They came out and did the job within 24 hours. The telephone receptionist was a little brisk, but otherwise okay.
Description of Work: Air conditioner wasn't working to it's potential. They came out within 24 hours, and added coolant. It's working now. We also had a service contract to perform twice a year inspection/maintenance. They weren't real good about getting in to do that without a phone call to remind them.

They know what they are doing. The techs are knowledgeable. They call ahead of time, to let you know they are coming. Which I like. They arrive on time, and not 15 min late. They answer all my questions, and they wear covering on their shoes. I haven't had any problem with them, I am very satisfied with them.

Went very well. The company bid on the project along with two other companies. Breelove-Dobbs provided a detailed report of all the parts, equipment, and labor required to complete the job. Several equiptment options were included in the bid from good, better, to best with all accessories available. The company submitted rebates for me and conducted a thorough training on the use and programing of the equipment. The installers were clean, thorough, polite, knowledgeable, and went out of their way to meet my scheduling limitations. They were punctual and completed the job in one day. One good not tell that a new furnace and heat pump were installed as the area was actually cleaner and more tidy than the condition in which they found the utility room. All equipment was thoroughly tested before the installors left the house. They returned the following day to be assured that everything worked as explained. The salesperson was friendly and no high pressure tactics were utilized - only an explanation of the advantages and disadvantages of each option. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone.

We weren't too happy with them. Even though labor and parts were under warranty they still charged for something they called "diagnostics fee." The first person that came out thought they fixed it but didn't. They sent someone else the following Monday. He seemed to know what he was doing but said they had to overnight a part that they didn't have available. They thought they'd be in on Wednesday but we didn't hear back from them. Seven days later WE called THEM again. They said they had the part on their desk and they'd come out the next day. Now, the furnace appears to be fixed finally but the service was not what we were accustomed to.
Description of Work: We bought a furnace from a company that went out of business but they indicated that Breedlove was taking over their contracts. Breedlove did some replacement work under that warranty for us. In the question below "would you use them again?" our answer is really Maybe.. but it was a yes or no question.

I had a time crunch. It was 90 degrees, my A/C was not working and my son was getting married and were to have a house full of people. I called on a Tuesday, they came out, said I needed a new unit but had to send someone else to give me an estimate. I told him he had to come Wednesday because I needed the work done by Friday afternoon. He set it up for Thursday afternoon but had to change it to Friday morning. They were able to replace my existing system and get it up and running Friday afternoon. They had a very tight fit to get the outdoor compressor into position as I have a fence that surrounds it. They removed part of the fence and replaced it when done. They also had to remove a Viburnum bush for it to fit. They asked which one they could remove rather than just take one out.

I bought a contract for them to come check it every 6 months and they have been coming out and doing it. They are really easy to work with. They check all the parts. They check the outside units. They clean the part inside the filter, if needed. They also replace the humidifier. I havent had any problems with them. They usually call and remind me. They are always on time. If not - they call.

Two years ago they also installed a new gas line to our house and a gas furnace. They did excellent work then. Theyre very responsive and can give you an estimate in a timely fashion. We had an issue once and they were back out here working on it. We have no complaints about their service. Their office staff is very nice to work with.

HOWEVER, THEY ALSO INSPECTED THE OLD GAS LINE IN THE EXISTING HOME, WHICH WAS NOT PART OF OUR CONTRACT, AND FOUND LEAKS AT THE HOT WATER HEATER AND GAS GRILL (RANGE). BECAUSE OF THE LEAKS, THE GAS COMPANY SHUT OFF THE THE MEMBER’S GAS, NOT OUR FIRM. ON JUNE 26, 2008, THE MEMBER CALLED OUR FIRM TO SEE IF WE COULD FIX THE GAS LEAKS AND GET HER GAS TURNED BACK ON. THE MEMBER EXPLAINED THAT SHE HAD A DISABLED CHILD AND THAT IT WAS CRITICAL SHE HAVE HOT WATER. THAT EVENING WE WENT TO THE MEMBER’S HOME AND WERE ABLE TO REPAIR THE LEAKS AT THE HOT WATER HEATER, BUT DID NOT HAVE THE MATERIAL ON HAND TO REPAIR THE LEAK TO THE RANGE. WE EXPLAINED TO THE MEMBER THAT WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO REPAIR THE LEAK TO HER RANGE THAT EVENING, BUT COULD CAP OFF THAT SUPPLY LINE, SO THAT WE COULD ACTIVATE HER HOT WATER HEATER, WHICH WE DID. SHE HAD HOT WATER. WE EXPLAINED TO THE MEMBER THAT SINCE IT WAS AFTER OFFICE HOURS WE COULD NOT TELL HER THAT EVENING WHEN WE WOULD BE OUT THE NEXT DAY TO GET HER RANGE WORKING UNTIL WE HAD CHECKED OUR TECHNICIANS' SCHEDULES. WE GAVE HER OUR INVOICE (COPY ATTACHED) FOR THE WORK WE PERFORMED THAT EVENING, AND SHE PAID US. THE FIRST THING THE FOLLOWING MORNING, BEFORE WE HAD A CHANCE TO CHECK THE TECHNICIANS' SCHEDULES, THE MEMBER CALLED US TO INQUIRE AS TO WHEN WE WOULD BE OUT THAT DAY. WE TOLD HER THAT WE COULD NOT GET A TECHNICIAN TO HER HOME BEFORE MID – TO LATE AFTERNOON. See above. It was a painless, perfect experience. I work close to home. The repairman called when he was 10 minutes away, was at my house when I got there so I could let him in, and we discussed how he would close the garage and secure my property when he left. Time lost from work? None-simply took 1/2 hour or less which I took as lunch. I am a convert. I will need a new furnace most likely in a few years and for certain Jeff Rich and his company will get the job. I am also converting my yearly check ups to them. It wasnt just the superior work-it was the entire experience from start to finish. The price was less than I expected, the service perfect and the headaches involved-zero! Also, Jeff called after the next big rain to be certain the pump was working correctly and that I had no problems! What service! I have never had anyone concerned enough to check up on me later!
Description of Work: During a cold spell, my heat was not working. A horrid sound was coming from all my vents-a gurgling sound-that was very loud. I called my "normal" service company and was told, without much time invested, that it was a water company issue-that the meter was broken and that was the cause of my problems. I called the water company and after several hours someone came to investigate. They were more concerned with telling me how stupid the first person had been and that this was for certain NOT a water company issue. One of my co-workers recommended Jeff Rich. I called and he returned my call immediately, came to my house to "diagnose" the problem (a broken mini sump pump), scheduled the work and had it fixed within 2 days or so. It was like a miracle! Both Jeff and the repairman who did the pump replacement were so polite, helpful and spent as much time explaining as I needed. Jeff also looked at another problem I was having-not one his company would handle as it turns out-and guided me on what to do. I am a convert after more than 20 years with the other, well known company. As a matter of fact, I may file a complaint against the other company.

The technicians were professional, diligent and cleaned up after they finished. We were pleased that Mr. Rich would be interested to come by and discuss the job with us.
Description of Work: I talked to Mr. Rich (co-owner of Breedlove Dobbs) about replacing or repairing our old garage heater in March 2007. After inspecting the heater, he recommended replacing it with a new heater. The new heaters are controlled by digital controls and are more efficient. He ordered a new heater and said it would take about 2 to 3 weeks to be delivered. That was okay with us because it was spring and we would not need the new heater until the winter. When the new heater arrived, 2 technicians came and removed the old heater and installed the new one. The 2 technicians were prompt, professional and diligent in performing the work. After they installed the heater it was checked by them. They also installed a new chimney which brought the system up to code. Mr. Rich visited us that evening (April, 2007) to make sure everything was in order.

They arrived when agreed and immediately started to work. I found these guys to be very polite and professional. They answered all of my questions. The salesman and the installer's supervisor (I think he was one of the owners) stopped by to check on the installers and just to see if I had any other questions. The only odd thing was that the installer realized that one of the parts while working, would be a problem in the near future. Instead of waiting for me to call them when the furnace didn't work (and I would be really unhappy if this happened), they told me about the problem and ordered another part. About a week and a half later, they came by to replace the part. I found everyone with BREEDLOVE DOBBS to be wonderful to work with and would highly recommend them to anyone having to replace a furnace.
Description of Work: They diagnosed the problem with our old furnace and when we decided to get a new furnace, a salesman provided information on the furnaces that would suit our needs. The next day, they installed the new furnace.

I had a terrible time with my previous company, who had performed preventative maintenance on my AC unit for the last 6 years. This year they had done the service and within two weeks the AC went down. On 4 occasions after the PM, the AC went down and we sequentially had them out and replace the compressor, capacitor and wiring twice. When the AC went down a 5th time within hours of their last visit, I could not get them to return. I found Ken Carrier Co. on Angie's list and they made an evening service call without ever working for me. The repairman immediately found the problem and replaced the condenser motor and said our fan blades were out of balance. He got the AC working that evening during 90 degree weather and then stopped by the next day to replace the fan blades which he felt had been damaged during previous work by the other company. I was very impressed with the Ken Carrier company and their response to a new customer after hours!
Description of Work: My AC went out after a previous company had replaced the compressor, capacitor and the wiring on 4 different service calls. Ken Carrier Co. came out and found that the condenser motor was out along with the condenser fan blades being out of balance. They replaced these parts and the AC works fine now.

The estimate was very thorough, but the price was higher than we had hoped. They sell Carrier equipment, which seems to be higher priced so we chose another company to do the work.

The work was done professionally, however, the system failed the on the second night. Mr. Carrier came and fixed it himself, but it failed again. They sent a regular technician that came and fixed it and we haven't had a problem since.

I would not hire or recommend this company.
Description of Work: I called this company and asked to speak to someone in sales about a quote for a new furnace. The guy said, ''that would be me.'' I didn't catch his name. I explained that I wanted to replace my existing furnace. He asked for information about the brand, model number, etc. and then we talked about a time for him to come by our house. He said, ''Will your husband be there?'' I said I will be home. He said, ''Oh, so I have to explain everything to your husband at another time so he understands everything?'' He then chuckled. I replied, ''No, you won't have to because this conversation is over. I don't have a husband, and I have never been so insulted in my life.'' I said goodbye and hung up. I won't do business with a company or a representative that has an attitude like that.
