About us

McCarty Mulch & Stone was established in 1995 by Josh & Jennifer McCarty. We do not do the spreading of mulch or installing stone. They started the company shortly after getting married, taking orders by hand at their kitchen table. Now celebrating our 23rd year, they are grateful for the growth of the company, the expansion of the product line and staff of 35 over the years. They are producers of their own natural mulches, and carry a variety of soils, decorative rock, rubber tire mulch and driveway stone. Operating their own compost facility, they also accept clean wood brush. McCarty Mulch & Stone prides themselves on being a green company before it was fashionable. Their mission is to provide you with the quality you expect and the service you deserve! Description of Work: Was needing some pulverized top soil for a seed bed in a new partially established lawn to fill in spots. Got two loads of very nice pulverized soil then on the third load I had about half of the load that was full of heavy clayish material that I had to brake up to use. I was spending more time braking up the soil, than seeding. When I went back to get another load they said it was because of the rain and they would get further back in their pile and get me some better soil. | When I got home with it after using what was on top 3/4 of the rest of the load was worse than the previous load. I called and told them I would like to return it and they said that would be ok and they would have their man in the yard unload it for me. | When I got there they refunded my money but the man in the yard said he was busy and told me to shovel it out in front of the pile. I'm glad I took a big coal shovel with me or I would have been a long time doing it with a regular dirt digging shovel. | Some of the clay clods of dirt was 6-8 inches in diameter. I sure don't call that pulverized soil. | I went north a few miles on the highway and got some of the nicest soil I have ever seen and got the rest of the material I needed for the job there.

Description of Work: I called to order 5 cubic yards of crushed river rock. The ordering process went smoothly and they were able to deliver the same day! Great customer service, and the delivery guy was also courteous, making sure that I had thought to avoid blocking in my car with a pile of stone. Rocks look great; they have a nicer blend of color than options at other businesses. I plan to go back for more.

Wonderful, the best.
Description of Work: This is the second time I used McCarty Mulch & Stone. This is a company that you can trust. They deliver a beautiful product and at great price and with the most customer friendly staff I have ever worked with in any field. The driver had a large triaxle truck that had 16 yds of compost and mulch on one truck. Trevor the driver: exceptionally accomplished, careful and courteous driver that was very careful and placed the load perfectly in a difficult spot to drop the mulch/compost. Thanks again.

Description of Work: I found them on Angie's List and gave then a call. They were very helpful in picking out the mulch that I wanted to use. They happily took the coupon from Angie's List and delivered the mulch on the day that I requested. Even though I was not home they got the mulch where I had requested that it be dumped. They told me they would keep record of what I bought so I would have the same mulch when I needed it next year. Great people and I was very pleased with the service

Went as expected.
Description of Work: Have used McCarty since the day he started. Always delivers on time and delivers top quality mulch. This year I ordered 1 yard of compost and 6 yards of mulch. The delivery man took the time to hand shovel the compost off first, went way beyond what I expected!

As always, the McCarty family was kind and generous. Josh and Jennifer (the owners) took time to talk with me about our landscaping, family, and more. They are truly a kind family and they run a wonderful business. People may say ''mulch is mulch'' but I would highly encourage people to use McCarty Mulch because we walked away knowing the owners are great and we feel the product they sold us is great.

I decided to use them based on a recommendation of a friend and researching Angie's List. They did the basics well, plus took the time on the phone to help me figure out how mulch mulch I needed. They also took the time to help figure out the most cost efficient way for me to buy. This would include the price breaks for quanity, truck size, mulch type, etc.
Description of Work: Bought mulch on September of 2005 to dress up a house for sale. 10 yards of premium hardwood mulch, delivery fee, fuel surcharge, and sales tax.
