The basement does not feel like a basement, but an extension of our living space. Kathy even suggested a windowed door at the top of the stairs to show the extension of our living space. Their estimate was the highest, but we liked their design the best and their estimate of the amount of time the project would take was the best. They stayed on time and completed the work within their time estimate except for installing the shower doors which they had to backorder because they refused to install doors that "would just work." Kathy worked with us to keep us "on budget." The crew and subcontractors were very friendly, considerate of our home, careful around our birds, excellent craftsmen, and very trust worthy. The kitchen floor was even mopped every evening! They are perfectionists. If we were not satisfied for any reason, Kathy and Dave made sure the work was redone until everyone was satisfied. Kathy, Dave, and the crew calmly and expertly dealt with an unreasonable inspector and got the renovation approved with no additional cost. Kathy kept us informed at every step. She took my wife shopping for the bathroom fixtures and carpeting. She even showed her their own basement that they had remodeled to give us ideas for our remodel. We would recommend All Phase without any reservations and we will not hesitate to use them again for future projects
Description of Work: Remodeled basement. They tore down old paneling, drop ceiling and old carpet. Reconfigured the basement adding storage closets and a full bathroom. They increased the size of the main room drywalling it, added a new staircase, carpet, canned lights, and a spa-like bathroom.

Response from All Phase Group Inc
I went out to see the Member in her home in June...I sent her a very detailed bid subsequent to that meeting. When I spoke with her several times after that to follow up...she said she had been traveling and too busy to make any decisions but said she would contact me. I was surprised to see this review inasmuch as she never called me to let me know the status of her job ...but I DO appreciate when a prospect or an existing customer takes the time to post a review. My price to her for a complete basement remodel with bathroom and other extras was very competitive.

It turned out well. They did everything that I expected them to do. They were very meticulous and did a great job. I would recommend them to others.
This is the second time we have used All Phase Group, and we won't use anyone else for our remodeling. We had used OTHER GROUPS for our kitchen and upstairs bath in our house and had some bad experiences. We used All Phase for our basement finish and had such a GREAT experience, they were the only choice to do our master bathroom. We had a very small closet and our bathroom was very dated. Dave designed a plan that allowed us a much improved space with a closet that was significantly larger. This required some significant work arounds (which Dave actually enjoys). They also searched out companies to make or glass brick windows more opaque by sandblasting. Kathy kept us updated on the schedule and kept the sub-contractors on task. We had minor issues with a few of the sub-contractors (one work related and one billing issue). When Kathy was made aware of these, she was on the phone immediately with them and made them make it right. Kathy made it easy to pick things out for our remodel. She went shopping for us brought all samples by the house or had them delivered. There were no worries when Dave or his crew were in our house. We had one baby and one on the way, so Dave worked the noisy jobs around our child's nap times. They played with our dogs and made sure everything was picked up before they left for the day. Very nice and trustworthy people. The bathroom looks spectacular and the closet is much more usable. After doing two jobs at our house they feel more like friends than designers / contractors. We will use them again and recommend them to all our friends and family.
Description of Work: Updated our master bathroom. Designed bathroom for larger closet and walk in tile shower. New tile floor, cabinets all new fixtures. Installed closet system for master closet.

Nothing at our home is "standard" and that's why we call All Phase! We had some exterior trim around our balcony that was rotten. Due to the unusual curve of the trim, All Phase had to custom craft trim to fit. As usual, they accomplished the task and it looks better than the original.

In one day, All Phase removed old countertops and range so we did not have to be inconvenienced very long. It was not an easy job and they were careful to avoid damage to our home. They also prepared our cabinets to receive the much heavier granite slabs by creating cabinet-matching wood supports. To replace our old trash compactor, they built a sliding trash/recycle drawer and perfectly matched the cabinet front to our existing cabinets. This feat proved the quality of their woodworking skills since the detail in the cabinets is very intricate. We have used All Phase in the past and they always do quality work. They are the only group we use for our home improvement tasks.

It looks beautiful. They did a wonderful job. They are the best contractor I have ever used, I can't imagine working with anyone else. The room looks like it has always been there, it is integrated into our home perfectly. They work as a team. Kathy handles the billing and will help you with material selections, she will even drive you to the showrooms if need be. Any problems that arose they addressed and resolved quickly. They even made us dinner after the whole thing was finished. They will provide you with a weekly bill, which was helpful for budgeting the project. The subcontractors they used were wonderful. They were continuously punctual, professional, and tidy.
Description of Work: Our house was built in 1925. They took out a wall between the 3rd and 4th bedroom. They created a master bedroom and bath.
We chose this company because they were up front with pricing, flexible in working with us and there own schedule. They were open to our suggestions and helped us in making good choices. Although they use several subcontractors, they have worked with these people over a period of many years. We would not hesitate to use any of the subcontractors ourselves. The work was of the finest quality.
Description of Work: The walls of the dining area of our kitchen were all panelled and we wanted to renovate the area. The panelling was removed along with a picture window, and a door that exited to our porch. After demolition, dry wall was installed and prepared for painting. A new french door was installed in place of the picture window and a new fire door to the garage, new lighting, electrical work and new flooring was installed. The walls were painted.

Dave, Kathy, and Mike have worked for me on numerous jobs. They are always responsive and see the job through. They replaced a bay window with a slider. This required opening up the wall to accommodate the door as well as drywall and masonry. It looks like the door was always there. Installing one hose bib required running piping along the ceiling. Since there are already ceiling beams, they installed another to hide the pipe. Again, it looks like it has always been there. The bar base had fabric which they removed and replaced with wood. Areas of the siding had rotted. Dave and Mike repaired all of the damaged areas.

We handled some initial demolition ourselves, but they handled the worst of it. They got everything cleared out quickly and left our shower usable enough to live through the job. Kathy Cuppy managed the project from start to finish with energy and enthusiasm! She made it easier than we ever expected to be! Her help picking out materials and suggestions for items we didn't even think of originally was amazing! The quality of the woodworking is excellent, and their handling of the sub-contractors was tremendous. Love this company!

The whole process was great. Of course there are unexpected issues along the way which is always normal when re-modeling an older home. Our was built in 1940. They kept us updated on every step of the process and were very thorough in their work once again. We had a deadline to meet and they worked extremely hard to meet that and get us into the room when needed. The room turned out beautiful and we could not be more happy with the quality of work. We use it on a daily basis and are still amazed at the transformation that took place in the room.
Description of Work: We had a sun porch remodeled and transformed into our family room. All phase did demo on the old sun porch, including removing 6 old glass sliding door and removing a tile floor. They leveled the roof and the floor. The installed a beautiful fireplace for us and built a mantle surround that is just gorgeous. We had new walls, ceiling and hardwood floors installed.

AN ODE (ACTUALLY, A LIMERICK) TO ALL PHASE GROUP Along came a day in fine Indy When one's good wife determined to out-flee. I looked at the house, 'Had been told 'You're a louse!'. So I says to myself 'This is prickly'. It was clear the shack needed a spruce-up. For to sell or to keep in the post-nup Would require some paint To say nothing of maint- enance too long deferred in the muck-up. Now I speaks to my soul. I says 'Don't be no fool, You must get this ol' house bright and shiny!' But the question remained Whether I would get flamed If a tried to do all this by just me. Now a word is in order at this point 'Bout the way I get way out of all joint When I try to be handy. It ain't even dandy To hand me a hammer and just point ... ... At the manifold work that needs doin' When my brain and my hands feel like mooin' Like some cow on a train. Cuz I have half a brain But it just doesn't know how to fix squat. Now in these kinds of days One's thoughts turn to All Phase Who an epoch ago built a basement Where there had been a hole. Holy cow, it was cool! To see them create ex nihilo. So I phones up the Cuppies Those fine lovers of puppies And I says, 'Friends, I hope you can help me!' 'Cuz I've fallen on times That remind me of slime And I need to prepare for a bust-up. They said, 'Dude, please fear not! When our service you bought You became a forever-type client. We can help you! We will! We are here for you still! We will cure that ol' house of its dry rot! Now some weeks have gone by since that phone call. Both the Cuppies and All Phase have stood tall. In the teeth of my issues They have worked free of miscues My house is once more phe-no-me-nal. Should you stumble upon times like these days In the life of a man whose life displays A gumption for chaos And all kinds of net loss Just pick up the phone and call All Phase. It may be that the Cuppies can't fix you Since their work is with drywall, not tissues. But by doing repairs And related affairs They may free you to fry bigger fishes.
Description of Work: When faced unexpectedly with the financial ramifications of a divorce, I realized I need to get my home in shape to sell or to stay and to do so quickly. I turned to David and Kuppy of the All Phase Group. All Phase had some years back converted one half of my basement to a superb home office. Knowing that their work is remodeling rather than deferred maintenance, I doubted that they would be willing to perform the multifaceted work to bring the home to sell-or-stay par. But they *were* willing. The rest is history.

The process went well, overall. We are thrilled with our outcome and we get compliments on the basement from everyone who sees our home. The Cuppys did excellent work very professionally. They and their subcontractors always got straight to work when they showed up to work; I don't ever recall seeing workers dawdling. The Cuppys were always exceptionally easy to reach on weeknights--even as late as 9:30 PM. By my choice, we spoke nearly nightly, but Kathy was always sweet and never impatient. (By contrast, the Cuppys generally couldn't be reached on weekends.) All Phase and their subcontractors were unfailingly professional and never complained, groaned, or even sighed at our perfectionistic nitpicking (at least not that we ever noticed). Our schedules sometimes make us hard to reach, but the Cuppys generally did a fantastic job of keeping in touch with us. On a few rare occasions--when Kathy felt a decision was time-critical and she couldn't immediately reach my wife or me--Kathy made some executive decisions that I didn't ultimately support, but my disagreement very rarely required that anything be redone and this situation was--by far--the exception rather than the rule. Even after we complained, the front door still got left unlocked sometimes when all the workers were downstairs for extended periods and no one (us included) was on the main floor of the house to guard our valuables. We do live in a safe neighborhood, however, and nothing went missing even though we were rarely home when All Phase and/or its subcontractors were at our home. Everyone the Cuppys sent to our home seemed like "good people". They always maintained a professional appearance, too. Nobody smoked or drank at our home. The crews also did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. We chose All Phase in part because its small size and one-job-at-a-time business model meant that the number of people coming into and out of our home would be small and their efforts would be focused. Those proved to be correct assessments; All Phase was very efficient. All Phase also wasn't our cheapest bid from the get-go. We thought All Phase was worth the premium we paid because our lifestyle keeps us away from home so much of the day. Also, we liked their ideas about how to make the most out of two structural oddities in our basement. We still think believe All Phase was a great choice for us. All Phase has also returned very promptly to do some minor jobs in our basement rendered necessary by other work that we have had done there since the original remodel. We regret we still haven't found a good occasion to sample Kathy's reportedly-legendary cooking in celebration of our basement's completion, but the fault there is ours and not in any way hers.
Description of Work: Our previously-finished ~600 sq ft. basement had to be gutted shortly after we bought our home because of freak water damage. All Phase completed the last of the demolition work and re-finished our basement, constructing a fully walled-off utility room, a closet with radius shelves, a unique cabinet, and a knee wall between two living areas. A round support column was also enclosed decoratively with 12 flat boards and trim pieces. Stairs also were repaired and the ceiling was entirely replaced, making its height more uniform. Lastly, nail holes were plugged and sanded. The work included electrical, rough plumbing, home theater prewiring, and ventilation ductwork, which were subcontracted to union professionals overseen by All Phase. We chose a heating/A/C company we'd hired previously rather than the company recommended by All Phase. Only the carpentry and drywalling work was performed directly by All Phase. Although All Phase offered to coordinate the following services, we ourselves coordinated concrete stripping, wall painting, flooring installation, custom cabinet construction and installation, granite countertop fabrication and installation, custom countertop bracket blacksmithing, home theater installation, electric fireplace delivery/installation, and finish plumbing. We repaired concrete cracks and sealed the basement concrete ourselves. The price that we paid includes all of the work All Phase completed as well as work completed by the subcontractors.

Awesome. Everything looks great since the two inch sag was removed and we no longer fear a collapse. Each day, the work area was cleaned up properly. The final labor costs came in approximately $1500 lower than the original estimate. As an engineer, I can say that was no small feat considering how risky the lifting process really was in this situation. Dave and Mike really impressed me with their hard work. David and Kathy won this job due to their professionalism prior to the work. I was no less impressed with the work. I would highly recommend All Phase to anyone and will call on them in the future when we do more renovations.
Description of Work: All Phase jacked up the second floor to remove a dangerously undersized beam (effectively an 18+ ft long span with a single 2"x12"), insufficient columns with very little bearing and replaced it with the appropriate size beam and columns. Additional framing of the old chase was revised since the chase was narrowed per our request. Two temporary walls were required to support the second floor joists when the beam was removed.

Work was completed on time and workmanship was excellent. A gas line, electrical and a vent had to be re-route and this was done with no problem. Kathy Cuppy promptly returned my call and Dave came out the next day to give an estimate. He listen to our thoughts and made numerous suggestions as to the best way to accomplish our goals. I obtained quotes from two screen replacement companies but decided to go with All Phase Group because they had finished our basement last year and we knew first hand the quality of their work (exceptional). At my request, Dave dropped the lumber off early and allowed me re-paint the new wood battens before installation. After the old screen and battens were removed (1st day), we discovered that the support boards at the base of the screen showed some rotting. Dave was able to bring in jacks and support the roof and then replace the supporting boards with new pressure treated boards (painting the boards before installation). I'm amazed that they could do this! The final result looks great - bottom supporting boards, new screens, new battens. All Phase was an easy choice - prompt service and exceptional work.
Description of Work: Our cat had broken through our back porch screen. We wanted to remove all screens and replace them with new screens using pet screens on the lower panels. We also wanted to remove the old battens and replace them with new wood attached with screws rather that nails to facilitate future screen replacement if necessary.

I cannot imagine finding a company with more integrity or more expert and meticulous craftsmanship than All Phase- Dave and Cathy Cuppy, Mike and Brian, they were fantastic. I highly recommend them for any kind of remodeling project (large or small) that you want done to the highest standards, by hard-working, trustworthy people who will give you their undivided attention from start to finish. When an issue came up, Dave even went out of his way to teach some of the neighborhood kids a lesson in charity and integrity by his words and example.
Description of Work: DECK: All Phase built a beautiful new cedar deck, 2 small enclosed sets of steps with decorative railings, a large cedar staircase with decorative railings, wrapped and added beautiful decorative cedar trim to 7 support posts, added no maintenance deck ceiling material, (tore out and removed the old deck, stairs, and ceiling, reset original joists and other improperly done work by previous contractors), meticulously insect proofed the entire underside of the deck, ceiling, and 2 enclosed sets of steps with installation of special screening to prevent wasp, bee or spider habitation, installed 4 exterior light fixtures. GENERAL REMODELING: All Phase installed a large new 3 section tempered glass window with trim and constructed a new roof line to accommodate it. BATHROOM REMODELING: All Phase did extensive bathroom and wine cellar repairs, due to severe damage from several frozen burst water pipes during the previous winter.

We have used All Phase for another project at another house about 7 years ago. That job went great from start to finish. We contacted them to remodel our "new" kitchen in our 1940 home we had just purchased. They worked with us on ideas and plans to make it what we needed/wanted for our family of 7. Once again, our experience with them was exceptional. They are prompt in returning phone calls and always there when they say they are going to be. Not once did someone not show up when they were expected to be there. Their workmanship is amazing. They care about the details and work hard to make sure all of our expectations are met. We are starting another project here at our 1940's cape cod house and have just contacted them to work for us again. We would highly recommend All Phase to anyone.

They were really nice and very professional. We really liked them but their price was really expensive. ******* Update 3/30/10 I appreciate the company's response, however, the project they described was not our own. Water damage was not the problem, but we did this in order to add value to the home. We appreciated the time they took and their professionalism, but the bid for their work was out of our price range.

Response from All Phase Group Inc
I appreciate the member's report, but in our defense...she had sustained considerable damage due to a leaking freezer -- the leak had been going on for a long time. The damage was through the entire floor (and wall) structure in two rooms...the extent of the damage was not visible (and will not be visible until all the floors are torn out and the wall exposed). We are certainly more expensive than the other companies that do insurance work. We are design/build remodelers with 30 years experience that come to the table with structural and restoration experience as well. This member might be in trouble if she hires the least expense person out there -- the repairs at her house will be difficult!

Kathy came out to discuss the basics of the job, and Dave came out a few days later to take some measurements in order to sketch up a drawing of the roof addition. A couple of weeks later, following the arrival of the new entryway unit, Kathy called to ask if they could start the next day due to a gap in their schedule, as well as the fact that we had a full week of dry weather. Dave and his crew (Mike and Brian) came out the next day to get started, and by the end of that day, the old entryway was out, and the new one installed. The roof addition started the next day, and was mostly completed. While that framing was going on I pre-painted most of the trim boards that they bought for the job, which saved a lot of effort later. This was finished up on the third day, followed by the roofing, which turned out to be one of the bigger parts of the job, as the roofer, Ryan, determined that in order to do the job right, not just the new roof and the areas surrounding the dormer needed to be shingled, but the valleys that led to the dormer had to be stripped and re-shingled as well to ensure that that area stayed dry (this had been the area of many leakage problems previously), which expanded the scope of the job beyond the initial estimate. Ryan and his crew did an excellent job, though. Mike and Bryan returned on Monday to take care of some final trim work and put up new siding on the dormer. The gutters were installed later in the week, following a phone discussion with the gutter contractor (Rainflow) to determine the best arrangement. The workmanship on the job was very good, and their professionalism and attention to detail was also very good. Kathy does a very good job maintaining open communications, and is prompt and punctual. Overall the job was bid well, and well coordinated. Though the overall cost ended up a bit higher than the original estimate due to the added scope of the roofing job, the results were very good. We've already had compliments from one of the neighbors about the nice job they did, and that it looks like the added roof went with the original house.
Description of Work: We selected All Phase Group Inc.to replace our original entryway and add a small porch roof overhang to our house. This included removing the old entryway for which the frame had rotted due to leakage from a poorly-flashed dormer above it. They also remediated some mold issues around the entryway from the water leakage. In addition, the rough-sawn cedar trim around the "eyebrow" window over the entry was replaced, along with the siding on the dormer.
