Mitch is an excellent communicator. He proactively managed the entire project. The subcontractors were punctual and reliable. They always cleaned up around the house after each work day. This was a big job. I can be very particular since I am a very experienced DIY er. Overall I am quite satisfied with the outcome.

We had some problems with an unfinished project with another contractor so we contacted Godwin construction and the owner, Mitch came out to look at the problems. He knew exactly what needed done. Very nice and professional. The worker who did siding, gutters and replacement window was so very good and a master of his trade. Super job!

I would highly recommend Godwin Homes! With the upcoming sale of our home and a military PCS we were on a tight deadline. Godwin Homes worked diligently with us and our insurance to get the job done on time. Their roofing crew was very neat, skilled and courteous; not to mention they were able to replace the entire roof in one day! The guttering team they used also did not disappoint! The materials were good quality and the new roof and gutters look great. Very pleasant experience from start to finish!

This is one of the best experiences that I've ever had with a contractor. Mitch Godwin, the owner, kept in contact with me throughout the entire process. He brought me siding samples and information regarding the siding that I was interested in. The crew that did the work was very friendly and took the time to explain to me what they were doing and why. The work that they did was outstanding! I am very happy with the finished results!

Old roof was removed and new one was put on in 1 day. The crew noted an issue with my furnace flue and reported it to me so I could get someone out there to fix it (which I appreciate). Mitch Godwin checked on things periodically to make sure the work was getting done properly. The new roof looks nice. They cleaned up afterwards. They made the experience easy to deal with.

Based upon what was estimated and the thoroughness of the estimate, we went with Godwin. Workers began before 8:00 a.m. and the worksite was cleaned up by 1:00 p.m. on the same day. The workers cleaned up the property and we appreciate the conscientiousness of this company and the workers. Great job! In the future, we would like them to do our siding, gutters fascia and soffitts.

Our home was in need of repair after 28 years--replacement of roof and siding, 3 windows, and painting of trim and gutters. We had other estimates for the roof and Godwin Homes was by far the most reasonable which included the upgrade to dimensional shingles. The roofers, who btw have worked for the company for many years, completed the work in one day and totally cleaned up the working area. During the day, Mitch Godwin came by twice to check on the progress and to answer any question or concerns we might have. Because of the workmanship and his personal touch, we had him price out our other needs. Again, he was lower than our other estimates. After our re-roofing experience, we felt confident that his company would complete these other tasks with the same quality and professional attention. All contracted workers were skillful and completed each job well. We were quite impressed with the clean-up detail at the end of each day for the multi-day jobs...and most of all the completed project! We would not hesitate to hire Godwin Construction in the future and recommend him highly.

My experience with Godwin homes was excellent in several ways. 1- Professional; in every interaction, quality service with durable warranted material in a short time span was demonstrated. 2- Personalized; the owner himself came to my house within an hour and provided me with all the information I needed to make my own decision as to what was best for me and my insurance coverage (roof to be replaced because of hail damage) 3- Workmanship superiority; I kept on eye on the actual workers and was impressed at how they took their time to get things right ` including protecting my plants; parts of the house exposed to falling debris; and clean up. 4- Cost under budget; While the estimate was competitive, when the insurance check came, because of Godwin's report to them I got 6% MORE than anticipated. I highly recommend this company for roofing unequivocally.

I needed a shingle repair quickly due to incoming rain, Mitch answered my call quickly and had a worker out to my house on the same day to repair the shingles. I got a good price as well since I already had the shingles to replace it. I would highly recommend Godwin & Sons!

I have an older roof and I did not have any shingles to use as replacements. Mitch warned me it would not be an exact match but he found shingles that were closer than I expected. They were replaced and I was pleased with how well they looked. He kept me informed from the time I called him until the job was done.

Mitch Godwin was very responsive to my requests--all the work was completed promptly and in a very workmanlike fashion ---tear off and installation of the new roof went flawlessly. Several other issues I had were brought to my attention and repaired at the same time, saving me from having to deal with them later. Couldn't be more pleased with Mitch and his crew. Godwin Homes was fantastic to work with! They are extremely reasonable with their pricing and the work performed was wonderful. Mitch didn't hassle me when I was deciding who would do my work. He was very knowledgeable and calmed my concerns. I was considering replacing the entire wall because I wanted to make sure that the siding matched. He reassured me that the replacement siding was the closest match he's seen before and that he was confident that I would be happy with it. They did a great job and had it all done in one day. They matched up the old roof color with the new as best as they could and made sure that we approved it before they left.

I emailed them and they got back with me in a couple of days. The manager came out and did an estimate and then contacted me by cell phone. I declined the job because it was more than I wanted to spend.

Godwin had done work for us in the past and were quite fair, honest, conscientious and professional. We called them out again and this time, we were told we needed to do a complete tear off and new roof for small water mark in ceiling. Quote given with suggestion that there was room for negotiation. Salesman called repeatedly (which we would expect for someone trying to close a deal), but many calls were aggressive and insistent. As a result, we called another roofing comany for another opinion and they found a small plumbing leak above area of ceiling spot. Asked whether new roof was needed at this time and they said no -- perhaps in a year or two but roof still had life in it.

We were very satisfied with their work.

We selected Godwin to perform three major projects for us on our home: roof, siding and windows. The window project was more involved than they estimated, yet they stuck to their estimate and performed all the work necessary within the original quote. We could have found a contractor who used cheaper windows, but I believe in the quality of these windows especially for the price. Mitch even helped us figure out the most economical way to do all of the windows in our home by researching various color options and design features. After choosing, he included the upgraded grid arrangement in our windows free. The subcontractor that Mitch used (Bob Owens) to install the windows worked diligently and respectfully and was one of the best experiences of this entire remodeling process! Even after the siding guys dinged up some of the aluminum wrapping, Bob came back and repaired it. The windows have made a huge difference to the appearance and the efficiency of our home. The interior wood trim needed to be replaced after the windows were installed and Mitch upgraded the materials to a unstained poplar, which was above the original estimate. This was so we could customize the stain and finish to match the rest our home!

We asked Godwin (Mitch) to bid on the three projects we had for our house, roof, siding and windows. We selected Mitch to perform all of these projects because of an overall combination of price, quality and trustworthiness. He was very responsive to our needs. Of all the projects the siding project was perhaps the most frustrating, and not because of Mitch but because of the sub contracting crew he used to perform this work. He was not on-site as much as we would have liked to supervise the quality of this sub team's work. After the work was completed, we had to have the house painted and talked to several painters to get estimates. A couple of these painters remarked that they had never seen siding installed like this job was completed. Overall, I don't feel this subcontracting crew was as conscientious as Mitch himself is.

We chose Godwin to complete three major projects for us this summer. Roofing, Siding, and Windows. The roofing project was flawless. The work was completed in about 10 hours. Due to a scheduling difficulty the materials didn't arrive until late one afternoon and so the crew worked extra late that night (until dark) to complete as much as they could. I especially liked Mitch's proposal for re-roofing because he was one of the few contractors who still installs with roofing nails rather than staples. They even did the little extras that other roofing contractors weren't willing to, such as replacing the Z flashing around the chimney, spraying the vent pipes black to match the shingles. It looks great! As a side note, after the painting crew (Not Godwin Related) finished painting our new siding, the overspray had gotten on the shingles. The painting company agreed to pay for the repairs so Mitch's crew came back out and performed all of the repairs which was almost more laborious than the full tear-off. The work looks great and they were true roofing professionals. Doug-Godwin's roofing guy-was the best to work with.

The company owner came out himself to give us the estimate. He brought brochures on siding for us to look at. We we were pleased with the estimate and the presentation. He explained to us that siding prices were going up the next week and if we decided before then he would lock in the old price. This still gave us three or four days to decide, so it wasn't high pressure sales. When we decided he told us it would be a couple of weeks before he could get to us, but the price was still locked. We were not in a hurry so that was fine. There were a couple of surprises, when the project was started we found out there was only one man working on the job and it would take two weeks to complete. This was ok with us, but I think it should have been said up front. Next we had boards that had rotted in a few places and these would have to be replaced. You could not see them until the project was started so it was not their fault that the price had to go up. Then the gutter that needs fixing is holding water because it is not tilting correctly so they could not seal them. It will need further work. The work was done very well and the whole thing looks good. There are only two complaints - the work smashed all our flowers by the house. And the estimate included trimming ivy like plants off the side of the house were it was in the way and removing the debris. Instead of trimming he just pulled it away from the house, and now it is hanging down and we will have to trim it and get rid of the debris. The siding itself really makes the house look better and was well done.

The project went very well. There was a bit of a delay in the start, but it was completed within a reasonable time frame.
