I built and moved in to my 2600 sq ft home November 2008. Had issues with HVAC system, neither builder nor contractor who installed system could find anything wrong. Bills for gas and electric were totally outrageous at $400/mo and $120/mo, respectively. Heat set on 75 and I still froze! Since builder offered no assistance with fixing my issue, I contacted 3 HVAC companies to take a look at my system. All HVAC companies were Angie?s List Award winners. 2 of the 3 companies told me my duct work was not installed properly and needed to be moved around a little. The quotes I received were over $2500 each. The 3rd company, B&W Heating and Cooling, sent their tech, Jeremy to check out my concern. He stated my furnace was sized properly for my house and with being on a slab and having 12? ceilings, I would probably always be cold. He suggested that changing the registers to ?high velocity registers? might help as the heat would be directed towards the floor rather than the ceiling. With nothing to lose ? I did. I immediately noticed a difference. It was well worth the $450 I paid for those vents! Thermostat subsequently was turned down to 70 and I was comfortable. With the good luck and wonderful service I received from B&W, in Feb 2010 I contracted with them for yearly maintenance on my furnace. When Dan, the tech, came I mentioned that my gas and electric bills were extremely high and he quickly dove into action. He didn?t do much - adjusted the dampers on the dual zone system and cleaned humidifier and programmed it properly (it ran constantly), but the changes he made, made a world of difference. Proof?March 2009 gas bill was $469; March 2010 gas bill is $193. And, to top it all off, an unexpected surprise ? March 2009 electric bill was $120; March 2010 electric bill is $58. Needless to say, I am a VERY happy camper!!! A big THANK YOU to B&W for being compassionate (and not degrading like the builder) about my issue and for actually SOLVING my heat problem. I highly recommend B&W for heating and cooling needs. They have my business for life!

I called at 8 am for service. I told them the sump pump wouldn't stop running and the earliest I could be home for service was 4:30 pm. I was promptly scheduled. The plumber called when he was on his way and arrived about 4:45 pm. The problem was able to be corrected simply and an explanation was given as to how it happened. He was professional and answered my questions. I would use B & W Plumbing again.

We had our water filtration system installed by Plumber Dave. He was on time and professional. We will call again with any future problems. Fantastic service.

They did good work and they could some out on short notice, which I appreciated. Their prices, however, were high. The materials list they showed me seemed high, and the hourly rate was higher than what was quoted. They rounded up the hours and therefore the price up by around $40, and although I was happy with the work, I would not use them again for that reason.

The job took less than an hour and a half and we now have good hot water flow to the kitchen sink; it was a trickle before this work was done. The cost of the job was at the low end of the quote, and Dave is always very professional.

The Saturday morning after Christmas I called a plumbing company that I had used recently for drain cleaning. I got an out-of-state emergency answering service. I then viewed Angie's list for plumbers close to where I lived. I came across B & W, saw their excellent rating, remembered having heard them advertise on WIBC and decided to call them. The receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. When I told her the brand of waterheater (Whirlpool) she explained to me about the special "reverse threads" parts it took that I would have to obtain from either Lowes or Whirlpool. She called Dave to the phone to further discuss the "special" parts needed. To shorten the story, I picked up the needed BFG-Kit from Lowes and had Dave install it. I watched Dave perform the installation and he gladly explained everything to me. My B & W Plumbing experience was great. I did think the price was a little high but I was able to use an Angie's List $25 coupon that helped. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I got prompt, friendly, competent service!

They charged $540 for parts and labor. All my experiences with B & W have been good. They are always pretty much on time. They have always come when they say they are going to come. If I had something negative to say about B & W, they are probably a little higher priced than some other companies.

I called about 8:15am and the dispatcher said she would have someone out that morning. She was able to work around my having an appointment until about 9:30. The serviceman appeared at the door right at 9:30. He quoted their standard price for the service as $304 (before the coupon). He got one of the pipes thawed quickly but found the other one more problematic because of a prior fix. So he resorted to the important plumber's tool - a hair dryer! It worked like a charm. He also talked to me about what was causing the pipes to be vulnerable and how to prevent the freeze again until a better long term fix can be done in the Spring. If it had gone as quickly as he'd thought it would, the price might have been a bit high. But since he had to work on it for about 2-3 hours, I thought it was worth it.

We are very happy with the service.

They were prompt, fixed the problem and replaced the part. The price also includes a maintenance package. The repair itself was around $100.

Dave was prompt, courteous, and professional. He inspected and explained some questions I had regarding the drains and faucet, cleaned the check ball in the basement, and did an exceptional job draining the water heater, cleaning it of sediment that had accumulated in the bottom of it. I was very pleased with the service.

It was a positive experience. The tech arrived about 15 minutes into the estimated window, and worked quickly and efficiently, it looked like the issue was going to be resolved in about 15 minutes, but it turned into a larger project when we realized the control board was bad. The tech estimated the board cost (about $150 below the actual cost), and went to pick up the board. When he returned, he replaced the board quickly as well. The tech offered excellent preventative maintenance tips, and even left a furnace filter for us. I would recommend B&W for prompt, courteous service, although their price seems a bit high.

We called 7-8 different places, and B&W gave us the lowest ballpark estimate over the phone, which they confirmed then on site the next day (about $150-$200 less than other companies). Our sales person Brad and the technician Dan couldn't have been more polite, down-to-earth and professional. We have no reservations about using this company again in the future.

I thought B & W Plumbing & Heating was a little over priced. They did tell me the price before they did the work, but I needed it done so I went with them. I don't know a whole lot about the company. I am going to have them come back out because I think they put the fixtures on wrong. Normally you would turn the levers out to turn the water on, and down to turn them off. They did the opposite, and to me that is wrong.

Everything was fine, but the price jumped almost $50 from the previous year.

He was fine. The guy came when he said he was going to come. He was competent. He completed the work fast. I was happy with the work he did. He was expensive. He charged $160 after using the Angie?s List coupon. I have not priced it anywhere else.

I called several people, and I couldn?t get a lot of them because they wouldn?t come out because they were too busy in the summer but these people came out. They were really good people. They called me and said that they couldn?t get there till the next day but they actually got there that evening. Their price was reasonable too. When the condensing unit went out, they could have told us that we needed a whole new system but the guy was very honest - he told me that we just needed a condensing unit. During the winter season, the tenants didn?t know how to work the thermostat, and B & W were honest again, and helped them to get it working. I would rate them highly and would use them in the future.

B&W was very responsive and informed me of my options. My humidifier is very old, but they were able to service it in a way that will extend its life (without trying to sell me a new one). When considering whether to go with a water heater with a tank or a tankless one, they were very helpful in explaining the pros and cons. I am very happy with this company and will use them again.

We have used them for several years now. We have had good results with them. They are always punctual. Their prices are reasonable. They do a fairly good job. They take some time to do the job.

Fantastic! I FINALLY got to use the washer and dryer I just got! He was even nice enough to make sure there were no leaks after running the washer for a cycle.

Dave the plumber from B&W was professional and extremely fast. I have never had as good experience with a plumber! The work was well done and affordable.The price was further reduced by our online coupon.

I could not figure out what was wrong with my water heater. There was a problem with the light. He fixed that and afterwards he showed me everything and explained how I could do it myself because I was not able to manage it on my own. That was helpful because I did not have to call him after that. He did not charge me anything other than the coming out fee.

Our kitchen sink drain was making gurgling noises a few seconds after running water down it. I called B&W based on their ratings. Two technicians arrived and listened to the drain. They stated that it was most likely a venting problem, not a clog. They said if they snaked out the drain, it might not help. Because I had some minor success when I snaked it out myself, I told them to go ahead and do it (since I was already paying for the $80 service visit, I figured I might as well pony up an extra $40 to have them actually try something). As it turned out, it didn't help. They did recommend a solution that involved installing an air intake valve under the sink but didn't have one on their truck. I also had a list of several major plumbing projects for which I wanted estimates - including modifying a softener drain connection and connecting the softener to the cold water plumbing. He wrote quick estimates for both after briefly checking the existing connections. My list was longer but I got the sense he was rushing through it, so I decided to cut it short. PROS: They were on time and honest about whether the drain cleaning would even help. CONS: My concern was really how they treated me as a customer -- I got the sense that I just wasn't important to them. He kept talking about how his next customer was way across town and he was going to be late. He even said that he gets paid by the job, not by the hour, and said he wasn't really making any money on my visit. He did write estimates for a couple of my smaller jobs, but I just felt that he wasn't really listening to me and offering the best solutions. Overall, I think they did OK with the minor problem but I would have below-average confidence in hiring them for bigger jobs.

I called to get some advicve on water heater. The lady was very profeesional , courtious and precise. She was very freindly and knowlededgable.

They were excellent. They were responsive and professional. They showed up when they said they would. They did not overcharge. They did an excellent job and they did it right. They were friendly. The cost was close to $600.00 the first time for the removal of the hot water heater and the replacement of the faucet. The second time it would be some dollars. I hate to grant a judgment like that, but I think for what they did, I wasn't overcharged. I don't know what the competition would have charged.
