+ 0 moreIt couldn't have been any better. Randy showed up in a timely fashion for our quote and he walked each room and explained his course of action. He provided us with a quote and was able to start with our schedule and completed the project in the 3 days he quoted. He and his assistant were very punctual each morning and cleaned up after each day. I would highly recommend this company to do your work for you. He even fixed my attic drop down stairs. Very talented individual.
Description of Work: We needed our living room, dining room, and foyer and hall painted as well as ceilings.

+ -1 moreWhen I called Randy at around 1 PM on 4/13 he was on another job and did not even know about my appointment. This is the owner of the company. He apologized and said he would have someone out the next day at 10 AM. That day, at 9 AM i received a text from one of his employees that stated he would not be able to make it because he cannot drive past a 50 mile radius. When the appointment was set up on 3/21 Randy was aware of my location and was ok with it as we are at 71 miles and the fine print said they would go up to 70 miles. So I am not sure where the 50 mile limit came in but i now think they just did not want to do the carpet. When I texted with Randy, the owner, he made sure to tell me how reliable they were and how they had no negatives whatsoever in 25 years. I found this to be true as I could not find ANY reviews for this company under Diversified C&P or D & J Carpet and Tile. As you may have noticed I am the first one to review them on Angie's list as well. Overall I would definitely look elsewhere for this company's type of services.
Description of Work: Made a commitment on 3/21/16 to be at our house for carpet cleaning at around noon on 4/13/16 and did not show up.

+ 1 moreATTENTION - This service provider is the needle in the haystack you are looking for if you want exceptional service and a high-quality job! Now, that I've told you the end of the story - let me begin at the beginning. At first, one of Mr. Jones' employees attempted to clean my carpets. In fact, that's all we actually hired him to do. However, when I expressed to Randy Jones, the owner, that I was unhappy with the finished product, he made it his MISSION to make me happy! He said his customers are his priority and he literally couldn't sleep knowing I wasn't completely satisfied. (It's true - I could tell by the time stamp on the email.) The next day, he was at our door and not only offered to re-do the job at no cost, he cleaned our hardwoods and tile at no additional charge. In fact, he spent days literally scrubbing and buffing my floors and refused to even accept gas money! Service providers like this are a rare find. Of course, we all know sometimes employees might drop the ball, but when an owner more than backs up his service agreement - I'm definitely impressed. Yes, it took a few days to get through the entire project, but that was because Mr. Jones and his assistant literally "detailed" my entire home! He far exceeded my expectations, and I'm incredibly grateful - my home looks like a showplace now. If you are looking for a top notch carpet cleaner, call Randy Jones. If you want your tile or hardwoods cleaned - call Mr. Jones. If you want your air ducts cleaned out - yep, he can do that too! My only warning to you - expect a man who is detailed and driven to please. He's intense about his work and his customers, and I'm grateful to find this gem. I highly recommend D&J and hope you experience the same "Mr. Clean" feeling I now have when I look at my home. Thanks Randy!

We'd planned to tackle this project ourselves, but ran out of time and are thankful for Randy tackling it for us! We will definitely contact him in the future for any other projects we need assistance with.

+ -1 moreThey painted two coats. They were overloaded with work so this put the work off until we had some warm days. We did need to reschedule a couple times because they were over-committed to other jobs. They did a fine job and the price was reasonable.
Description of Work: They painted all the exterior wood and doors of our house including the garage door. They work took a day and a half and half a day was spent replacing rotten wood, calking and prep work. A team of three completed the work.

+ -1 moreIt took like four times before the guy actually showed up. I took off time from work to meet this guy and he was just a no show. The work once he got here was fine, but just getting him there, he said he was bombarded with the "Big Deals" and he was unable to keep up with it. I would probably not use them again.
Description of Work: I used the "Big Deal" that I purchased for the services of D & J Carpet & Tile. They did re-grouting of a tub and I also ended getting some tile cleaning.

He did wonderful work on our grout earlier and meanwhile he had cleaned up a huge coffee spot we had, my husband put the coffee mug by the bedside on my carpet. Of course our carpet is a little worn, but he was completely reputable and he did what could be done on it. I would highly recommend him for either thing. I am very happy. We will hire him to clean up the grout after this winter. He kind of goes the extra mile. He's prompt, he's professional. If something is damaged he looks to see what can be done to fix it.

+ 7 moreThe work done was fantastic and very affordable. The D & J work crews were always showed up right on time as scheduled. The work was done on time and finished on schedule. And, they always accommodated our schedules. The grout cleaning and repair was outstanding. The painting was perfect. The house looked better than a show home when they completed the job. The crews worked fast with no inconveniences or mess for us. Randy supervised all the work and was constantly in contact with us regarding every aspect of the project right down to the smallest detail. I was particularly impressed with how the crews would fix minor things, that we didn't notice, without charging extra. I had the feeling that Randy and his workers were our friends more than contracted workers. They were very considerate of our opinions and carried out the work accordingly. It seemed like they were doing the work home as if it were their own. There was just an element of trust and affordability with D & J that was very impressive and hard to find anymore. I will definitely call D & J for any project or problem I have at my home or business in future. I highly recommended D & J!
Description of Work: We had a significant amount painting to the majority of our interior walls of our relatively large home. We had the grout in our tile floors cleaned. We also had our garage concrete floor cleaned. We had them do some drywall repair. We had them install several new lighting fixtures. We also had them do some carpet repair along with minor cleaning and hardware repairs.

+ -1 moreDO NOT, FOR ANY REASON, USE THIS COMPANY! HE IS NOT INSURED! Randy undercut the nearest competitor by over $1,000. We should have realized, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. We first had to deal with Randy revoking the quote when we asked for a couple of days to review it. He was never on time for any appointed time , and not on site for two of the three workdays. Once work began, his unsupervised crew didn't complete the job as quoted. The work actually completed was average at best. The crew also broke a bookshelf and damaged our hardwood floor by rolling a piano instead of lifting it. We stopped payment on a check, and he sent a crew member to steal unused materials that we had purchased. When attempting to rectify these issues, he secretly recorded the conversation and walked off the job, leaving ladders behind, when we wouldn't meet his demands. Those ladders are still on our property to date. After multiple attempts to file an insurance claim by phone, we visited his insurance agent's office to file a claim, and found a locked door and the lights turned off. We found this company on Angie's list, not Groupon. We had not purchased a deal through any site. This entire experience is regrettable, and we hope anyone else thinks twice before working with Randy Jones and D & J Carpet and Tile / Diversified Construction and Paint. We have attempted to return the materials to the contractor that were left on our property. We are not in a legal battle with this company, but wanted to work out any problems. He walked out on the job before we had the chance to come to agreeable terms, and has since lied about this incident in his response. Randy uses intimidation and harassment to try and achieve his end result. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
Description of Work: Diversified Construction quoted that they would paint the trim, walls, and ceiling in the master bathroom, master bedroom, dining room, entryway, and living room. We asked for an accent wall in the master bedroom and living room, as well as minor dry-wall repair. We provided the paint for the bathroom, since it had already been painted by us, but not to completion. The work that was not completed in each room is as follows: Master bathroom: A final coat of paint (provided by us) was not applied to the walls to remove the seam line between what we painted and what they painted. There was paint and sticky residue on the light fixtures. The crew dented the drywall, which was only patched after we pointed it out. The patchwork was not painted, leaving plaster marks that required sanding and repainting. My partner completed the repairs. Master bedroom: Painting and sealing completed, but the crew broke the shelf on a bookshelf in the room as we watched. Dining Room: Painting and dry wall repair completed, but the ceiling fan was not reinstalled correctly after painting was complete. The base connected to the ceiling that hides the wiring is still dangling free. Entryway: Painting and dry wall repair completed, except that top six inches between wall and ceiling lacks a second coat, showing brush marks. Living Room: The top of the chimney was painted white and not the accent color to match the rest of the wall. There was a patch of 6 inches by 6 inches that was around an electric plate on the northern wall that was not painted (since painted by us). The trim around the bay window was not painted (still not painted). The painters painted over the nails, and when the nails were moved out of the wall to rehang pictures, it took paint with it exposing white drywall (not yet repaired). We have photo documentation of all of the areas that we wanted fixed.

+ -1 moreWe purchased the "Big Deal" for $40 to clean grout. There were really old stains in 1 shower area and they did spend a long time trying to get as much as possible. It did look much better, but was not "as new",understandable. He recommended a product to purchase which would "cover over" the grout. We purchased this later and he was spot on and the shower area looks good. In the 2nd bathroom, we needed to have some regrouting, so there would be an extra charge of $150. Most Big Deals work this way. He used a color in the grout to match the tile color and it looks OK. If he had been on time, we would have had him clean the grout on the floors. He recommended another product to use ourselves and as before, he was correct. I was able to clean the floor grout and they still look good a year later. He was extremely nice, I guess the B grade can be summed up by 1. late (due to prior client -perfectly understandable) 2. additional cost (understandable but alittle high) 3. Just OK good on additional cost work.
