Meyer's Heating and Cooling

4 men showed up at 7:45 in the am to start work. Two large trucks and a smaller van. They went to work immediately removing the old units. One man handled the air conditioner while the other 3 men dismantled the furnace. All old units , wiring and duct where loaded on one of the trucks. Complete installation took about 7 hours. Units were run tested and all clean up was complete. We were very satisfied with all work. The job was completed as promised by the sales rep.

Technician arrived as scheduled. He acted professionally and was pleasant to talk to. Installation went well. He appeared to know what he was doing. Everything was explained clearly.

Everything went quickly and efficiently.

This was a good experience with a contractor.

The plumber arrived early. They were hired to run the water line for my dishwasher and install the dishwasher. He installed the garbage disposal. He also put new shut-offs on the water lines for my kitchen sink and hooked the sink up to the water & waste lines. He also installed my kitchen faucet. In my basement the plumber repaired a leaking pipe and a leak in the drain of my laundry sink. The laundry sink repair impressed me the most. Everything was done and done well, no doubt, but he took the time to attempt to repair and explain his work in the laundry room to me. He said the leak appeared to be in the sink itself. Because the part of the drain you see from the top is actually part of the sink he couldn't remove it to repair it. He did some work under it to attempt to block the leak and it worked. He let me know that he was going to try and if it didn't hold I was better of just picking up a new sink at a store and replacing it rather than trying to repair again. He did fine with everything in the kitchen that he was asked to. He was very friendly and answered all of my questions. The best part was that he completely cleaned up his mess. When he was having trouble removing all of the water from the pipe that had to be repaired in the basement, he asked before using my bucket & paper towel in the basement. He also asked before leaving the boxes to the faucet & disposal. He even swept up after himself before leaving. So far (9 months later) everything is working fine.

Electrician arrived w/ another individual....who he said was going to install/repair the ceiling fans and reposition a light fixture. That individual performed the work well. We had a couple of ceiling fans that did not operate correctly w/ the remotes and they were not able to figure out why not. We had them re-configure with different remotes, which we had purchased previously. We also asked for an estimate on cost of adding several more outlets in the basement. The "lead" electrician indicated he would provide an estimate to his associate and then go on to another job and his "associate" would complete the work. We took him to the basement and at the conclusion of the service, the associate said he was not given the estimate by the "lead" electrician. He said they would call us back and mail the estimate. We never received a phone call nor an estimate in the mail.

They provided excellent work and I would use them again.

I needed the services of Meyer's Companies Inc. about six months ago. They were prompt, reliable and did quality work in a professional manner.

The repair man showed up right on time. He explained what needed to be done and then began to repair the plumbing problems.He was professional and very informative. He worked for about 2 1/2 hours. The jobs were completed satisfactory.

The experience with them was very good. When we built the house, they did all the electrical and plumbing work and that was the reason we called them. There was no problem with their work. They were never late. I would absolutely use their services again in the future.

.We had a very bad experience the last time we used them. When we built the house MEYER'S COMPANIES INC did all the work for us like plumbing, heating and electrical. So we have been using them all the time. It was a different company then. But now it is a new company as somebody else has taken over. Two months ago it was the plumber who came out and he was really bad. He did not even spent 10 or 15 minutes and still he charged $191. On the receipt it says that he had spend 22 minutes but we had done most of the work and he had to do very little and he charged us this amount which was really bad. So we complained and he took off $69 and even then it was too much. Most of them from this company are good and they are all very professional. I would use all of them except this plumber who is really bad. The workmanship of MEYER'S is very good except for our experience with this plumber. We always use Meyer’s. We tried out somebody else but we were not happy. MEYER’S have trained people and are well qualified. They are punctual and professional just need to watch out on the price a little bit.

Employees showed up on time and worked all day. Completed job same day it started. Which we appreciated at 90 degrees outside. Professional, courteous and diligent workers.

After waiting for a competitor for over 12 hours, I called Meyers and they had a technician out within 45 minutes. It took about 20 minutes to find and fix the problem which turned out to be a missing burner tube screw that caused one of the burners to overheat.

Went great. Outside light went out again and they came right out again after I called to let them know.

I am not sure of the date exactly and I need to find the receipt to get you a price for the work I previously had done. But the experience is why I would not hire them again because of. I had them remove and then put back two furnaces in a duplex earlier this year. When summer hit the air conditioner just stopped working out of the blue. Now I only needed one furnace replaced because it was cracked but I had decided to go ahead and do both of them, the one I didn't need replaced is the one who started freezing up and stopped the air from working. I called and told the receptionist what was going on and she set up a time for them to come look at it and make sure they hadn't installed anything wrong. She never told me there was a 69 dollar fee for them to make sure they hadn't broke anything. Nor did she tell me I was going to be charged by the hour on top of that. She also told me that they would call my phone and I needed only to be 10 to 15 minutes from the apartment. So I stayed home and it's a good thing too because she sent him not to the address I needed work done at but to my house! They guy came and told me what I already knew... that the a/c needed to be fixed. He also told me that air pushing out of the furnace seals was normal. There was probably a leak or a coil went out. He tried first to convince me to get new a/c units like they had done with the furnaces, but when I declined he offered to put more gas in it for a couple hundred bucks and then proceeded to say finding and fixing a leak would cost me a ridiculous. Now I can accept that perhaps I need to pay to fix the leak, but if there was a fee for them to come and make sure they hadn't made a mistake I should have been told about it. Besides the furnaces should be under warranty for more than a year which I believe should have covered the over one hundred dollars I ended up paying for having nothing fixed. I will never use this company again for either my apartments or my home.

Meyer's is quick, professional, and thorough. Our heat and AC had been going in and out for a year, and they came during the winter to check everything out. They said we may need a new furnace after a few years, but can maintain heat with a few quick tricks. They came back in May when our AC was out and installed a new thermostat. No problems since.

Very good but decided to go with a different brand.

The process went pretty well. I'm happy with the work they did. I liked the owner's honesty. One of the owners came over and told us what things were being installed and what things wouldn't make much difference.

He was nice enough to wait around for me to call NIPSCO first and explain what the problem was. He was still here when the NIPSCO people arrived and he explained to them what the problem was and what he had done and what his findings were. He was great. That allowed the NIPSCO people to fix it quickly. He was extremely professional. He was nice enough to offer to explain to the dispatcher at NIPSCO what exactly the problem was. It was my choice to have him come out on a weekend so of course there were the weekend emergency charges. But when he came a couple of days later for something else happening, he didn't charge me for coming out that day because of what he had to charge me the week before. The reason that I am going back to them again is because of the way they worked with me on various issues I have had. He actually called in other people to take his other appointments so that he could put me on top of the list. He put me on priority. Other people were calling him out on the weekend to replace fuses. They didn't even have power outages. I have more work scheduled on the 17th of August and I would use them again in the future.

The guys from Meyer's did an excellent job. The install of the humidifier unit in our central air system went very smoothly and the unit works quite well. Next, we had Meyer's relocate some heating ducts and floor registers to prepare for the installation of a new hardwood floor. This, too, went well. The guys who did the job were prompt, well-organized and professional. I would use them again with any HVAC or plumbing project.

Overall it was a very good experience. Although the fix was relatively simple (a power outage caused the furnace to go into a safety mode), the repairman (Dave) did a great job of explaining it to me and what I needed to do if it ever happened again. He also did a quick check to make sure everything else was operating as expected. He was very thorough.

Horrible experience. Scheduled over a week in advance. At 3:00 the day the job was to start, the contractor tried to cancel. He eventually showed up at 1:00 pm the next day instead of 7:30 am as originally scheduled. Only broke up concrete the first day and performed no actual plumbing work. 2nd day 1 plumber showed up and did some work. We ended up having to remove all debris ourselves, although plumber helped himself to our old copper pipes and took them with him. Originally was told plumber would be out on Saturday to finish, but they never showed up. Finally showed up on Monday and never did complete entire scope of work. Installing a new ejector pump was on bid, which we were billed for (the pump and labor) but it was never installed. Had to argue repeatedly with owner trying to get pump and associated labor removed. Never was given any credit for the work we performed that the contractor was suppose to do (removing debris). Horrible company to deal with and will never use them again.

He replaced the coil on the furnace.

He took his shoes off before entering, and they really respect your house.
