We were definitely pleased and would hire them again.

This company was there and did what they said they would do, but I did not like the gum and trash that was left for my dog to find. So far it has not rained so I do not know about it leaking. I was so impressed with Doug the salesman. He was awesome. If not for him, I would of gone with another company. He followed up and he cared. He spent time with us explaining everything.

They had done previous work for us, and we were satisfied. We had a hail storm and decided to go with them again. Godwin came out to check out the damage and said we did need a new roof. They had written an estimate for an entire new roof, and we had several adjusters come out and state that we did not need a new roof. The gentlemen from Godwin finally agreed with the others that we did not need new roof. He stated if there was damage, he was to write an estimate for a new roof. We called to have them fix the minor repairs, and they stated they were not doing repairs, just new roofs. The repairs that need to be repaired are in an area they had done previous work on.

I dealt primarily with Mitch Godwin, who was very helpful in working with us and our insurance company. The workers were efficient and polite; and extremely hard working. The roof turned out well, and we are pleased.

They were very punctual, cleaned up most of their mess.

Doug called ahead to let me know he was a little late, very polite, helpful.

Godwin Homes was very responsive. They kept me up to date on when they would be completing the work. They did an excellent job on the roof. The roofers left some trash behind, but the supervisor cleaned up the trash as soon as it was brought to his attention. I was very pleased with the entire job.

Doug offered to call the insurance company for me, and actually got them to give a little bit more money. He also brought his bid down closer to what they were willing to pay, really bending over backwards for us. Unfortunately, we decided to sell the house so we are not hiring out the work, but I would not hesitate to fully recommend Godwin.

Bob (the installer)is a professional and perfectionist. He works alone and does a great job. Yes, what about Bob??? Very good!

This company was a mixed experience. The estimator was fine. The work done seems to be of decent quality, but some defects are apparent, such as shingles sticking up etc. They cleaned up the job site very well, considering the mess that was made doing this type of work. My huge complaint is there was a TOTAL lack of communication. They delivered the materials on a Thursday, even though they said they would be delivered on the following Monday. They left a message that work was to start on a Monday, but nobody came that day and I was not contacted again. They just showed up on Tuesday. Nobody on the crew could speak English well enough to communicate with me about some issues, and they had not been given good instructions about where to install the special ice shield material. I called Godwin with some concerns about how the job was going, and Tom, the man I spoke with, was rather rude. He told me I was 'micromanaging' and not to worry about when/if they show up to work!

We had to start the process late due to the insurance company claim adjuster stating to wait until they did the assessment first, so I knew everyone would be busy. Godwin was actually the only company where I was able to reach a person on the phone. Three weeks later and estimator stated he would be coming out to the house on a Friday morning to do the estimate. After not hearing anything 2 weeks after the estimate was supposed to happen, I called Godwin and they were going to look into it. 1 week later and I have not heard anything. Overall they were easy to reach, but I could not get any further information from them.

I think Mr Godwin's son came out and told me that they were rated best overall by Angie's List which didn't set well with me because he was trying to say that they were the best company on Angie's List. They got most of the roof done and then ran out of shingles and said they would come back the next day. At approximately 3pm the next day I called to see where they were and they said we didn't forget about you and sent out someone that same day. The man that showed up told me that he couldn't believe we forgot you. The work was done and the quality seems good. I also had to call them to come back out to do the siding because I think they forgot me again however when they came to do the siding approximately 3 weeks after the roof, it looks nice and they did a good job. They needed to communicate better on the time frame of both jobs.

They originally informed me that they would be out in approx. A week and a half to do the estimate. 3 weeks later I called them again, they apologized and said someone would come out in a couple of days and if no one was at home they would leave the estimate for me. To this day I have not heard anything from this company and this has been since the end of May to early June.

My husband called Godwin during the week of July 10, and was told that they would call him back the next to day to schedule an estimate. They never called. Being on Angie's list is very beneficial in many ways for companies, but if your support staff is falling down on the job, you will ruin your reputation before you secure a job. All they had to do was to return 1 phone call.

They were very informative and professional. I did not choose them because I went with the company that I originally had do the roof, but they were right on the money.

They didn't do a thing they said that they would. They were messy and they left nails everywhere. They never told us when they were going to show up they just showed up and started working.

I'm very pleased with Godwin. They responded quickly, got the job done ahead of schedule, and sent a terrific work crew. The crew did a very good job, worked quickly (in spite of 90-degree heat), and did such a thorough clean-up, I was amazed!

They were very fast and very efficient and they did a good job. They also cleaned up everything.

Eight years ago, the project supervisor (Bob Owens) was pulled from the site and problems with installation began. No one working would listen to my complaints; phone calls to the office were either not returned or were dismissed. The 2006 hailstorm opened my eyes to the opportunity that Godwin might have to fix some of the problems. I have proposed the following: In exchange for Godwin taking on our hailstorm repair project, I would like to have Bob Owens on the entire project. If he sees, when removing the damaged siding, original installation that he would not find acceptable, I would like Godwin to remedy the problem at no cost to me, or to my insurance company. I would also like Mr. Owens to look at the siding and trim around the entire home, and determine that the work done was to his expectations. In exchange for a new job, I just would like for Godwins new management to take responsibility for old problems ignored in an attempt to finish a large project in a short time.

Called them because of the high rating on this website. I thought their prices on similar homes was very good.

Said that they would call me to schedule a visit within a few days. Did not receive a call (voicemail) until weeks later. They apologized and said for me to call if I was still interested in them looking at the roof. I called and left a message that I was interested. Has been two weeks and I still haven't heard from them.

I have made two calls to Godwin Homes to schedule an appointment for an estimate. I made these calls on April 18 and May 14 but they never returned either one of my calls.

I thought the workers were wonderful. They worked so hard, so thorough and left nothing behind. The work was completed in a timely manner, did a very good job. There was some confusion about who was to install the Venetian blinds and we worked out a compromise. Their bid was good compared to the others we received.

I waited from 1-4PM (3 hours!) on Monday April 14th for the company representative to show up. He never showed and he never bothered to call. When he did show up at 5pm, he left a rude note.

So far it has been a positive experience.
