They were prompt and the person that had come was courteous. Their price was fine. They were responsive and punctual. I would be using them in the future and they are going to come every year.

Received a bid within 24 hours of calling for tree removal. The tree was on my neighbor's property and they used my referral of this company to do the service. They were prompt and cut the tree down without harming others around it. The tree was around 40' tall, had several forks which previously broke away and was rotting. They left me some of the trunk for firewood. I would recommend this service.

They did pretty well and they know their trees. I've used them over the last 2 or 3 years for tree trimming. I have been real happy with them.

Excellent service. We had part of a tree down from the wind storm. Called late afternoon and Jerry, owner, came out first thing next morning. His quote was complete for removal of 3 trees, stump grinding, clean up, and filling stump holes with top soil. The work was completed that afternoon. The crew was friendly, explained what they were doing, and did a good job cleaning up. This quote was competitive with another I got, but the 2nd quote did not include as good a clean up and no top soil for the holes. Recommend this service and would use them again.

The person who answered the phone was very nice and she explained that the arborist was out of the office until the following week and she would ask her to call me early in the week. It has now been two weeks and I have yet to hear back from anyone. The only reason I did not give an 'F' is that the receptionist answering the phone did a good job. While there may be a perfectly good reason why no one has returned my call, it is inexcusable that there has not been a phone call to explain the delay. Too bad really as I have a lot of tree work that needs to be done over time and they have taken themselves out of the running by their inaction.

The delivery process was simple - placing the order over the phone, left a check for them outside. I realized when I placed the order that their price was a little high, but they had a good reputation, so the extra few bucks wasn't a big deal. The problem came when I tried for 3 days in a row to get the wood to burn - it wouldn't. I reluctantly called them to let them know the issue - and also to let them know that I couldn't keep the wood as I am in a condo with limited space. In order to get firewood that would burn now, this firewood had to be removed. I spoke with Athena in the office, and I apoligized for the hassle (even though it wasn't as a result of anything I had done), and she was very pleasant, took the info, and said she would call me with a solution. Athena did call a couple of hours later to let me know that Jerry, the owner, would contact me later in the evening, or I would hear from Stephanie the following AM. By early afternoon the next day no one had bothered to contact me, so I called again. Stephanie was abrupt, said she didn't know who I was, so I (again) started to tell her the issue. Then she remembered I had already called, said 'oh yea, Jerry and I talked about this, and he says it should burn'. Duh - that's what I expected it to do when I bought it! Not only was she not even going to call me with their decision to ignore the problem - she hung up on me when I told her to just get someone here to get this wood so I could order some that would burn - and they could keep the money. Jerry wouldn't talk with me (at least that is what Stephanie said) until I demanded repeatedly, and he insisted they never deliver 'green' wood. He repeatedly called me 'sweeheart', and told me three times that I needed to listen to him carefully and three times he told me how to light a fire. He even told me to Google it so I could learn how, obviously I didn't know how. I am 55 years old, have had a fireplace in every home I have owned for the past 30 years, and I'm the idiot. They (Broad Ripple Tree) couldn't have possibly delivered wood to me that isn't properly seasoned. I invited him over to light a fire, but he isn't going to do that either. He is finally sending someone to get the wood, and said he is going to deliver their "best wood" to replace it. Seems to me that every customer should get the best available product - no one offered a choice when I placed the order. I don't want their wood. The customer service is atrocious, and the "hon", and the "sweetheart" comments are rude and sexist. They were condescending, and neither Stephanie or Jerry once said they were sorry there was a problem. And it is my expectation that anyone dealing with customers should be sorry if there is a problem - regardless of the cause. I do not like being in a position of having to demand, call repeatedly, and get angry to get a response. I can't remember when I have had this much hassle over a $100. purchase.

The small trees are fine, but they really had some problems with the larger trees. One of the trees that we asked them to trim, they went up all along the sides. It was a nice shaped tree with a lot of limbs and branches and all we had asked that they do was trim the lower branches so they wouldn't be hanging so low. When we called him about this, he said he was doing it for the health of the tree. He then told us that we should have been outside while they were trimming the trees. But in all of our previous discussions, he never mentioned that we should be out there to supervise. The other 2 large trees had dead limbs in the trees and we wanted to get rid of those. We also asked that the low branches be trimmed from one of those trees. They did a decent job removing the dead wood but we had to call them back to remove the low branches. When Jerry came out we specifically talked about what I wanted. However, he was not on-site when the crew came to do the work. I do not feel that I got the work I asked for or the service I expected. This work was done last week. I called him on Monday morning and he said to me "Why are you calling me on a Monday morning to complain?" This man was so unprofessional. We are incredibly dissatisfied with the work and do not feel that the job is even complete. He said that he expected people in our age group to know the language he was using and what work would be done. When I called on Monday, he said he would give us $200.00 back, I was not looking for $200.00. We spent $1800.00, we just want to be satisfied with the work. The tree looks so ugly, it was trimmed terribly. One of the other trees still has dead wood in the tree. Jerry came out to resolve this problem and when I asked if they would be removing the rest of the dead branches and if he thought the work was done up to satisfaction he just walked away and got in his truck and drove off. I can not believe that he had so little respect for my wife and I.

BRT not only took the 40' tree down without a hitch but the clean up effort was excellent.

All was fine until the bid was presented. The amount of the bid was approximately 1/2 as much more than the company which I selected (A Simple Man's Tree Service). Perhaps the most surprising part of the bid was that it was written and presented on a card not even as big as a 3X5 note card! This did not lead to any feeling that the company was very professional and added concerns that the crew would know what they were supposed to do once on the property.

By the time we noticed the damage being done by these catapillers we had significant damage to the foliage of our trees. Broad Ripple Tree Service responded very quickly and was at our home within a day. After their treatment the catapillers were completed gone. Excellent service and very prompt and friendly to deal with.

Called them for an estimate to do the job. They were punctual arriving, listened as we walked the property and handed me a detailed estimate before leaving. Although we decided to go a different way, we would consider calling them for future tree servicing.

They were prompt. They did a clean job. They checked with me to make sure I was happy with it. They were polite with me.

After the trimming the tree, they did not clean up well. The tree was close to a number of beds and they didn't pick up any of the limbs that fell into the beds. I also have a pea-gravel driveway and they didn't put anything down after I asked them to, there were twigs and sawdust that was almost impossible to clean up. I asked for an arborist to come out and I was able to talk to her and it helped to speak with someone who really knows what they are doing. You feel confident finding out about the tree's condition.

Fantastic! Just really great. I called them last Friday and they said they would come out on Friday afternoon, but I couldn't be there. They left me a note with what they would do. I called and told them they should come out when they could. They came out today. They've just done a wonderful job.

They were able to come out the next day of my initial phone call and did a good job. They were professional and they were also able to explain the care thoroughly.

BR estimate was a third of an estimate gotten from another Angies List A company. They got the work done the next day. They were prompt, polite. The work was done completely, safely, and they left our property completely cleaned of all debris. They were very careful with their trucks and stacked the wood for our neighbor who wanted it. We could not be more pleased.

Jerry came out on the weekend to give me an estimate so I was able to get the work scheduled for Tuesday of the following week. A large limb had already come down from the sweet gum a few weeks earlier, damaging the side of the house, so I wanted to get this done before another storm. The crew was great, especially the head man, Tim. While there they did a temporary fix on the loosened trim so it wasn't just hanging there and further pulling on the loosened electrical line anchor. Tim checked with me to be sure they were doing what I wanted. The men did a great job of cleaning up. I have used this company for a number of years for trimming, stump removal, and planting a new tree. I appreciated the 5% discount for paying by check instead of credit card.

It took the men well over 5 hours to complete this job, but it was well worth the time and money. The tree was HUGE! They were 4 hours late arriving the day of the job due to storm damage in other parts of town, but did call ahead to warn us of the delay. Their equipment also burned out our front yard, but after some watering it came back just fine.

Was overwhelmed by what a good job Broad Ripple Tree Service did. They were out within a day to quote. Quote was competitive. Job was done correctly and quickly. Office staff very responsive as well. Would definitely use this company again. Great people to work with, too.

Quick to respond with quote - always that day; work completed the next day. I appreciate that I don't need to be there and the work done is exactly what I requested.

They arrived on time and cut down a Pear and Birch tree in our yard. We also had 4 stumps ground down. They did an excellent job cutting the trees without hurting any other trees around and did a thorough job of cleaning up after the stumps were removed. I will call them again if I need more work done and refer them to family and neighbors.

I called for an estimate and the man came out the next day. He gave me a written quote and said it was a "filler" job, and would call in the next couple of days to schedule the work. He called a day or two later in the evening and said a crew would be out the next day around 11am. The crew showed up a little earlier than 11 and we talked through the job. The work was up against my house and they did the work carefully and cleaned up after themselves. Very good service at a very reasonable price. What more could you ask for?

I have used this company many times. They are one of those companies you go back to time and time again and recommend to others. You call, that day they leave an estimate, a day or two later the work is done just right. You never even have to be there for the whole process if you don't want to be.

Four guys from Broad Ripple Tree Service came out and took care of all of the work in about an hour. They were prompt, efficient and friendly. The alley is completely clear, great work!

This is the 4th time we have used Broad Ripple Tree for tree removal on our property in about 18 months of owning the house. This was probably the smallest job they have done and it was completed in about 2.5 hrs. The lot is heavily wooded (or was until we started significant tree and shrub removal) and had not had much maintenance work done in the 5 yrs before we bought the house. We even inspired our next door neighbor to have them remove about 7-8 dead trees after their 3rd job last summer at our house.
