Bone Dry Roofing

We were very happy with the job performed by Bone Dry. We went with Bone Dry due to their reputation and the fact they have been in business for such a long time. The crew was very professional and knowledgable regarding the work being done. The job was completed on schedule and the crew worked until late at night and were back early the next morning. They cleaned up each day and did not leave a lot of debris lying around. They also took steps to prevent landscape damage. Overall, we were very pleased with the work and would definitely go back to Bone Dry for any roofing work/repairs.

This was an insurance claim. My estimator originally estimated the replacement for much less money. However, when they heard I got my estimate from Bone Dry, the approved the full amount. Bone Dry worked very quickly, cleaned up every day and did a great job. My only complaint, was that no one on my crew spoke, that actually did the work English, so it was impossible to communicate with them.

Not impressed. Would not recommend then based on our experience. There have been multiple false promises,unanswered phone calls,post work clean-up was so-so at best. They also put two holes in the gabled roof when they replaced that and we had to have that repaired.

In the past two year period (the most recent was October 2006), I have set two appointments with Bone Dry Roofing to get estimates on replacement roof for my two different properties on West 52nd Street. Each time I received a call back to confirm the appointments. They failed to show up for either appointment, despite the confirmations. I called them and left a voice mail message after the first stand-up, but never received any response.

Called to get an estimate for a new roof. Did not receive any call back.

We really wanted Bone Dry to replace our roof due to all the good responses we read on Angie's list. The came out to do an estimate within 2 weeks of my initial call at a very busy time but then after we called to accept the estimate, I did not hear back from them for several months. We ultimately went with a different company that was better about returning our phone calls.

After an initial slow response from Bone Dry Roofing, their VP Randy Judd was extremely responsive. It appears that my particular message was left on a voice mail box that is not checked on a daily basis. Randy Judd was kind enough to provide me with his direct Cell number and after two additional interactions with him, we decided to use Bone Dry Roofing. Our recommendation for Bone Dry Roofing and Randy Judd, in particular, would be very strong, an A+.

They had a quick response on getting an estimate. Work was completed within the time frame they had promised. Work was done to our satisfaction. We especially appreciated the fact that Shawn suggested additional work they could do as part of the minimum charge for this job. We had materials left over from the original siding job, so this charge was strictly for labor.

I called in June and received no response. I called on 9/29 and was told that a roofing estimate could not be scheduled until November. I called another number to schedule a siding estimate and was told that their division could also do roof estimates. I was able to get an appointment in a few days. Jade, the estimator called to say he was running late. He patiently answered all of my question.

Outstanding experience. I would recommend this company to everyone.

Company representatives (Ron, Shawn, Brad) checked the quality of work during the job of window/vinyl siding replacement was being done as well as the completed work. ALL were extremely polite and patiently answered all my questions. Many thanks to Todd for his expert workmanship with restoring the window to how it should have originally been and for his patience in answering my never-ending questions. Both he and his assistant, Mario, did a great job on the vinyl siding replacement as well. The guys cleaned up when they were done to the point that it would have been difficult to know they'd been there - except for how wonderful the window and siding look now. I love my new window and the vinyl siding looks great! I highly recommend Bone Dry Exteriors for window/vinyl siding installation/replacement.

After getting three estimates, we selected Bone Dry because: 1. The only company to bring to our attention that the chimney was damaged and needed repair before the new roof went on. 2. They came highly recommended both by reputation and from Angie's List. Brian Maher, who did the estimate, took time to go over it in its entirety and answer any questions. Once the job got scheduled, it only took 8-10 hours to complete the entire project. My concern is that because of the quantity of work, the quality of work is not there because of the rush to get to the next job. I have a couple of issues: 1. An English speaking job site foreman is only present at the start of the project and at the end of the day. 2. Communication with the large all Hispanic roofing crew is near impossible. If you have a complaint, you have to contact BDR by phone. Response is 2-3 hours later. I'm glad that Keith has made an effort to make things right. He had to come back and fix some things.

A couple of weeks after our roof was completed, a Bone Dry inspector came out to our house at dusk, took a quick look at the roof, told us that everything was done right, and ask for payment. Trusting his word, we paid him $8,000. Several weeks later, we discovered that the gutters had not been fastened down properly after the new roof was installed, and had actually been cut apart by Bone Dry to replace the roof, but the seams were not sealed. We began calling Bone Dry in August to get them to fix the damage they caused to our gutters. Despite repeated calls and e-mails, six weeks have passed, and we're still waiting. Bone Dry has acknowledged the problem, but since they have already been paid, the company is apparently in no hurry to rectify the situation, despite our repeated calls. Meanwhile, our gutters are leaking on our newly painted house, and rain water is pouring from the damaged gutters off the sides of our house and seeping into our basement.

We had used this company in the past to repair a leak at our previous residence. We convinced our builder to use them for our new home. It was a great experience. The crew was fast, professional and the final result looks fantastic!

Job done in two days; good clean up with minimal damage to yard. Only negative is that phone calls are not returned in a timely manner. First contact was in May but took many weeks to get a return call, then many calls later to get questions answered and job scheduled. Finally completed in September. Did come on time when scheduled. Finished job was well done.

I had to wait almost 2 months to get an estimate, because they were so backed up, because of the storms in April of 06, but it was worth the wait. They came out and gave an estimate and when the Insurance Co questioned items, they called the Insurance Co and dealt with them directly and it was resolved. Once the job was approved, I was on their schedule, within a couple weeks. It only took 3 days to complete (because of rain) and they did a good job cleaning up after themselves. I would recommend them to anyone.

I called and they said they couldn't even come out to give a quote for 2 months.

Everyone I dealt with was very knowledgeable of what they were doing and were able to answer any questions I had. The job was delayed by a few days due to rain but was done very quickly and efficiently once it was started. I had dealt with Bone Dry in the past, and they were able to identify a leak problem that had persisted for many years. I knew immediately they would be the ones to call when I needed a new roof! After going through many roofers and masons and an embarrassing amount of money, we finally got it right with Bone Dry! Thanks!

Excellent. No more leaks! They were professionals and showed up when they said they would and finished when they said they would. I couldn't ask for more than that.

They set an appointment on Sept 9th at 1pm and didn't show up. They were suppose to come back Sept 12th and it rained and they couldn't come out and called me to let me know that. They told me that someone would call me back to set another appointment. I called left them a message and Lindsey called me to let me know that Steve and Seth would call me back but never did. I would have appreciated a call back to let me know their situation.

They even came back to double check for me.

I selected Bone Dry because of the ratings provided on Angie's List. While there are definitely issues that occurred that prevent me from giving them an ''A'' rating I would say that the company appears to mean well and at other times I would give them an ''A''. The problem I had was that the organization is difficult to reach in person on the phone. I end up leaving lots of voice-mails. I find this very disappointing. I believe the work the subcontracted crew did was acceptable and reasonable. But, when the crew started work there was no one left at the job site that could speak or understand English. I took 1.5 days of time off from work to be there and found it very frustrating that this was the case. I believe Bone Dry really needs to work on their customer relationship management (switchboard, customer service). Having said that, the representatives from Bone Dry have been nothing but very responsive and professional, but I suspect they are just spread too thin.

The workers arrived around 8:00 am and worked until 8:00 pm the first day and most of the second day. Their work was excellent and they did an excellent job of cleaning up the debris. The debris did kill some of our grass but it all came back without a problem.
