Description of Work: THIS COMPANY CALLED AND SAID THEY WANTED TO GIVE US A DEMONSTRATION OF THEIR PRODUCT. FIRST OFF, I SAID I NEVER MAKE A DECISION ON THE DAY OF THE PRESENTATION. THEY SAID THEY UNDERSTOOD AND SAID THAT THEY WOULD NEED APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES OF OUR TIME. AFTER A 2 HOUR PRESENTATION MY WIFE HAD TO GO AND FINISH HER WORK. HE REFUSED TO LEAVE AN ESTIMATE. WE HELD OUR END OF THE BARGAIN. HE THEN COLLECTED THE MATERIAL AND LEFT. THEY WERE ABOUT AN HOUR LATE FOR THE APPOINTMENT.

+ -1 moreI GOT THE IMPRESSION FROM WHAT THE SALESMAN SAID THAT THEY HAD A LONG SALES PITCH AND WOULD PRESSURE US TO MAKE AN IMMEDIATE DECISION. I DISLIKE THIS WAY OF DOING BUSINESS - TORTURE THE CUSTOMER INTO SUBMISSION.
Description of Work: SALESMAN CAME OUT AND DIDNT WANT TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE BECAUSE MY WIFE WASNT HERE TO HEAR HIS SALES PITCH. HE WANTED TO KNOW IF I WAS ABLE TO DECIDE TO BUY TONIGHT AND I TOLD HIM I WOULD DISCUSS THEIR PRODUCT WITH MY WIFE AND THAT I WAS GOING TO GET ANOTHER ESTIMATE. I TOLD HIM I WANTED TO KNOW HOW HIS PRODUCT WORKED (GUTTER COVERS), AN ESTIMATE OF THE COST AND THAT I DIDNT WANT A 3 HOUR SALES PITCH. I ASKED IF HE COULD LEAVE SOME BROCHURES AND HE SAID HE HAD NONE. HE KEPT PROBING TO SEE WHEN MY WIFE WOULD BE HOME SO I TOLD HIM HE WOULD HAVE TO TALK TO ME ALONE OR JUST FORGET IT. HE SAID THEY WOULD JUST FORGET IT AND LEFT.

MEMBER DID FOLLOW UP WITH FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AND FOUND THAT THE SALESMAN'S INTERPRETATION OF CONTRACT WAS WRONG.

+ -1 moreHE ALSO RAN WATER OVER IT TO SHOW ME THAT IT WORKED. THEIR GUTTER GUARDS MAY BE FINE BUT CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE WARNED ABOUT INADEQUATE GUTTERS BEFORE CONTRACTING THIS JOB. WATER CONTINUED TO POUR OFF THE GUTTERS AND I FOUND THEM FILLED WITH LEAVES UPON CHECKING IN THE FALL, 2002. SHO-PRO CAME OUT AND SAID THAT THEY GUTTERS WERE HOPELESSLY BENT AND THAT HE WOULD PUT ON A NEW GUTTER. GREAT BECAUSE I THOUGHT THAT WAS WHAT IT NEEDED ALL ALONG AND HAD SAID SO. I ASKED FOR 6" GUTTERS AND SAID THAT I WOULD PAY THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 5 AND 6" GUTTERS. ALSO IF NEW FASCIA WAS NEEDED I WOULD PAY FOR THAT. IT TOOK THEM A LONG TIME TO GET OUT, SOME OF IT DUE TO THE WEATHER, FINALLY, JOHN CAME OUT AND DID IT. HE DID A GOOD JOB. THIS WAS PUT ON IN TWO SECTIONS BECAUSE HIS TRUCK WASNT LONG ENOUGH FOR A 20 SECTION. SHO-PRO ATTEMPTED TO MAKE THE SITUATION RIGHT, IT JUST TOOK A LONG TIME. I HOPE THIS FIXES THE PROBLEM OF WATER POURING OUT OF THE GUTTERS WHERE IT LEAKS INTO THE BASEMENT.
Description of Work: INSTALLED 20 OF GUTTER GUARD. SHO-PRO OF INDIANA, INC. ADVERTISES THE "ORIGINAL GUTTER PROTECTOR" MY GUTTER WAS BENT AND WATER POURED OFF DURING HEAVY RAIN. THE SALESMAN CHRIS SOLD ME ON THE FACT THAT THEY WOULD FIX THE GUTTER BEFORE PUTTING ON THE GUARDS. BECAUSE OF THE COST I OPTED TO ONLY DO 20 FOOT. I PAID 1/2 OF THE JOB FOR A "SAME-DAY-SIGNUP DISCOUNT". CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE WARNED THAT THEY NEED TO SEEK ANOTHER GUTTER EXPERT TO BE SURE THAT THEIR EXISTING GUTTERS ARE WORKING TO CAPACITY AND THAT THEY ONLY NEED A GUARD TO KEEP LEAVES AND DEBRIS OUT. THEY PUT THE GUARD ON A GUTTER THAT WAS TWISTED AND WHICH THEY ATTEMPTED TO FIX. SLOW AT RETURNING PHONE CALLS AND SLOW TO DO THE JOB. I DID NOT PAY THE OTHER HALF UPON INSTALLATION WAITING TO SEE IF THIS WORKED. AT FIRST THE ESTIMATOR THREATENED TO PUT A LIEN ON MY HOUSE--LATER RETRACTED BY THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. IN A FEW WEEKS I CALLED TO SEE IF WE COULD RESOLVE IT AND THEY SENT MIKE BACK OUT TO TRY TO LEVEL AND IMPROVE IT.
