The Glass Guru of Indy South

When I called I told them I needed the garage side passage door straightened in the door jam and new weather stripping around it. I was told they had a minimum charge for a job of $250.00. Since I had other quotes of $100.00 I thought this charge was way to high for what was needed.

The provider came to my home and inspected my windows and told me I did not have wood rot and therefore did not need this service and that I could request a refund. I very much appreciated his honesty and was very pleased with this experience and would recommend this company based on the professionalism and honesty that I experienced.

Chris came to the house and after looking at the windows he gave us an estimate to repair the rotted wood and replace the sash. The estimate seemed quite high. He stated that he could replace the windows for less than it would cost to try to repair them. The Angies List special price does not pertain to replacement of the windows, only repair of rotted wood.

Several potential window service providers said the wood framing that had rotted around our elliptical, stain glass window in our sun room could not be repair or replaced. They were quoting anywhere from $1800 to $2500 in full replacement costs. I found the Glass Guru from an advertisement at The Gathering Place in Greenwood and decided to call them. They quoted window replacement for our entire home and a rebuild of our elliptical window for only $800. Even a full replacement was quoted at $1200, but the Glass Guru recommended not to lose the wonderful stain glass we had already invested in. The repairman arrived on time with a phone call confirming he would be there 15 minutes prior to the 9 AM appointment. He worked nearly six hours cutting and sawing and matching up wood and vinyl to replace what had rotted out. He sealed the window, and what a huge difference! The window is absolutely beautiful again! It is ready for paint and will be done so very soon. I would recommend The Glass Guru again for the pricing, quality work, and friendliness. We will be using them for total window replacement for the rest of our home a little bit at a time. Their products are good and quality is outstanding. I cannot wait to see what they do next for us!

The first person was very helpful explaining types of windows and what we needed. He made a template of the windows so we would get a good fit. We waited about a week or so and they called to say the glass was in. They have it delivered to them instead of the home to check to make sure everything is correct. Two men came to install the windows. Everything went as planned.

Everything went fine. They came out to check the window and give me an estimate. He came back out a couple of weeks later to replace the glass. It took maybe 30 minutes and he was in and out in no time. I was honestly unprepared for how much replacing the glass would cost. I paid $260 plus the amount I paid for the deal (which I've forgotten now). In hindsight I should have passed up the deal since I didn't honestly know if I was saving any money or not.

Window PRO is good. I thought they did a very good job and the product was good. I think the price is a little expensive.

I am so impressed with this company. I purchased a Big Deal on Angie's list for $223 for windows repair. Chris O'Brien came to my home to assess the work that needed to be done, and after spending 30 minutes at my home told me I did not need their services, just a handyman with a caulk gun. He said I should contact Angie's List to request a refund for my Big Deal purchase. He didn't even charge me for the service call. Obviously if my windows ever do need to be repaired, this is the first company I will call...a very stand-up company and sales representative.

It turned out that the work I needed done wasn't as large as the Big Deal covered, and anything extra would cost a lot more than I was willing to spend.

I requested a quote for a glass top for my table and they responded promptly. They supplied a quote based on the information I provided and offered a suggestion as well. I am pleased with the quote and will be placing an order once my schedule permits me to visit their store.

I emailed a couple different glass places and the Glass Guru had a fast response and a price that was almost half the cost of the other place that responded. I needed a 30and quot; x 60and quot; piece of glass for a coffee table I was making. They gave me good advice on the thickness and didn't try to up-sell me - though they said they could do whatever I wanted they thought I only needed a 1/4and quot; thickness for what I was doing. I think it took less than a week for the glass to be ready. I ended up going out of town for a few weeks and they were very nice about reminding me that it was ready for pickup. I would definitely use them again for future projects.

My angies list big deal was $199 for 6 hours of window rot repair. The estimator told me I have steel window frames and aluminum windows.There was nothing they could do for me. After discussing it with the office, they told me to get a refund from angies list. HURRAY FOR HONEST AND CARING PEOPLE AND COMPANY

Everything went as contractor predicted. All was done well and met or exceeded my expectations.

Adam arrived on time for his inspection of our windows. We were impressed by his honesty and the fact that he provided us ALL of the options available (repair vs. replacement of the affected windows) with cost comparison of those options. We did not feel pressured in any way. Adam showed us the areas of wood rot on 5 windows and exactly how repairs would be accomplished. The repairs necessitated extensive amount of wood replacement and reconstruction - to the point of having to completely remove 2 of the affected windows to facilitate repairs. The repaired windows were caulked with he new wood primed and made ready for painting. Although we were told the job would take 3 days, the guys had it completed in less than 2 days with minimal interruption or interference with the function of our household. There was one plastic piece of window track that had broken. Although I was unsure whether or not the break was present prior to this repair, Reid advised that he wanted us to be completely happy with the entire repair and would see to it that this broken piece of window track was replaced. We highly recommend the services of The Glass Guru for wood window rot repair.

The service took only three hours. Even with minimal repairs I was still charged a very high amount. Unsatisfied with the work and bill.

On Feb. 25TH, I called the Class Guru of Indy South and talked to Adam. I explained that I needed an estimate for seven windows and two storm doors. He was easy to talk to and we agreed to set an appointment for 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday the 27th of Feb. Nobody showed-up at 10:30 or 11:00 or 11:30 so I left for work. At 12:00 as I am entering my workplace,my phone rings and a Mister Green from the Glass Guru says he's running late for our 11:30 appointment.When I mention that my appointment was at 10:30 he pauses and says that I was correct, my appointment was at 10:30 and that he was sorry but got delayed on a prior job. I said,how hard is it to pick-up a phone and call me within a reasonable amount of time. Again he says he's sorry. I responded and said, don't bother coming out, I am no longer willing to work with your company. Again he says I'm sorry. Fifteen minutes after that call a man named Robert calls and says he is ten minutes for getting to my house. REALLY??????. Again I said don't bother. How sad. They have great reviews on Angie's List. To bad that the only people whose time they feel is valuable is there own.

They were great. They arrived on time and explained what the cost would be in detail. It was just more expensive than the cost of replacing the window and we have decided to go in that direction instead.

A gentleman came out and gave me an estimate after I purchased the coupon. He did not give me an exact number at that time. Later on, he came back with the estimate for $900 for the job, where I would owe him $700. The coupon I purchased was $199 for $400 worth of labor. He should have given me a $1100 estimate, which would have made sense. His pricing was not forthcoming.

Overall it was a terrible experience and lessened any faith I had in Angie's List even. Dealing with Angie's List has not been the answer to any and all problems of trying to find reputable businesses as advertised.

Serviceman arrived on time, offered advice, did the work, cleaned up, gone in 40 minutes, then left. No complaints at all. I couldn't ask for anything more. I thought the price was slightly high for 40 minutes work, however, it was fixed and a fine job was done.

They were very good. They gave me some advice and saved me a lot of money. I would use them again.
