Description of Work: We had water come up through our basement floor drains after a heavy rain storm. I sent B&W an email through Angie's List and they called me first thing the next morning and set an appointment for the next day. The technician called when he was on his way and arrived promptly. He evaluated that the problem was that our backflow valve is broken and quoted us $1800 for a replacement. We would have liked to be presented with alternate options so will be getting other bids.

Description of Work: The first time they came, they weren't prepared to do the work needed. But they were happy to re-schedule. On the new date, they arrive promptly, did the work very professionally and cleaned up afterwards.

Description of Work: replaced main line shut-off valve. He checked all the lines and checked water meter. He explained what needed to be done to correct the leak and low water pressure. We agreed on cost and he completed work and checked all faucets to make sure they were working before he left. So far no problems.

Description of Work: The gentleman did a HVAC system inspection for the fall/winter and set me up for the spring/summer inspection. He was very courteous and professional, arrived when he said he would and called ahead to let me know he was about 30 minutes out. He explained what he was doing and what he found. No repairs were required but he did replace the filter. I would have no problem recommending B&W to my friends.

Description of Work: During a remodel they were called to upgrade the HVAC. They gave me a quote to change present system to be zoned system. Later they decided that would not work and recommended adding a second heat pump system upstairs with the current furnace and air conditioner supplying the down stairs. The job was to start on Monday, May 19th and take two technicians one week. First off they started three days late, with only one technician on the job. He worked two days then didn't come back until Tuesday of the next week, that is how it went for the next eight weeks. Seldom more than one technician and only on my job a couple days each week. Several times he left early to do service calls for other customers and one week he didn't come at all. On July 3rd I received a text they were all wrapped up, but a quick walk thru and I was very displeased. Everything from a non-functioning humidistat, to no air flow to some rooms, registers that could not be opened, the wrong type duct material used in basement and a duct that was no longer supplying a register left uncapped and blowing air. The guys who came back to follow up on my complaints found more wrong than I did and were diligent making corrections. The humidistat had worked before they started but had to be disconnected for this job, they lost some parts and tried to replace the control with a different brand, it didn't work. In the end I supplied a new humidistat and was assured the original would be returned to me to use as a spare, that never happened. I was also told since this whole job was so messed up that they "Would Take Care of Me". That was July 19th. October 8th, I had heard nothing, my old Humidistat had not been returned and I had not received an invoice. I called one of the two guys I spoke to last from the company and left a message. He was prompt in his reply and sent an invoice for the full amount, but no humidistat. I guess that is how they take care of you. One final note, I don't believe insulation board, stuck together with duct tape is a good way to fabricate a bonnet for an furnace like these guys do it. |

Description of Work: Drain clog (tree roots?) removal. Plumber's first estimate for work- drain clearing with roto rooter was $150-175, after he started - then he doubled the charge because it took him two hours-as he had started with the wrong size roto rooter. Afterwards, he kept telling me I needed to buy a new toilet- from him (that was not the problem- it did not cause the clog)- it was fine tree roots in the drain line out to the septic tank. He was very clean and neat in his work- but I did not like that he doubled the price.
