Description of Work: My furnance had a permanent filter that needed to be cleaned, but I had bought a replacementfilter. I was very unsure about that. He assured me that it was good, and even better than the permanent one. He took his time to explain filters, and, since I was changing the doors, he suggested that I use louvered doorsand explained why in detail.What a great experience. It was $152. because I bought the year service agreement (discount for seniors).

Description of Work: I used Chapman Heating & Air Conditioning to install a new system and they did some maintenance.

Description of Work: The furnace would not come on. The appointment was scheduled for 8:00 AM and the technician, Earl, arrived precisely at 8:00. Earl found that it was a simple matter of cleaning & adjusting the placement of the flame sensor and the 4th burner. He also found spots in the flue pipe that had rusted through and definitely needed replacing. He took the measurements and called in for the replacement pieces, which were delivered to the house within 30 minutes from Chapman's Service Dept. He replaced all the flue piping pieces. When completed, he vacuumed up the area and tested the furnace ignition sequence several times to verify everything was working properly. I have used Chapman before for various furnace problems as well as the replacement of my old A/C system. I will definitely call them again when the need arises. Prompt service, reasonable pricing.

Description of Work: I woke on a Saturday morning sweating from head to toe. I looked at the thermostat and saw the temperature was already over 80 degrees with the air conditioner running. The air was blasting from the vents but it was warm. I went outside to look at the unit and could hear the compressor running as I approached, but noticed the fan wasn't turning when I reached it. I immediately shut down the air conditioner and went to work to determine the problem. I searched on the internet and found a site that provided troubleshooting procedures. After following the troubleshooting guide, I narrowed it down to the dual capacitor. You gotta love the internet - there is so much you can find and learn. After I determined the most likely cause, I went to work on Angie's list to find a reputable business to verify my findings and find the parts. The first business I called did not seem concerned about my diagnosis nor did they sell over the counter parts. They told me they would have to send a technician out to perform a diagnosis and charge an $85.00 service fee just to come tell me what I already knew. I then called the second company on the list which I am now reporting on. Let me first start by saying I don't attribute luck to finding Chapman Air Conditioning and Heating because they are listed on Angie's List, however, there were a number of lucky incidents that occurred for which I am sincerely grateful. I called Chapman after 12:00 PM and, like many similar companies, they would have been closed but not today. I didn't know this at the time. I was lucky in that Jen forgot to shut off the phone at noon and although she could have ignored my call she picked up the phone and was eager to assist me. She told me she typically is not there this late, but lucky for me she was. Besides Jen there was a technician that again would not typically be there, but he was and was a great help. He listened to my problem, provided his professional opinion and found the part I needed on his truck; what luck, right? When I asked when they closed, it was then I learned they were already closed, but Jen said she would stay open until I could get there to purchase the part. When I arrived I was greeted with professional courtesy, a smile and the part. It was sitting on the counter with the paperwork filled out and ready to go. I can't thank Jen, Chris and Chapman Air Conditioning and Heating enough as I am now writing this in the comfort of my air conditioned home. It is a pleasure and comfort to know there are companies such as Chapman Air Conditioning and Heating that still believe in the spirit of customer service and not just the bottom line. Jen and Chris were professional, caring and most of all genuine.

Description of Work: Added Freon to air conditioner, discovered faulty breaker in breaker box.

Description of Work: We needed a new heat pump& air handler. After searching Angie's List, we asked several company to give us the best bid. Chapman gave us the best bid based on warranty, Angie's comment and the unit they provided. It was nice to see that they offered a higher SEER system that we were looking for at a competitive price. They just finished the job, a professional job, Thanks to Randy, Mike, and Bill.

Description of Work: REMOVED THE OLD BROKEN A/C UNIT, INSTALLED NEW BRYANT UNIT, REPAIRED 1 BROKEN LINE, CHARGED WITH FREON, INSTALLED NEW ELECTRICAL, DISCONNECTED THE BOX OUTSIDE, AND ALSO DISPOSED OF THE OLD UNIT.
