Broad Ripple Tree Service Inc

We moved to a wooded lot on the north side of Indianapolis in the fall of 2010 and needed a lot of tree work done. After having 4 companies quote the work, we found Broad Ripple Tree service to be the most reasonable. We were able to schedule in a timely manner and the work was done according to our expectations. In having work done the following summer, we found that Broad Ripple Tree Service is one of the lower cost companies if you need to have an entire tree removed and the stump ground out. They are not the most competitive at pricing when it comes to having trimming or pruning done. One hiccup we had was that we wanted to keep the wood from the tree that we had removed. The company took the wood with us. I called; they apologized, but told us that they would charge us a delivery fee to return the wood because I had not been clear with them at the time we agreed on the service. I decided to let them keep the wood and not worry about it.

I called them and they came out the next day to give an estimate. They were very prompt and neat. They cleaned up and you could not tell they had been there other than the neatly trimmed trees and the new arborvatae that had been planted. I thought the price was very reasonable for the work that they did.

They did an excellent job. They were available almost immediately. They made suggestions too. They took it upon themselves to talk to my neighbors about a rim hanging over their property. I dint have to do that. They did that job on their own.

It went well and it was a good experience. They were also really fair.

A bit informal in the estimating process but very fair in pricing. Trees looked great when finished!

I was very happy with their services and would not hesitate to use the crew again. They were professional and willing to answer my questions before starting work. They were very careful laying metal strips down on my grass where they needed to drive the truck and cherrypicker. They took care to not drop dead branches on my other landscaping. No damage was done to the grass, they followed my instructions to a T, and cleaned up very well after the work. I was quite satisfied, no complaints. They were also quite polite.

It was excellent. They are efficient and pleasant to work with. Everything went well with the scheduling and I didn't feel that I had to wait. They were very punctual.

The strom damage in the maple tree was about 40 feet up in the tree -- the snapped branches (about 8 inches in diameter) were still trapped in the tree and were also laying on top of a nearby tree. This was in my backyard where Broad Ripple Tree Service could not get a truck so they used climbers to cut and remove the damage. They completed the job without any further damage to either tree. The two dead trees on the back property line were near gardens. Again they removed these trees plus all the debris without damage to the gardens. Overall, a very professional job.

The first crew was fine. They stopped early due to bad weather and the boss tried to say they were finished. They clearly were not finished and after he came out and i pointed out dead limbs not yet removed he sent the crew back out. Small hassle, but overall good work.

The wood arrived next day, it was very good quality, small logs that were well seasoned.

The overall experience with Broad Ripple Tree Service Inc was very good. They did the job quickly and cleaned up after themselves. They were quick on the estimate. My wife thought the price was a little high.

Overall experience was good. We had to re-schedule because we found out our furnace was a safety hazard and needed to be replaced. We thought we could have that done at the same time as tree service, but unfortunately there just wasn't room for both. The furnace had to take priority. At first we were going to be charged a hefty fee ($300), but since our furnace was an emergency situation they waived the fee. The workers were polite and seemed to do a good job, although it took a little longer than expected. It was supposed to take 4 hours, but if I recall correctly it was more like 6.

The work turned out great. They were very prompt with their initial response. I called them and they came out the same afternoon to give the estimate. Their promptness was the reason I hired them. They beat out everybody else.

Both trees were very large multi-trunk trees and overhung the house. They used buckets and hand climbed the trees carefully cutting and lowering the pieces to the ground. They removed all debris and cleaned up. It was a full day job and worked into the evening to complete the work.

It?s a good outfit. They came out promptly to give me an estimate and they pointed out some possible future problems up in the tree. I told them to take care of it and I came home one evening to find the limbs were gone. They cleaned up and you couldn?t tell that there had been any activity at all. Everything was just the way it was before the wind came and there weren?t any chips on the ground or anything.. I didn?t compare but I thought the price was fair; it didn?t shock me.

I thought they did a good job. They did what I wanted them to.

Estimates were provided promptly. Workers arrived as scheduled. They were very thorough and did a nice job of cleaning up the area under the trees that were trimmed. They removed various dead branches.

Timeliness was excellent. They did what they said they would. I had two negatives. These were tall trees that could be cut down in sections. Although they had ropes on the pieces that were being cut, there were several sections that slammed into the ground and caused damage to the lawn. I have had trees like this cut down several times and this had not happened before. Second, the job took much longer than they expected and as a result they were in such a hurry to finish that they did a poor job of cleanup. I could have called them back to complain and I suspect they would have responded; the people I spoke with for the estimate and on the job seemed very customer oriented. I did not call them though because it was easier for me to take the time to clean up.

It wasn't lousy but it wasn't the greatest either.

We called two services the morning of July 9th to gain estimates. Jerry Dunlevy responded immediately. He submitted an estimate for $895 to bring down the trees, cut into firewood and remove all non-firewood debris. He estimated stump removal at $150. He also said he would complete work today just in time for our party. I wanted a second estimate so I did not initially agree to his terms. After Jerry left I called the other service but they couldn't tell me when they would be out. So I called Jerry back and confirmed I wanted him to proceed with the work - if it could be done by 6:00 PM. He had a crew out within an hour. They had a truck and a cherry picker and a 4 man crew. I saw Jerry with them early, later when they were topping the tree and later when they were transitioning to clean-up. The crew worked the entire time. All of the major work was done by 6:00 PM. They were focused on clean-up primarily in my neighbor's area after 6:00. They did a great job. My only disappointment was about a quarter of the logs were cut longer than 18", some closer to 20" to 22". I did not discover this until I started splitting wood a couple of weeks later. My splitter could not handle larger than 18" length so I had to cut the longer pieces into two. I did not report this to Jerry. I think if I had emphasized the length requirement due to splitter restriction his crew would have done a more consistent job cutting them. I enjoyed working with Jerry and appreciate the amount of work his crew accomplished in one day - and avoid impacting our party. I don't know how competitive the price was since I did not receive a second estimate. But I am very comfortable with the expense for the work completed.

They did a good job cleaning up and the job was professionally done.

They were reasonably priced, on time, and cleaned up. They met my expectations.

I had a very unpleasant experience. They only cut what they were required to and pushed back a 12 foot stump, into the ground again. I still have the stump hanging as it is yet to be cleared by them. They were extremely unprofessional. I will never use their services again.

I liked peoples? feedback on this company so I contacted them. They did the work when I wasn?t home so we just left a check. They cleaned up very well after themselves.
