The carpeted the entire basement at my girlfriend's house two months ago. Looked great! Came on time and were in and out in a day. Really makes the basement!! We had a leak in one of the rooms and it got the carpet wet. They told us what to do And then came over once the carpet was dry and laid new pad. There was a couple small issues and they immediately came back and fixed without a question. Allen was the lead guy on the job and was very nice and professional. We would recommend them all day long.

This company is punctual, professional and friendly. They finished our floor in the estimated time and left us with a floor we love. Great product and installation at a price that was lower than our other estimates but without any compromise.

They had good selection and good prices.

Everything went fine with the installation. However, communication became somewhat of a problem. A day after install, or maybe even the same day, while cleaning up areas of excess grout here and there on the tiles, I noticed a fine space between several tiles and the grout and that those tiles would yield at the corner(s) when I pressed with my finger. I called the company and the store staff said the head installer would call to schedule a time when the crew could come back to fix them. The crew did not call first and just showed up unannounced first thing Monday morning. They used a heat gun to reheat the adhesive nd said that should fix the problem. It did not. I called right away, maybe even the same day but no later than a day later and left 4 messages over three or four days, either personally or on their answering machine, before anyone got back to us. I believe the head installer was on vacation which was not a problem, but no one ever told us that. The crew did come back the next week. and replaced and re-grouted several tiles.

I believe they did it for free. It was a little area that needed stretched.

What made me decide to use them was their price and selection. It was very good. They did a great job. They showed up when they said they would. The guys did a quality job. I would use them again.

They had great prices and were almost half the price of the other companies estimates. I couldn't have asked for a better job. They came when they said they would come and worked with my schedule. It was a very pleasant experience.

We recently purchased a home and the carpet was wrinkled in a couple areas of the house. The technician came out and restretched the carpet in the living room, dining room, and hall. He explained to us that the carpet was very old and dryrotted underneath, so we would need to replace it very soon. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. Stretching the carpet caused the seams to show in two of the rooms and he tried to glue them back down, but said the condition of the carpet would factor in the overall appearance. Overall, I am happy with the service.

I called for an estimate and was told someone would get back to me. 2 weeks later I had no response so I called back. An appointment was made and nobody showed or called back. I can't comment on the quality of cost of work because I never got past the estimate stage.

Big Dog Flooring installed a wine barrel flooring in a small wine cellar. They were very reasonably priced, fast and professional. We were very pleased with everything.

We had checked Angie's List for recommended flooring companies. We visited two companies that were A rated, but Big Dog was clearly better prepared, with a showroom that had excellent selections. They answered our questions and gave us samples to take home. After we chose the flooring we wanted, we returned and set up an installation time. We paid 50% of the cost. estimate. We set up a time for installation, and at the end of the job, we paid the remaining cost.

Great! They installed a new floor in our bathroom and stretched the carpet in another room. They were so professional and did a great job. Would have them back anytime.

It looks really nice. They're really nice to work with. They are very efficient. Very professional and nice and they have a big dog who actually came out on the job! Mainly, I think they deal with Armstrong flooring. They have lots of choices.

Visited Big Dog on April 5. Was referred to them by our builder. Our house is approximately 4000 sqft and we were planning on hardwood flooring for all but a few areas. The initial salesperson told me that he did not know a lot about the wood flooring and had me wait on the other salesperson as she was with another customer. After about 20 minutes, the female salesperson assisted me. She was knowledgeable and pleasant. I took 3 samples with me along with the email address to send my house plans and estimate request. On April 10th, I emailed Chip with my estimate request and floor plans. On April 11, he replied that he would work on it that day. On April 26, after no correspondence from Big Dod, I returned my samples. The associate who checked them in did not ask me anything regarding if I had any questions, if I found something I liked, nothing! When I returned to my car I emailed Chip and let him know that I returned the samples and I never heard from him regarding an estimate. Today (April 29), Chip sent an email stating that my info was on his desk and he would work on it in the morning. My reply to him was as follows: Actually Chip, you can cross our estimate off of your list. I feel that 18 days is more than enough time to receive the requested estimate. If I cannot receive an estimate in a reasonable period of time then I can only assume that a purchase/installation of 3000+ sqft of hardwood flooring would not go well. Regards I refuse to harp on a business that is ignoring me. Like my husband says "somebody will take our money!"

We went to Big Dog's to select carpet for our basement. Chad, the owner, and Bernie (the Big Dog) came to our home within a few days to measure the basement and to discuss installation while still utilizing our basement 'french drain'. Chad is a nice man and we felt very comfortable with him in our home. The selected carpet was ordered and we paid half of the cost. The installers arrived on time and the carpet was installed within a few hours. We relocated many of our items in the basement and the installers moved the large furniture (extra cost). Overall we are pleased with the experience with Big Dog and the product we selected.

The owner did the purchasing and we had trouble with the installation with the crew that they sent out. We had to repeatedly have them come back because our neighbors uses the same company at the same time, and they had different people installing. Anybody that uses them, asked for Donie. He was a good installer. I am not comfortable recommending or used them.

Absolutely top-notch. Big Dog Flooring laid new carpet throughout our house - 6 rooms in total - 3 bedrooms, family room, den, living room; plus stairs. Chip came out and measured, gave us an estimate and helped us pick out the new carpet, making sure it fit our needs. The estimate included moving furniture during the installation, which was a plus. The two installers, Joe and Jack, were friendly, professional, and definitely know their trade. They arrived on time, went straight to work, and kept us updated on the progress. Joe made sure that the project was completed to the best appearance and standard. The carpet looks great! No rumples and the stairs look perfect. Their price was reasonable considering the amount of furniture they had to move and scope of the project. Big Dog Flooring is the real deal. Outstanding service. I would use them again in a heart beat.

I called again and still did not receive a call back.

I had no experience with laminate flooring, but the store employees were very helpful in assisting me and giving me a few helpful hints. The inventory was plentiful with many name brands, colors, and styles. The installers, Patty and her husband, Tom, were punctual, friendly, and did a wonderful job. They tore out the old carpet and hauled it away. Tom even repaired some loose tiles in the adjacent foyer and brought in a different molding so the job could be completed in one day. I think what impressed me the most was the way they scooted a huge, heavy china cabinet on sliders. It was too large to remove from the room so it had to be moved out of the way several times during the installation process. Flooring can be purchased at many different retail locations, but installation is equally important for a satisfactory finished remodel!

Our fridge quit working and defrosted on laminate flooring which resulted in water damage. We decided that we would not only replace the kitchen area laminate but also remove the carpeting in the living room and replace it with the same hardwood. Because the entry had the same laminate as the kitchen, it also then had to be replaced. We received estimates from several different places, and we decided to go with Big Dog because they had the flooring we liked the best (a type of wood called sapele). We spoke with Suzan and Chip to determine prices and install dates. Installation was set for September because we were also coordinating a new patio door install. The installation was set for two days. We called the day before to see what time the crew would arrive. We were told around 8 am. They didn't show up until after 8:30 with no phone call explaining why they were late. The crew consisted of Mike, Jesse, John, and another guy. Mike appeared to be the leader. They immediately came in and started moving furniture and setting up their equipment. After they had installed a section, we checked on the progress and discovered that they were going around our kitchen island instead of removing the island and installed underneath. When questioned, Mike got very nasty and said that our cabinet would be destroyed if he tried to take it up. I explained that Chip had said installing underneath was not a problem. Jesse offered to call Chip, and when he returned, he indicated that Chip agreed with Mike's assessment. Later that day, they had to move the fridge onto the new flooring and when returning it to its original location, put huge gouges across the floor. They tried to fix the damage by sawing the already installed boards down the middle and shoving newly cut boards into the spots. After they left, we discovered that there were multiple ends that had buckled up and the whole area was not nailed down. We also marked several spots that needed to be filled in and one board that was only a couple in from the current edge that had a huge chip in it that needed to be replaced. They show up on the second day to finish (late again). Before allowing they to start working, we discussed the issues with them. Mike was beyond rude and unprofessional, so much so that we were ready tell him to get out of our house and find someone else to finish the job. Once again, they indicated they had discussed these issues with Chip and that Chip had given the ok to proceed as they saw fit. They ended up tearing up a large section of the kitchen floor to replace the damage they did when moving the fridge. They grumbled the entire time and made us empty out the fridge. This wouldn't have been an issue, but we were never told that it would be required and had no ice and not enough coolers. Considering that we had just restocked from the defrosted fridge, we were not pleased. At the end of the second day, the entire floor was installed. They said we could not put anything on the floor without having felt on the bottom. Again, this is the first time we had heard anything to that effect, and they made it sound like we had picked an inferior product. They put our furniture back, picked up their stuff, and left. We started looking around at the details after they left. The following are just a few of the things we discovered: did not caulk around quarter-round and baseboards, did not replace some of the damaged/chipped boards in the living room, did not clean up all their trash and/or vacuum the floors, damaged our entertainment center beyond repair with multiple scratches across the top, scratched other furniture pieces, failed to put the pins back in the doors, and melted the centerpieces that had candles when they placed them outside in the sun on our deck. Also, no one mentioned all the indoor sawing that was involved, so we had covered nothing. Everything was covered with sawdust. We were even shaking sawdust out of our toaster. We brought these issues to Suzan's attention on Friday. She sounded shocked and indicated we should have called while the install was going on. Frankly, the crew said they were talking to Chip, so we didn't feel like we needed to call too. We discussed the issues with Chip on Monday. Chip was truly appalled and gave us a partial refund ($700) plus a gift certificate to a restaurant. We were happy with his response, but the fact is, we never should have had these problems. He also had another crew return to our house at a time convenient to us to fix the dents and caulk. Over the holidays (when decorating), we have discovered that they actually busted the entire hinge on our entertainment center. We did find out from the guys who finished the caulk that Chip fired the other crew. The second team was the team originally scheduled to do our install, but one of them had a death in the family, so Chip hired the others. I wish that he would have called and rescheduled. We would absolutely give them an "F" for the entire installation experience, but Chip gets an "A" for his response. They were the highest price estimate that we received, but picked them based on the previous Angie's List reviews. Despite loving our floors, we would not use them again.

Having your floors torn up in your living room, study and hallway is always stressful but Big Dog did their best to make it a good experience for me. I got quotes from multiple places and the owner Chip, gave me the best deal. So good that I was worried about "hidden" costs. He assured me that the quote was the price I'd be charged. Well, the house I married into is older and anytime we have work done some kind of problem comes up. Unfortunately, this situation was no different. My subflooring was some type of cork that absorbed moisture like a sponge and it had to be replaced. In order to save me money, Chip and his crew had me pay for only the materials, which amounted to a bunch of plywood. I was given a HUGE break on all the labor that went into the extra work involved. The finished job looks great ! My wife and I feel much better with our year old twins crawling on our new floor. Thanks Big Dog for all your hard work

From the helpful staff at the store to the hard working carpet layers this is a an excellent choice to anyone looking for new carpet. I live in a 24 year house that still had its "Deluxe" Homes cheap carpet. After 24 years of husband, kids, dogs, spilled food and drinks - I was ready to upgrade and get a carpet that could take us another 24 years! Big dog sales staff has a professional - take your time - no rush attitude. My neighbor and I spent over an hour - looking at carpet samples - discussing pros and cons - with staff. And because I am a loyal Angies List customer - I got a discount on the carpet I chose. When the big day came to have my carpet installed, two very nice, clean men showed up on time, remembered they were in my home and worked fast and hard. It was an excellent experience.

I was stunned recently when I learned that Big Dog had responded with a blatant lie to a review I had provided about their service back in the fall. I had made an appointment for an assessment of three floors for tear out and retiling. I arranged my day so I could be home to meet them. However they called very near to the scheduled time to arrive that day, and told me they would have to cancel, and would check their calendar and call me back. No one called me back to schedule a new time. Big Dog said they did try to reschedule--which is a blatant lie. They also retaliated for the negative review by stating the customer was rude. Quite frankly, if someone rearranges her work day to be home to give you a job opportunity and you call at the last minute to cancel, most reasonable people would consider that rude -- and unprofessional, poor service and shoddy business practice. In researching Big Dog's reviews, the owner reacts defensively to any rating below an A. Beware of Dog!

The sales person and installers were all very professional and we were not high pressured. Three installers were on time and completed the work in about a day and a half. I felt their prices were comparable with other retailers. I feel we got a good value for our money.

Big Dog Flooring was the company we looked into have carpet installed in our home. After having the floors measured, the price proved to be extremely high for as little as we were getting done. We didn't really do much shopping around for other quotes, but the price just seemed to be extremely high. They were very nice and professional. If we ever have the kind of money I would use them.
