WE HAD TO CALL THEM TO REMIND THEM TO COME FOR OUR MAINTENANCE CHECK. THEY CAME WITHIN A FEW DAYS. THE TWO GUYS WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL. THEY DIDN'T GIVE US A FILTER FOR OUR HUMIDIFIER ON ONE OF THEIR PREVIOUS VISITS. THEY SAID THEY WOULD GIVE US A NEW ONE ON THE WINTER VISIT, AT NO CHARGE. I WILL CONTINUE TO USE THEM AND WOULD RECOMMEND THEM.

I CALLED KEN'S ON MONDAY AFTERNOON ABOUT 4:00 PM. HE PROMISED SOMEONE WOULD BE OUT ON TUESDAY. OUR REGULAR HEATING & A/C COMPANY (WHO WE HAVE A SERVICE CONTRACT WITH) COULD NOT COME UNTIL THURSDAY. I WAS NOT WILLING TO WAIT THAT LONG, DUE TO THE FORECASTED HIGH TEMPS FOR THE WEEK. WE WERE TOLD THE SERVICE PERSON WOULD BE OUT BETWEEN 2:00 & 4:00. I CALLED AT 4:30 TO FIND OUT WHERE HE WAS & WAS TOLD HE WAS AN HOUR FROM GETTING TO US. I CALLED AGAIN AT 5:45 & WAS TOLD HE WAS ON HIS WAY. HE ARRIVED ABOUT 6:15 & CHECKED THE SYSTEM, FOUND IT WAS JUST A BLOWN FUSE (DID I FEEL SILLY!), REPLACED IT, CHECKED THE SYSTEM TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING ELSE WAS FINE. I WAS CHARGED THE SERVICE CALL & PRICE OF FUSE (HE EVEN LEFT AN EXTRA FUSE). I RATED HIM A B ON PUNCTUALITY DUE TO THE DISPATCHER'S INABILITY TO ACCURATELY ESTIMATE TIME OF ARRIVAL. IT WAS A VERY HOT DAY & THEY HAD MANY CALLS - I DIDN'T BLAME THE SERVICE GUY. I WOULD CALL THEM AGAIN.
Description of Work: A/C WAS NOT WORKING ON A VERY HOT MONDAY. NOT EVEN THE FAN WOULD COME ON. IT TURNED OUT THAT IT WAS ONLY A BLOWN FUSE ON THE FURNACE UNIT - WHICH PROVIDES FAN FOR CENTRAL A/C.

VERY SLOW TO RESPOND TO REQUEST TO VISIT HOUSE AND PROVIDE ESTIMATE. CAME TO HOUSE ON A MONDAY AND DROPPED OFF BROCHURES, DID NOT SPEND MUCH TIME, QUOTE WAS DATED A WEEK LATER, BUT DELIVERED TWO WEEKS LATER. WE DID NOT USE THEM, BECAUSE WE WERE NOT SURE THEY WOULD EVER SHOW UP WHEN PROMISED.

HERB HARR WAS PLEASANT AND PROFESSIONAL TO DEAL WITH. HIS COMPANY WAS ABLE TO FIT IN A SERVICE CALL TO OUR HOUSE WITHIN 24 HOURS OF MY CALL TO THEM. ANOTHER COMPANY TOLD US WE'D HAVE TO WAIT FOR A WEEK AND A HALF!! HERB DID RUN VERY LATE, AND DIDN'T CALL WITH AN ETA FOR THE JOB, (WHICH I WAS TOLD WOULD BE DONE BEFORE NOON) UNTIL SOMETIME AFTER ONE. HOWEVER, SINCE HE SPENT TWICE AS LONG FIXING OUR PROBLEM AS I'D ANTICIPATED, AND CHEERFULLY STAYED UNTIL THE PROBLEM WAS COMPLETELY RESOLVED, MY GUESS IS THAT HE RAN LATE BECAUSE HE STAYED AT HIS PREVIOUS JOBS UNTIL *THEY* WERE COMPLETELY FINISHED, TOO. WHEN I PRESENTED MY ANGIE'S LIST $25 OFF COUPON, HERB SAID THAT WE'D SAVE MORE WITH THEIR 15% OFF ANGIE'S LIST DISCOUNT, AND HE PROMPTLY GAVE ME THAT, WHICH SAVED ME A BUNCH OF MONEY. HE DIDN'T HAVE TO DO THAT, AND MY HUSBAND AND I REALLY APPRECIATED IT. AND, NOW OUR AC WORKS. WE WOULD HAPPILY USE AND RECOMMEND KEN CARRIER AGAIN.

MY OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS POSITIVE. ONCE THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED, HE WAS VERY POLITE, EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM AND CHECKED TO BE CERTAIN THAT THE A/C WAS WORKING PROPERLY. THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS THAT HE WAS LATE - THE JOB BEFORE MINE TOOK LONGER THAN THEY EXPECTED AND THE TECHNICIAN WAS 3 HOURS LATE. WITH THAT BEING SAID, I CANNOT FAULT HIM WHEN THE UNEXPECTED HAPPENS. (AS IT ALWAYS DOES HAPPEN) I WAS HOPING THAT THE TECHNICIAN WOULD GIVE MY SITUATION THE SAME LEVEL OF ATTENTION AS HE DID THE JOB BEFORE MINE. I AM HAPPY TO REPORT THAT HE DID GAVE ME THE SAME LEVEL OF ATTENTION. I WILL DEFINITELY USE KEN CARRIER IN THE FUTURE.

AT BEGINNING, HERB GAVE ME A $9800 ESTIMATE AND $1000 REBATE FOR EVERYTHING AND 10 YEARS EXTEND WARRANTY, BUT I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS GOING TO GET ESTIMATE FROM OTHER COMPANY. HE CHECKED WITH THE OWNER KEN CARRIER AND AGREED TO GIVE ME THE HUMIDIFIER, EAC AND EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR FREE, WITH TOTAL PRICE TAG $8300, AND $1000 REBATE FROM CARRIER, BUT WE NEEDED TO MAKE A DECISION IN A WEEK AND STARTED THE WORK NEXT WEEK. DURING THAT WEEK, I CHECKED WITH OTHER BIG COMPANIES. THEY GAVE ME HIGHER QUOTE, WRONG BRAND AND MISLEADING INFORMATION OF WHAT I NEED. HOWEVER, I WAS STILL HESITATING TO USE THEM, BECAUSE OF THE SMALL COMPANY THEY ARE, AND ONLY HAS 3 MEN CREW. BUT AFTER CHECKING THE ANGIE'S LIST, THEIR HONEST ESTIMATE, ALL THE RIGHT INFORMATION, AND THE BRAND. I DECIDED TO WORK WITH THEM. THEY DID A FANTASTIC JOB, QUICK, CLEAN, KNOWLEDGE ABOUT WHAT THEY WERE DOING, AND VERY EFFICIENT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM, AND THE CARRIER INFINITY HEAT PUMP SYSTEM.
Description of Work: THE REPLACED THE OIL FURNACE, AND AC, WITH A CARRIER INFINITY HEAT PUMP, HEATING ELEMENT, INFINITY CONTROLLER, HUMIDIFIER, AND ELECTRONIC AIR CLEANER; AND MOVED THE OLD SYSTEM IN 2 DAYS. REPLACED THE DUCT WORK AROUND THE OLD FURNACE. REARRANGED THE ELECTRIC CIRCUIT, AND PUT NEW CIRCUIT FOR HEATING ELEMENT.

HERB HARR WAS THE TECHNICIAN. HE WAS ON TIME AND CALLED AHEAD. HE ANSWERED ALL OF MY QUESTIONS AND SHOWED ME HOW TO SHUT OFF ROOMS OF MY HOUSE, CLEAN THE FILTER AND EVEN GAVE ME A REASONABLE ESTIMATE ON A NEW FURNACE AND AIR CONDITIONER. HE POINTED OUT SOME THINGS, BUT SAID ALL IN ALL THE UNIT IS RUNNING GOOD. HE WAS HONEST ABOUT MY AIR CONDITIONER... I BELIEVE A LOT OF COMPANIES MIGHT HAVE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF A 32 YEAR OLD UNIT.
Description of Work: MY AIR CONDITIONER WASN'T RUNNING VERY WELL... TOOK FOREVER TO COOL DOWN. KEN CARRIER HEATING AND COOLING, LLC PERFORMED A SPRING TUNE UP - CLEANED FILTER, CLEANED EVAPORATOR COIL, CLEANED CONDENSER COIL AND CHECKED CHARGE ON UNIT. I ALSO NEEDED 2 LB. OF FREON.

THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE VENT BLOWER MOTOR. THE PROBLEM BEGAN WHEN THEY HAD TO SEARCH FOR THE PART AND TRIED TO CHARGE ME 2 HOURS LABOR. I TOLD THEM THAT THERES A HUGE MARK UP ON THE PART ITSELF AND THE $80 AN HOUR WAS OUTRAGEOUS. HE SAID THAT THE PART WAS NORMALLY $126 AND THEY TRIED TO ORIGINALLY CHARGE ME $203 BUT GAVE ME A 10% DISCOUNT. I HAD TO PAY HIM BUT I WAS DISSATISFIED WITH THE DELAY OF SERVICE, WAITING 5 DAYS IN COLD WEATHER AND BEING OVERCHARGED.

THE ABOVE MENTIONED FURNACE IS LOCATED IN A SMALL UTILITY CLOSET WITH NO ROOM TO RELOCATE ANY OF THE DUCTWORK. OUR COMPANY ONLY REPLACED THE FURNACE, ITSELF. THE FILTER IS LOCATED IN THE DUCTING AND WAS INSTALLED PRIOR TO US REPLACING FURNACE. IT WAS EXPLAINED TO THE CUSTOMER THAT THERE WAS NO ROOM TO RELOCATE THE FILTER AND REPLACING THE FILTER WAS THE SAME AS BEFORE.

I CALLED NUMEROUS A/C COMPANIES EARLY ON A SATURDAY MORNING, AND WAS TOLD BY MOST OF THEM IT WOULD BE MONDAY MORNING BEFORE I COULD GET SERVICE. THIS PARTICULAR WEEKEND WAS IN THE UPPER 80'S. THIS COMPANY SAID HE COULD COME SOMETIME, BUT THAT IT MIGHT BE IN THE LATE EVENING. THAT SOUNDED GREAT, SINCE NO ONE ELSE COULD COME UNTIL MON. AM. ABOUT TEN MINUTES LATER, HE CALLED ME BACK AND SINCE THEY WERE CLOSE TO MY AREA, THEY CAME ON OVER. THEY WERE THE 3RD COMPANY THAT I HAD CHECK OUT THE FURNACE. THE FIRST TWO COMPANIES MISDIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND REPLACED THE WRONG PART. BREEDLOVE DOBBS CORRECTED THE PROBLEM (WHICH HAD BEEN RECURRING FOR SEVERAL YEARS). THEY SEEMED MUCH MORE KNOWLEDGEABLE THAN THE OTHER REPAIR COMPANIES.
Description of Work: THEY CAME TO CHECK ON A FURNACE THAT WAS NOT PROPERLY HEATING THE HOUSE.

REP FOUND PROBLEM AND GAVE ESTIMATES IN 45 MIN. THEN HE ALSO CHARGED ME FOR HIS 45 MIN DRIVE TIME TO GET TO MY PLACE. THIS WAS NOT AN EMERGENCY AND DIDN'T EXPECT 45 MIN DRIVE FOR CARMEL BASED COMPANY. (I'M IN FISHERS) THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN EXPLAINED. REP WAS PATRONIZING AND UNPROFESSIONAL TRYING TO EXPLAIN WHY IT WAS JUSTIFIED. TRIED TO TELL ME ARS WOULD HAVE DONE SAME AND ASKED ME 'WHAT DID I EXPECT' I'VE NEVER PAID FOR TRAVEL TIME WITH A VISIT DURING BUSINESS HRS. IF SAT DURING DAY WASN'T BUSINESS HRS, THEN THEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME. I AM GLAD THE JOB BEFORE MINE WASN'T IN EVANSVILLE. I GUESS I WOULD HAVE BEEN BILLED 3.5 HRS OF TRAVEL. $112 IS FOR 30 MIN WORK, 15 MIN OF ESTIMATES FOR REPAIRS OR NEW PUMP, AND 45 MIN OF TRAVEL @ $75/HR. REP DIDN'T PUT HIS NAME ON THE INVOICE.
Description of Work: CALLED SAT MORNING TO GET SOMEONE TO LOOK AT HEAT PUMP THAT WAS NOT DEFROSTING.

I CALLED OTHER PLACES WHO WERE MORE INTERESTED IN SELLING ME A NEW ONE THAN REPAIRING THE ONE I HAD. KEN CAME OVER PERSONALLY, GREAT GUY, PERSONABLE AND SAID 'LET ME SEE IF I CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS WARRANTY BEFORE WE GO ANY FURTHER'. HE CAME BACK AND SAID HE MADE SOME CALLS AND GOT IT COVERED. KEN REPLACED THE COMPRESSOR FOR FREE AND SIMPLY CHARGED FOR THE LABOR INVOLVED. I NEVER EVEN KNEW IT HAD A WARRANTY UNTIL HE BROUGHT IT TO MY ATTENTION. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. A VERY HONEST MAN WHO DOES BUSINESS THE OLD FASHION WAY WITH A HAND SHAKE.

MR. CARRIER CAME OUT HIMSELF TO TALK TO ME AT MY HOME. HE GAVE ME TECHNICAL INFORMATION IN A MANNER THAT I COULD UNDERSTAND. HE CAME OUT WITH THE INSTALLERS TO MAKE SURE THAT EVERYTHING WAS GOING PROPERLY. HE WAS HERE SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE INSTALLATION. THE INSTALLERS ANSWERED ALL OF MY QUESTIONS. THEY DID A VERY GOOD JOB. THE EQUIPMENT WORKS FINE. I'VE NEVER HAD A COMPANY DO BETTER WORK FOR ME THAN MR. CARRIER'S COMPANY.
