Amerifence

This company has been a joy to deal with. From the owner, to the office staff, to the workmen.They dig down 3 ft and install concrete so I'm confident the fence will hold up in our Indiana weather. I had some changes after they started and they made the changes I requested. My only complaint is that a couple of the posts were damaged along the side and didn't have a sharp edge but they were placed in an area that wouldn't be seen and one of the pieces of hardware was installed crookedly. I am a property manager and deal with many contractors and I would definitely recommend this company to anyone considering a quality fence.

We were really happy with them. They were quick, affordable and professional. We checked out two other providers and Amerifence gave us the lowest bid. I would rate them highly and would use them in the future.

They were professional and punctual. They were very willing to work with us on the price too. We had an issue with the work and it took them a while to fix it.

They did a great job. Fence installed in 1 day. They have come out a couple times to replace some of the fencing. It is nice that they give you a 2 year warranty.

It was a good experience. The owner himself actually came out and gave us an estimate. They were very reasonably priced in comparison with four different estimates and the quality of the fence was better than everyone else.

They were good. They actually did the work as they reported that they would do it. They told us that they would sink the fence support three feet into the ground and they actually did that. We even saw them do it. The quality was what we expected it to be.

The workers showed up early morning -- it was raining so I wasn't sure if they could work, but they stayed all day and when I came home around 3:00 pm, they were packed up and gone already! (so they did a great job in no time -- you could tell they just had a pattern and it worked well for them!) They did a good job. We had other quotes from home improvement stores, etc. that were $10K+, so this worked out well in the end. Unfortunately, this price does not include the staining/treating of the wood. I would use them again.

They came out on a day that it rained (I mean it rained all day) and they made a complete mess of our yard. They didn't finish and said they would be back the next day. Almost three(3) weeks later they finally showed up to finish the job and really didn't do that great a job. Would never have them again.

Excellent! Mike helped us identify a fence that was a good match for our home and neighborhood. We thought we needed to do a more expensive style of fence for it to match our house and Mike showed us much more economical options that would look great. And guess what? He has an excellent eye and the fence looks terrific! Amerifence came in and removed the old fence and installed the new one all in one day. They did an excellent job removing the parts of the old fence. The only thing we would have liked to have seen was to have them even out the dirt where they dug holes. We had several mounds of dirt left around the yard. But all in all, we are very satisfied with the work.

I worked with Bill to install a very nice 4 foot cedar fence. Their crew was excellent and worked without pause. In addition, they made several adjustments to the fence to enhance the appearance and to allow for needed clearance around trees.

The work itself went very well. We did QUITE A BIT of pre-work to ensure that everything went well during installation. Bill Speek was very responsive and made sure that everything went off without a hitch. The installers worked quickly and efficiently and were very responsive to my questions. They managed to make sure that my neighbors were satisfied as well. I paid extra to have the dirt hauled away from where the fence posts went it (this appears to be standard operating procedure) for local fence companies.

Due to previous problems that we had with Amerifence, Mr. Speek agreed to make this warranty repair hassle free. And that he did! He went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy customers, walking through with his contractor and myself to insure that all boards that we wanted replaced were replaced. They replaced all of the boards that we had problems with, including those with an enormous amount of sap. He even left us extra caps in case the ones that we currently have split as our old ones did. He also followed up with a telephone call to insure that everything was done to our satisfaction. He stood beside his two year warranty in every way. He more than made up for previous problems, and I am happy to once again be able to recommend their company.

THE WORKERS ARRIVED IN THE MORNING. UNFORTUNATELY NONE OF THEM SPOKE FLUENT ENGLISH. MY HUSBAND WAS SO UPSET HE CALLED THE OFFICE. THERE WERE CHANGES THAT WAS MADE TO THE AREA THAT WE COULD FENCE DUE TO A SWALE LINE. THE MEASUREMENTS HAD CHANGE WE COULD NOT COMMUNICATE THAT TO THE MEN. MY HUSBAND WAS TOLD BY THE OFFICE SECRETARY THE MEN KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. MY HUSBAND TOLD HER HE WANTED TO SPEAK WITH MIKE. MIKE CAME TO THE WORK SITE AND CALL THE HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION IN ORDER FOR OUR FENCE TO GO INTO THE AREA WE ORIGINALLY PLANNED. THE MEN WORKED QUICKLY, THEIR AUGER BROKE, THEY DUG THOSE HOLES BY HAND.I APPRECIATED THEY REMOVED THEIR TRASH ALSO WHEN THE JOB WAS DONE.

We decided to hire them to build a cedar privacy fence at our home. After agreeing on the price of the work we had a verbal and written agreement that we could not start the work until I had authorization from my Home Owners Association. We agreed on giving them a check for 50% down, or $1700, but we also had a verbal agreement that they would not cash the check until I heard back from the H.O.A. I told them I would not know anything from the association until 7/25/07 and they specifically told me they would hold the check. Well, come to find out they cashed the check and opened a line of credit for me on the other $1700. I feel like I have lost a lot of trust for this company and it is a shame because I was looking forward to working with them. I have tried to call and they seem to avoiding us.

Amerifence arrived on time with all the materials required for our fence, and also two neighbors' fences as well. Each fence had their own crew, and each was expertly installed to perfection. The worker's only stopped for a very short lunch break, and were back to work until almost 8:00 that evening, not leaving until the job was done completely. We had requested an arbor to be built over our front gate, adding more time to the job, but that also was completed on the same day. The workers were courteous, taking time out to answer any questions that we had. All three families were quite pleased with Amerifence with no complaints.

A+++ from start to finish. From the bidding process with Jennifer, the office's scheduling accommodation when we had a delay in our HOA approval, to the day of install when Mike personally visited to ease my concerns about placement near the property line, to the actual install with Margo and crew, to handling a design adjustment on one of our gates after install, Amerifence provided us with EXACTLY what we wanted and needed in fencing style, quality, and service. (And we've built several fences over the yrs.!) The competitors couldn't do it! The competitors could only do certain styles, but Amerifence offers a wide variety of options in style and does a clean, careful installation process! We were duly impressed and are EXTREMELY SATISFIED with the finished product and with the service Jennifer, Mike, and crew offered from start-to-finish!! Very responsive and gave us EXACTLY what WE wanted in our fence. Go with this company if you want something unique, stylish, and well done!

Between estimate and installation, time was 3 weeks until completed. Decks were completed on time and looked beautiful as we had expected. Fencing took a bit longer due to the lack of availability of the split rail fencing we needed. However, Mike took a great deal of effort to get us what we wanted and to make any changes we felt we needed. The decking team did a phenomenal job on the decks. They arrived on time each day and were highly skilled.

After calling and setting up an appointment for a week later with Frank he did not show up. I was given another date, but he didn't show up then either. After several phone calls, I finally received a telephone call back from Mike who informed me that they were very busy and didn't have time to fix my gate. Because I was having a hot tub delivered through the broken gate, it was critical that the job was completed before the delivery. I gave them three weeks notice to complete the job. After I was forced to get nasty on the phone, they finally came out the morning just before the delivery. It is a shame that they only way that they will respond is when you threaten them. My friends have had the same problems with them. What good is a warranty when you can't get the company to respond to problems?

Due to rainy weather, the fence installation was done once we moved in to our new home. They were so quick! The fence looks great and is exactly where we specified. They have a large crew and worked very efficiently.

Mike (the owner) personally came to our house and checked the site out. Nice guy and punctual also; not to mention a very competitive price. A little tough to reach by phone, but always friendly (which covers many sins). The gents who did the work were skilled and quick; they cleaned up the area well. Good work and a good experience.

The quality of the fence is wonderful, but I had some issues with customer service. Frank failed to show or call for 2 appointments. Amerifence called to state that the crew was on its way, and we waited for over an hour for the crew to show up. They built a wonderful fence.

Mike came out twice, once to give me an estimate, and once more to bring out his book and explain the options to my husband. He was very nice and knowledgeable. The price was about the same as other companies, but they had many more style options. We also liked the smooth cedar (no splinters) rather than the rough. They said a survey wasn't required, but we had one anyway and are glad we did. The installers would have put the fence anywhere! The work site was left messy; cigarette butts, chunks of cement mix, and some nails on the ground. After a long hot day the guys were really ready to leave, but we insisted on walking the fence. We had them replace a couple of boards which they did without complaint. The wood is feathered where it was cut for the mortise and tenon. The contract indicated that they don't remove the dirt, but we had no idea how much it would be (our own fault)! For each post, there is about a medium size wheelbarrow full of clay. It's taking us forever to remove.

We had few problems with Amerifence; it was the subcontractor we had problems with. It is my understanding that the subcontractor used on our job will no longer be used by the company. Our biggest problem is that there was a delay in starting the installation of our fence and they failed to notify us of this delay. The price they charged was on par with other vinyl fencing companies we received quotes from.

The crew that did the work did not speak English. The crew removed the old fence and replaced it with the new fence in 5 hours. The work was fast but roughshod. They left large piles of heavy clay soil wherever they dug. They broke off old posts at ground level and left splintered shards sticking out of the ground. They did not pay attention to detail in construction. Nails were visible and crooked. The arches of the gates were not even, they were cut without a template. The fence was not plumb. The downspout was pulled away from the house to accommodate the installation and left to hang leaning away from the house. The gate latches were installed on the inside of the gate making it inconvenient to access. My complaints were met with the comment that I had a quality product but that they would fix the arch of the gate and install a two way latch. After several unpleasant calls with the owner, they came out to fix a few of the problems but left just as many.

The fence looks fine. The worksite was left in sloppy condition. The driveway was stained with white mixture. I have called about this, but have not received a response.
