great experience all around. We would definitely recommend to others and plan to use them in the future for some remodeling and other jobs.

He has a wide knowledge of various issues with homes. He has also done some touch up painting for us and some outside repair work. He is a perfectionist when it comes to his work. We were very pleased. We will use him again in the future.

Randy answered promptly when I called on a Thursday and was here, arriving a litle early, the next day. Wow! He explained what he needed to do and showed me some test areas. The kitchen floor was so bad they had to scrub it by hand as well as by machine. He told me how to better care for it in the future as well and showed me what product to use. He was very helpful. My floors look like new.

Randy was very responsive and eager to please. As indicated above,he convinced us to spend less than we were planning to spend. We are very satisfied with the work and thrilled that Randy had OUR interest in mind and held the cost to the minimum.

Randy come out promptly and gave us an estimate. We wanted the job done in a fairly quick, tight timeframe and he was willing to accomodate us. He powerwashed it and made some repairs on one day and then came back and stained the deck. He was careful to make sure we were satisfied with the color before proceeding. We were very satisfied.

Owner came out and review our project and made several suggestions which were accepted, Painting team showed up as scheduled and performed outstanding, Owner cam back two days later to review work complete touch ups as promised! We are working with the company to complete additional painting later this year.

Randy worked carpet cleaning of the house I was buying into the schedule so that I could move in with clean carpets with little advance notice. He pretreated the spots and gave me a realistic view of what to expect after cleaning. He had suggestions on what could be done later to give a better appearance without being pushy. He worked around my other contractors which was greatly appreciated by me. He was professional and I was quite satisfied.

Randy is excellent to work with and very professional. I especially liked his carpet cleaning. He is the best I have ever had clean my carpets.

After a telephone discussion of what we wanted done and ballpark estimate, Randy came out the following day, measured, gave us a firm estimate and did the work the same day. We were very pleased with the finished product as the floor looked like new, and also, were so impressed with the professionalism, the promptness and the quality that we have scheduled two other projects with Randy--painting and carpet cleaning. We can see that customer satisfaction is top priority with Randy Jones.

Randy did a great job. His price and were both good. He went out of his way to ensure we knew exactly what he was going to do, how he was going to do it, and when done, did a complete walk through to see if we were happy with it.

Great job. I'm going to use him again.

We called Randy on Monday and he came out that day to do an inspection. He quoted a reasonable cost for doing the 2 showers and we scheduled for him to come out on Friday. He was very friendly and even recommended a specific grout cleaner for our bathroom floor where the grout was discolored and I told him I had no luck getting it to brighten up. Randy came out on Friday and after cleaning the problem areas in the showers, recaulked the edges. He then returned on Saturday to touch up the grout (the shower had to dry for a day before he could do this). The work was done very well and he was very pleasant to work with. He even cleaned my 'problem' floor as a bonus with his special cleaner. All looks wonderful.

A job well done! Good response time when I made my initial call. This was an Angie's List deal (the cleaning; the sealing was extra). He was very conscientious and went above and beyond what I expected, explaining some techniques to make the tile and grout look better longer.

Randy Jones is a very personable and professional hard-working individual. He took time to make small talk even tough it was a Saturday (of Easter weekend) and he had lots to accomplish. He was quick and efficient, leaving our home a better and cleaner place. It was a pleasure to wake up Easter morning and walk downstairs on our spotless tile and grout from our front door through the foyer and back to our kitchen. Job well done. Randy also called us today to make sure we were satisfied customers. Definitely would recommend him to others.

Randy was very responsive in scheduling our service appointment. He was very punctual and communicated prior to arriving to help us plan appropriately. We needed additional services and he offered them at a very reasonable price. He was very efficient in the use of his time. He was very neat and careful not to impact areas adjacent to where he was working. He was careful to explain the service he was providing and how he would do the work. He also showed us other problems he encountered but did not pressure us to provide the solution. We were very pleased with his work and with the overal experience.

Randy arrived promptly and got to work measuring and prepping the tiled floors to be cleaned. He covered areas he did not want to get wet such as cabinet doors, adjoining wood floors, and carpeted surfaces. He then used a machine to clean the tile and grout, while hand scrubbing some areas that needed extra help. At the end of that process, he buffed the tiles. Randy then applied sealer to the grout in my kitchen area. Randy explained to me the process he would be using before he started. I appreciated knowing how he was going to get the job accomplished. He also called the next day to see if the job met my expectations. It did.

Purchased $89 BIG DEAL for cleaning of up to 300 sq feet of tile and scheduled date for service. Randy came to appointment as scheduled. We walked through area to be addressed and discussed some additional items we wanted addressed. Randy performed work by himself and did a wonderful job with all aspects--cleaning, sealing/changing grout lines and replacing tile. He pointed out helpful things along the way and was pleasant and professional. To be honest, we were reluctant to purchase the BIG DEAL since we hadn't heard of D&J Construction but the deal was too good to pass up. Since the BIG DEAL stipulated only one per household, we scheduled the rest of our tile to be cleaned by a more well known and highly rated company. After looking at the work, would definitely use D&J over the other vendor going forward. The D&J cleaned tile had a better finish and shine. Randy was very meticulous and didn't hesitate to apply a little elbow grease to get the job done well. Only wish we could still upload pictures to reviews so everyone can see the before and after pictures.

Randy was offering a tile and grout cleaning Big Deal special in conjunction with Angie's List. After we purchased the deal, I contacted him by email to schedule an appointment. We decided on a date and Randy stopped by a week or so ahead of time to assess the job. Randy returned with a helper to complete the work the following week. Everything went smoothly and we're very pleased with the work. DJ is a good company and we would not hesitate to call them again.

It was great, he did exactly what I asked and what was expected.

I called Randy to discuss whether we needed our grout lines re-stained or just cleaned. He stopped by our house the next morning with grout cleaner and stain to test a few areas. Upon seeing the results we decided to have it cleaned and re-stained. He promptly scheduled us for the following Wednesday at 10am. He and 2 of his employees showed up on time and cleaned all 1500 sq ft of our tile and grout lines on their hands and knees! In the process Randy moved a large area rug to clean underneath and discovered several old urine stains from our elderly sick cat who used to lay there. He insisted on cleaning the rug for us with his carpet cleaning equipment and did not charge us a dime!! Once the tile and grout lines were cleaned we realized how badly our baseboards needed a fresh coat of paint. He came back the next day with one of his painters and painted/caulked all the baseboards on our lower level. My husband and I couldn't be happier with the results!!! Our tile floors and baseboards literally look brand new again!!! Randy went way over and above and gave us 110%. This is a man who takes complete pride in his business, it is obvious that customer satisfaction is his #1 goal!!! I would highly recommend DJ Carpet & Tile Cleaning!! You will not be disappointed!!!!

Randy called both before and after the service. Once to give us a heads up on the exact time of arrival, and once to assess our satisfaction with the job. Good communication! I had an Angies list 'Big Deal' for cleaning 300' of tile grout for $89. I had a bit over 400. Randy showed up and spent 4 hrs. making sure that all the grout was as pristine as the day it was it laid. It's beautiful and he worked his tail off, asking me if I was satisfied several times during the job. Yes!!! Couldn't ask for a better job at a reasonable price!

They came right out and were great. The work looks brand new. We are very happy.
