I chose them over another pretty much identical contractor because they didn't use concrete, which I thought would only crack over time. The polyethylene rises and lowers with the water. When they put the doors in, I hadn't yet had my electrician do the wiring for the sump pump. They ran an extension cord through the door. The electrician found it to be all bent. Their price was comparable to the others.
Description of Work: They encapsulated the crawlspace with polyethylene liner. This included waterproofing and the sump pump. They also put new doors on the crawlspace entrance.

I wish I could give them an A minus, but I'll round it up to an A. Our basement walls are cinderblock masonry, and for the 8 years we've owned the home, we've had water issues on the west side wall. The problem is compounded by poor grading on the patio. We had a number of engineers and foundation companies make recommendations. Finally we decided that of all the solutions an interior drain line installed along the bottom of the wall, imbedded in the concrete floor, was probably best and would not risk the integrity of the wall itself. Two vendors gave us estimates for this solution and Americrawl was almost $1k under the other. They seemed less pushy and Bob, the estimator, certainly knew the situation well. They got us scheduled quickly. The crew arrived on time. (Bob was not present, which is always a shame in these situations, but quite common.) In any case, the guys called me about 6 hours later and I came home from the office to find them packed up and ready to leave. When they showed me the new drain line and the new sump pump installed as well, I noticed they stopped about 4 feet short of the entire length of the wall. I said I thought they were supposed to run the drain the entire length of the wall. The very young supervisor said they were to stop at the sump pump. I suggested we look at the drawing on the estimate. Without protesting to me, but with a lot of frustration toward each other, they got their tools back out of the truck, jack hammered out the remaining 4 feet and installed the rest of the drain as drawn on the estimate. Because I had to hold them to their own blue print, I'd be tempted to give them no better than a B. But bottom line - even with all the snow, ice, and nonstop rain we've had since, the back of my basement is completely dry. We'd call them again.
Description of Work: "AkwaGard" drain line and "Amerisump" installed along basement wall to eliminate water seeping in through concrete block basement wall.

Somebody referred them to me. They haven't done the work yet. I have put down a down payment. The quote was for $5425.00. They are very knowledgeable and professional. They gave a military discount. A friend of mine who used them really liked them so I used them. They were right on time.
Description of Work: Americrawl provided me with a quote for putting a whole drainage system in my basement, a new sump pump, and they are doing something with my gutters to move them away from the house into a quarry of some kind and all kinds of stuff. They are in Indianapolis.

Since they refuse to install a new pump at no charge I'm not satisfied. I have no expertise in installing drains and pumps so I expect the professionals to do it correctly. WRONG
Description of Work: They installed a french drain and waterproofing along the side of my house. They also installed an exterior sump pump and pump pit. Unfortunately, we learned the hard way that the pump was improperly installed sitting on the gravel they put in the pit. This allowed silt and gravel from the bottom to get into the pump and ruin it allowing water to infiltrate my lower level. They refuse to admit that it was improperly installed but changed the way they installed a new one. I feel the cot of repairs should be their responsibility. They say the pump had a 2 year warranty. I understand that but shouldn't the original installation be expected to perform beyond that time if it was done correctly?

Adam arrived exactly on time to inspect the damage and provide an estimate. After applying the Angie's List discount, the total was less than I anticipated, so we scheduled the work. When the work day arrived, the crew called ahead to let me know they were en route, and upon arriving got right to work. They sistered the floor joists, installed new band joists (headers), jacked up the floor to allow insertion of the new sill plate, and hey presto, damage repaired. The crew did excellent work and left the basement area as clean and orderly as when they arrived.

They put some insulation under the kitchen floor in the crawl space. They did a beautiful and neat job under the crawl space. What they did has kept the water out. I did this because I had mold and this is a solution to avoid mold from reappearing. They accidently cut the cable when they tried to cut the pipe. They tried to repair it and they did not know what they were doing.
Description of Work: I used Americrawl Inc two years ago to install a sump pump in my crawl space and installed plastic all around the crawl space very neatly so that any water that came in would stand underneath this plastic and the sump pump would take it out and it went down my yard. It worked very well during this last rain. It was tested thoroughly.

We liked what they had in their mind but it was kind of expensive and we decided not to do it. We had not done anything exactly and we had taken some others estimates. It was all about the stats and it was just expensive as it was going to be prowling in terms of house value. It was going to be large percentage of what the house was worth and we were still kind of thinking about the idea if we really wanted to do or not. They were good people and I didn't have any problem with them at all. It didn't look like we wanted to get that much money involved in it now. Fact of the matter was that I'm retired and we were trying to best the place up to keep it going in good shape. We couldn't put that much money in it. We put $5000-$6000 into dyeing and insulation in the house. We haven't got to the concept of crawl spaceship. All things considered we decided, it was very expensive for us now and we don?t want to do it. They were fine. They had somebody come out and get under to have looked around it. We also had other company coming out but even that was more expensive. If we decide that we got that much money, then they are definitely in the list. We have to get new quotes as its very old quote now.
Description of Work: AMERICRAWL INC had whole plan of keeping the water out of the crawl space and putting in the better system of drainage; so that it could drain in the pit quicker before it could get in the crawl space. They found place in the wall that was not really well done. The house is forty year old so it has its negative side. Last time they came out to give the quote was over a year ago.

I am quite happy with the crawl space. We wanted them to install a side door, and they missed a couple of things, but otherwise everything is fine. As far as I know, the sump pump is working well. The encapsulation is great. All that was excellent; they just missed some of the wood that had some water damage to it. The 90% of the wood had some water damage to it and I actually got one more joist that I need to fix myself. I am pretty well pleased with their job. They had the job done in 2 days, until I had the reason that I got underneath there and took a closer look. I had no idea that they had missed just a couple of things, but everything else is fine. They were fast and prompt; there was not much hassle. My overall experience was very good. The pricing was somewhere in the middle. I could have got it worked cheaper, but the ones who were cheaper; I did not like what they had. I liked the material and stuff they had. I picked them because I had 3 different people come out, and I picked Americrawl Inc. because I thought they had the best system. Except for missing a little bit of wood work downstairs, I think they have done a good job. I did not contact them for the missing wood work because I just noticed it a few weeks ago and so I did not really felt the need to call about it. I just thought that this was something that I can take care of; so I was not worried too much about it. As soon as it warms up a little bit more, I may go underneath and just double check everything else that they have done. I have already repaired the part of what they need to do because the couple of joists that they missed were right underneath my side door. I was installing my side door and I had to fix that immediately, so I can get my side door installed. I had no side door; so I could not wait for them to come out and take a look at it. I had to fix it immediately to get my door installed. They were pretty responsive. They got the work done pretty quick and on-time. I will probably use them in the future if needed.
Description of Work: Americrawl Inc. did my crawl space. They did the Clean Space encapsulation system; put some joists and things like that. They put a sump pump and they did the whole thing. They dug around and put the drain pipes in around the foundation and installed the sump pump and put a bubbler in the front yard. This was done in October or November of last year.

Great. Quick, and honest. Very nice man
Description of Work: I called the company and someone came out very quickly to assess water damage to my basement. The gentleman was honest and told me I didn't need to hire him, until I wanted to spend a few grand for a whole system to keep the basement dry. He gave me some tips on keeping water out in the meantime. Also let me know what the fuzzy debris was and where it was coming from. I really appreciated the info and we plan on calling him when we are ready to do an extensive basement remodel.

We called this company at Indianapolis North location. After leaving a message, the person was quick to respond and set up a schedule. The person arrived, did the assessment, and called me. He said, "buddy, I cannot write you an assessment, because your job is too small." Then, he continued "For this kind of job, we cannot even justify moving our crews to work on your job". Note that our job was in *NO* sense a small job to us, after obtaining two comparative quotes for around $4000-4500. When I challenged him whether he'd disciminate against us because our job is smaller than what he expected, he reluctantly said that he'd write an assessment. He never did, even 7 days later, and two additional phone inquiries. What a shame! Stay away from this company at all cost. No wonder they get a price score of B on average. Will never use them again!!!

The job foreman I'll call him "J" performed his job well. However, he was having several bad days in a row and was constantly upset at the sales people and it showed. It was not very professional. Carlos, the person that did most of the heavy work did a fine job. The job took longer than expected and they had to use a couple of different crews to get the job done. Clean up was not very good. I had a lot to do when they left. I waited quite a while to submit my report because I wanted to see if their work would last. I just looked at the basement floor where they poured the concrete to fill in where they laid the drain. The concrete has cracks in it every three or four feet.I also have a floor drain that I don't think drains into the sump pump anymore. Howevver, after reading the warranty I find that the warranty has so many loopholes that I don't think it covers much of anything.
Description of Work: I had a partial basement waterproofing job performed and had a new sump pump installed. The downspout on the West side of the house was buried and a line run to the front of the house so the rainwater would drain into the front yard.

When the sales rep. gave us our bid he said that he would not "BS" us. He told us that he takes the price off of the company price list. After looking on Angie's List I found that they offer a 10% discount to seniors. When I told him this he told me that he already dropped the price from $7600. Now let me be clear about this, there is nothing on our estimate showing he cut our price nor did he ever mention it. He said that he couldn't give us the senior discount that is on Angie's list. Mark Ralph, the owner of the company, arrived personally to assess our crawlspace needs. He said that dislodged cement blocks under what appeared to be a support beam had probably been added by a previous owner due to a squeaky floor, but were not necessary. He recommended patching some missing grout ourselves and didn't feel any actual work needed to be done because the home is structurally sound. The estimate was free. Mark was very professional and we appreciated his honesty.

The initial meeting with Bob went very well, and he explained, in detail, everything his crew would do to add more support to our sloping floor. The crew came a few days later and worked for a few hours getting the floor supported in several different spots. It was too cold at that point to install the new cellar entry (which had to be dug out), and we told them to take their time. It was maybe a week later and we looked out to see the new entryway in place and ready to go! They were very fast and efficient, and we were very pleased with the result.

The estimate was to break up and remove about 100 square feet of concrete, refill it with the pea gravel and then re-pour 100 square feet of concrete. The estimate also consisted of installing the underground drainage system. They are knowledgeable and they are diligent. They seemed very knowledgeable about the issue, they took their time of about four months to bring in other equipment and other people to get the assessment of what the work would entail to fix the problem. Their price is fair and I have had a good experience with them so far. I am still in the process of assessing their estimate with other companies.
