Called three times to get an estimate on hail damage repair. On third call, was told an estimate range and then I asked for it in writing and to be mailed; never received a written estimate.

No heat for a week. I wasted another day to see if it was delivered, but ended up driving further to another authorized dealer! What a waste of my time and gas! Losers.
Description of Work: Searched for Carrier furnace humidifier filter at all the home stores and found they can only be found through dealers. Carrier's official website listed their authorized dealers. My first choice was 3 miles away, but they had none in stock with a back order. My 2nd choice was Ken Carrier dealer, that I called on a Friday. The store rep quoted $25 for the filter, insisting that they deliver the in-stock filter for free on Monday, asked for my address and confirmed that they service my area all the time. He never showed up by the end of Monday, so the next day I called and and spoke with another store rep who gave a reason for the non-delivery, quoted $25, then promised that he would deliver it the same afternoon or have another rep servicing that area drop it off. Never showed up, again.

He was always there when he said he would be. When we first had the lines in it would not start and he came back several times to make sure we were happy.

The technician was flexible with scheduling, and he showed up on time. He indicated that a bearing may be going bad in the compressor. I elected not to have that work done. He added 1.5lbs of freon which did help the unit to run a little less. The cost of the service call was $85 higher than what I had been told on the phone.
Description of Work: A rattling noise was coming from by air conditioning unit. The unit also seemed to run more than expected.

They were very competitive. They submitted the bid and were the 2nd lowest. I like the Carrier equipment.

They did very good work. They were efficient and quick. They cleaned up their mess. The only problem was when I talked to one of the men who worked there, he said he was going to help us get heat registers and he never followed through.

I am just so happy. I've had problems with my furnace since it was installed 8 years ago. I'm glad I had them look at my furnace now before the busy season. I was nervous about what he would find, but it was just a bad connection. Thank God! I will use them again for sure!
Description of Work: All I knew was my furnace did not produce any heat. Jim did a complete system check, it was good that I did a work history. Jim stated it could be a series of seven things but said lets look at the wiring connection and low & behold that is what it was. He put on a new connection and my furnace worked. Thank God!

The air conditioner failed during hot evening on Tuesday. When my usual service provider could not send service personnel until Friday morning, I contacted Ken Carrier who promised to send a rep in the Wednesday afternoon. The lady from Ken Carrier also left me a voicemail to confirm the exact time of the appointment. To facilitate the repair, I left a detailed note of the symptom (i.e. fan makes buzz noise but doesn't rotate.). The service rep arrived on time and within 30 minutes, identified the problem and had the air conditioner working in good form. The service rep also described to me which component of the outside fan unit failed (capacitor). Furthermore, according to the invoice, he also checked the Freon pressure and electrical current level at the outside unit (which were normal). The total amount invoiced included diagnostic charge, parts + labor, and what I interpreted as a cost associated with driving out to my home. I thought the amount invoiced was very reasonable.
Description of Work: Troubleshoot outside air conditioning compressor fan that stopped rotating. Replaced motor capacitor on the unit and performed routine check of Freon pressure and electrical current level.

David returned my call fairly quickly. He made an appointment with me and never showed up. Then he rescheduled and failed that appointment as well. I called him for a third time and have not heard from him. It has been several weeks.
Description of Work: I contacted David Cross to help me make my home warmer in the winter. I was considering adding a separate heat pump to service an end of my home that is colder than the rest of the house.

THE TECH SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SHOULD NOT HAVE TAKEN THE SERVICE CALL, HOWEVER, REFERRED IT TO OUR MAIN OFFICE WHERE PROPER TRACKING TO COMPLETION IS DONE. WE HAVE UPDATED OUR PROCEDURES TO PREVENT TECH SERVICE PERSONNEL FROM TAKING APPOINTMENTS SINCE THEY OFTEN ARE NOT IN A LOCATION TO DOCUMENT AND RECORD THESE COMMITMENTS. After the Memorial Day weekend, all of the Air Conditioner companies were extremely busy. I called around and no one could come out right away. I called Carrier and they said that they would fit me in in the next day or so. They sent a person out the following day who arrived at 10 P.M. and was very nice and professional. (They did not charge an after hours fee either) The Air Conditioner Freon was low and they filled it with Freon that has dye in it so we can find the leak. The dye can only been seen with a blue light. (No one else that we have had out has ever offered that option). Also, they said they would return in 2 weeks to look for the leak. Answered all of my questions. Very happy with Ken Carrier.

Chris was polite and the job was priced appropriately. However, the company failed to send someone out on the first THREE appointments. I am sure that they were busy, but they should have informed me earlier that they would not arrive. They should not have missed an appointment three times.

First call went to their answering service although it was during their published business hours. Finally, after 3 calls I set an appointment for 2PM ... by 5PM they were a "no show" & I called them. I was told the rep would be at my house "within the hour." I quit looking for him by 9PM. I never received a call to reset the apt. or even an apology for missing the scheduled time or my time off work to meet them (just so they could sell me a $6000 system). Good Luck with this company!

Dave was very polite and knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions and explained things well. He not only fixed the problem (furnace went out-reason for service call) but also checked out the humidifier and electronic air cleaner. He came out the same day as our call and was reasonably priced.
Description of Work: New hot service ignitor was installed and checked. Water to humidifier was turned on. Also informed that electronic air cleaner was no longer working.

I WAITED FOR THE ESTIMATE, BUT AFTER 3 DAYS OF NO RESPONSE I CALLED HIM BACK AND LEFT A MESSAGE. HE RETURNED THE CALL AND LEFT A MESSAGE SAYING HE HAD THE ESTIMATE READY, BUT THAT HE HAD LOST MY FAX NUMBER. I CALLED BACK AND LEFT HIM A MESSAGE WITH MY FAX NUMBER AGAIN. (IF THIS WAS THE CASE WHY HAD HE NOT CALLED ME TO TELL ME THIS??) ANYWAY, I GAVE HIM MY FAX NUMBER AGAIN AND HE PROMISED TO FAX THE ESTIMATE THAT DAY. IT HAS BEEN ANOTHER WEEK NOW, SINCE WE SPOKE AND I HAVE STILL HEARD NOTHING FROM HIM. I HAVE SINCE PICKED ANOTHER COMPANY TO DO THIS WORK. I FEEL BAD GIVING A ''D'' FOR PROFESSIONALISM, BECAUSE THE PERSON WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL WHEN HE WAS AT MY HOME, BUT I FIND IT EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL TO PROMISE SOMETHING AND THEN NEVER DELIVER ON IT.
Description of Work: CALLED FOR THEM TO GIVE AN ESTIMATE ON REPLACING EXISTING FURNACE AND A/C UNIT. HE RESPONDED RIGHT AWAY AND CAME OUT TO MY HOME TO DO THE ESTIMATE. HE TOOK ALL THE INFORMATION NEEDED AND SAID HE WOULD FAX OR CALL ME WITH THE ESTIMATE IN A FEW DAYS.
