We were fully informed about the work being done, given a chance to inspect the job and were notified of repeated visits by the workers. R&M did not just hurry up and grab the money. They insisted on getting the right materials. The weather turned bad, and some of the finish touches were not completed. Our mortgage was sold during the process and R&M worked with insurance and the mortgage company
Description of Work: Our home was hit yet again with a hail storm. This one wasn't as severe, so we weren't in any rush to file a claim, especially after having filed one for gutter damming during the winter of 2011-12. R&M canvassed the neighborhood after the storm and were leery of doing business with door-to-door or telephone solicitors. The gentleman offered a free inspection of our home and after confirming it was actually free with no strings attached, I said, "Knock yourself out." I didn't think there was that much damage put it was pointed out that roofs screens and siding were more banged up than I realized. OK. Contingent on our insurance company covering a complete repair to anything caused by this storm, I gave permission for him to precede with getting our house fixed. Winter was closing in and when the weather allowed, replaced the roof, replaced the siding (and went out of their way to hunt down a complete match of s discontinued color and in one spot sided a whole section because of faded sections not matching.) Porch screens were replaced. The out building was accounted for where the door had been damaged by wind.. R&M dug deep to discover additional issues left unaddressed by previous repairs by contractors and included those repairs in the distribution from the insurance company.

 + 0 moreAfter a bad hail storm, R&M inspected my roof, free of charge. Damage was noted so I contacted my insurance company who in turn scheduled a visit from the adjuster. The R&M Project Manager met the adjuster at my house and went over the damage. The claim was approved. Even before the 1st check from the insurance company was received, R&M completed the new roof and also replaced all screens damaged by the storm. Throughout the entire process, I had to do nothing more than call the insurance company to initiate the claim. R&M took care of everything else - this was as painless a procedure as I have ever experienced. The roof looks great and when I walked it later I found only quality workmanship. I would highly recommend this company based both upon the quality and timeliness of their work as well as their customer service.
Description of Work: Removed old roofing and damaged vents, inspected the decking, and installed a new roof and ridge vents.

 + 1 moreevery repair was done on a timely schedule, and their workers were very polite.They followed up with phone calls from their office to make sure everything was done. I only had to talk to the insurance company once! They handled the rest.
Description of Work: After noticing damage to our roof vents and siding I contacted R M Construction. They sent out a representative the very next day, inspected the damage and assured me that they would work with the insurance company. They contacted the insurance company and met with the adjuster the same day. They were able to negotiate with the insurance company to cover all of the damage.They replaced the roof on the house and garage as well as siding and gutters. They even helped to arrange the repair of the chimney.

 + -1 moreThe experience was great. The salesman came to our house and explained the insurance claim information line by line. I was shown a variety of colors for my new roof, and they upgraded the shingles and installed 4 new roof vents all for what the insurance payout was. I left for work in the morning with a leaky roof and came home to a beautiful new roof completely installed and no mess left behind. I would definitely do business with them in the future.
Description of Work: R M construction replaced my roof after storm damage. They were very professional and helpful throughout the entire process. They furnished me detailed information on how to contact my insurance company and then worked with my adjuster even when he showed up without an appointment. RM construction called me the day before the work day, completed the tear off and replacement in one day and completely cleaned up the work site.

 + 4 moreI highly recommend R & M. I moved into a house that needed a lot of work. I originally contacted them for a leak in my roof, but they have helped me with many other projects. They have replaced my roof, re-sided my home, put in kitchen counters and a new sink, put in tile and hardwood floors, and done an outstanding job in every case. And they stand behind their work... When there was a problem with the flashing on my roof, they came out the same day I called to make an adjustment and make sure I was 100% satisfied. They use subcontractors for a lot of the work, but I like that I can call them no matter who did the work and they will handle getting someone to my house if needed. In addition, I called several places on a couple of projects, and they were able to the beat the prices and timeliness of everyone I called, again, I think it's because they have such a good pool of subcontractors.
Description of Work: Re-siding my house. Other projects: replaced my roof, installed sink and kitchen cabinets, put in tile and hardwood floors, and more.

 + 1 moreThe company has lied to me, did an unaccetable job, very unprofessioal about showing up when scheduled with a lame excuse each time. I should nothave to call to find out where the crew is at or if they are coming at all. I will not recommend them and if asked tell the person inquiring to look for someone else.
Description of Work: R&M came to us askling about putting on a new roof on our house. This would be no cost to us but would bill our insurance company. After the insurance company came out and looked at the roof, they okayed for patching the roof and putting new gutters on the house. This was done, but it was not without a headache and hassles. I had to continually make phone calls to their office asking "when are we going to get our repair?" Their work crews were unprofessional and looked like the comany just hired them off the street. Work would be done and I would have to call them out again and again to make repairs. Then it would take forever to come out to my house. The work was finally done and I never got a call to come out and do the final review and collect their final check. That was in late October 2012. Last week I received a call from Bob asking if I had their final check? I informed him that no one came out to do their final review. He promised twice last week to show up and never showed up. I even called to see what the problem was and he promised to show up the next day and never did.

I have a leak in the soffit of the roof and have also wanted a quote on the siding of the yard barn, as the shop and house were already completed. I have talked with the owner and understand medical issues have been in the way, but I would like for the job to be completed and the soffit to be repaired.

 + 1 moreA few months ago we had a bad storm come through leaving hail damage to our roof, siding and dented the gutters. Friends of mine referred me to R & M Construction after they went through a similar experience last year. Jeff Coates, a representative for R & M, came out to inspect the damage and explained the process of working with our insurance company. He even came out the day the adjuster from our insurance company did his own inspection. I feel like we received a fair price for all the work that needed to be done. I absolutely love our new roof and was happy to see they could repair the holes in our siding. They did such a good job matching the color of it that you cannot tell we ever had damage. They also replaced our gutters, and repaired and painted in a few other places I had initially didn't even see myself. Everyone I came across or talked to on the phone from their office was pleasant and helpful which took a lot of stress and worry about the repairs off of me. Jeff came by often and was always available to talk to by phone to answer all the questions I had. I've never had to deal with having repairs of this level at my home and was so pleased at how easy everything went and would be happy to have them back again. Thanks to R & M Construction!

 + 0 moreA Hail storm hit our home in April. R& M was in the neighborhood. They came to my door and asked if everything was okay? I heard the hail hitting but I was not sure if there was anything wrong. They asked me if it was okay if they could look to be sure everything was okay before they left? I said okay and I sure am glad they did. My skylight was busted and water had been leaking in my bathroom. They put a tarp over my skylight so no further damage would be done. They gave me their business card and told me if I would like them to they would meet with the adjuster to point out the damage. I was so grateful that I had them to help me since my husband was out of town. They met with the adjuster and handled everything for me. They replaced my roof and gutters and cleaned up the mess. I was well pleased with the service

 + 0 moreShortly after severe storms hit New Harmony, IN on March 1, 2012 , Jimmy Murphy from R&M Construction came to our home and introduced himself. He asked if we were interested in getting our roof and gutters replaced. We explained that we were waiting to save some money before we started getting estimates. He told us that R&M handles all the paper work with the insurance company and even would be here to meet with the adjuster from our insurance company when the inspection was done to assess the damage. Bottom line was that it would not cost us anything out of pocket - they would even absorb our deductible! We were skeptical at first, but after reading reviews on Angie's list from others who had used this company we decided to let them do the job. Jimmy was very professional and polite and kept us informed through the whole process. The work was completed in a very timely manner. Also, there was absolutely no cleanup required from us. Their crews left our property in excellent condition when they finished. Bottom line - we were very pleased with the service R&M Construction provided, and would absolutely recommend them to anyone!

 + 1 moreHe was a no call no show on several occasions, there was a lack of communication between the contractor and the installers. The work was average not really sure of the material used just hope it was up to par. The contractor makes a lot of promises that never come to fruition. Now I have to find a contractor to fix the above mentioned issues and to give me an accurate estimate on the inside job.
Description of Work: Don't hire R M construction. There was a storm that came in March according to the contractor on the roof new shingles, flash the chimney and two new turbines, the exterior of the house new siding if their lab couldn't find a match or something close to it, new gutters, new roof on the garage and re screened front porch. Phase 1: Roofing. When the work was to begin I asked the contractor/salesman who the Forman was and he didn't know and he didn't know if they would even be American. That was another flag but I overlooked it. I told him in the beginning that I had a septic tank buried underneath the drive way nearest to the garage and they couldn't drive there. It was a Saturday morning and I guess the Forman showed up with a dump truck he didnt know that the garage was to be re roofed. After about two hours the roofing crew showed up and they didn't speak English and I didn't speak Spanish. The roof was done quickly on the house and looked good but then I noticed they only installed one new turbine and used one of the damaged turbines. I called R M and my contractor was home in Greenfield I guess so I had to talk to his brother and he assured me that he'd bring one over no problem or so I thought and satisfied with that answer I hung up. No sooner than I hung up the crew started to back the dump truck up toward my septic tank thank God no is kinda universal and after nearly being ran over they stopped. I had to explain to them as best I could there was a septic tank right were they we're fixing to drive. I finally went into the house after nearly watching them for hours taking pictures of everything. When they left I went outside to look at the new shingles and turbines and it looked good but upon closer inspection I noticed that my white damaged turbine was painted black to match the new one. I didn't get an apology what I got was basically that his roofing crew was so incompetent they couldn't communicate to him that they had painted the old turbine. He did eventually get his roofer to correct this issue as well as a small leak that I had from my rubber roof. A lot of nails that was left in my driveway. Phase 2: Siding. Figures that they would find a close match and the installation looked pretty good although the corners don't match the old siding there are some trim issues that I was told insurance would not pay for and on the back window after being told on many occasions they would fix it I was told how to fix it. In this phase a few windows and my front porch was re screened. I have noticed now how the trim that holds the screen was over torqued and is wavy but some sides of the trim stick out and are an eye sore. Phase 3: Gutters. I told the contractor/salesman to hide the corner by a downspout and what I got was a downspout no where near the corner and the back gutter didn't catch water. The installer came back out here moved the downspout and lowered the back gutter so that it would catch water. I had an inside job, another roof job and possible a contract with the city. The other roof job wich was my mother n laws he was a no call no show twice, the city contract he has to much work and my inside job he was going to do another estimate a week ago.

 + 3 moreA tornado came through my town in May of 2011. We had hail and wind damage. The owner of this company came to our house to ask us to hire R&M Construction. He promised a good price and wonderful quality. His estimate was fair. We hired him. It is almost a year later and the work is not complete. We have had to hire another contractor to finish and or repair his company's work. The communication with R&M Construction has been absolutely horrible. At times we had to wait a whole month for a call back. There were several crews that came to our house. One of the crew members called me a horrible name in Spanish, and used very foul language while addressing me in front of my son. After the third contact guy for the company, we were assigned the guy that was going to make sure everything was taken care of. He was the worst of all. He didn't return calls. During one of our conversations, he hung up on me. The work that is complete is shotty and less than quality work. R&M skimped on material, replaced my existing shingles with cheaper ones, used the cheapest insulation but charged for the higher quality insulation, they charged me for work that was NOT done, and left a huge mess in my yard. One of the crews showed up on a Sunday night at about 8:00 p.m. (with an interpreter) to pick up his trailer. The trailer was gone, and I felt nervous. I called the police. During months of trying get the matter resolved I was told that the owner would call me back, and that I would receive a fax stating the agreed upon prices. The fax never came. The owner of R&M refused to return my call for weeks at a time, and the 'foreman' on our job did the same thing. Last month (April of 2012 after contacting the "office manager" to resolve this, she told me that Ron would be calling me back. He called on the 9th day in May,threatened a lien on my house and hung up on me. DON'T EVER HIRE R&M Construction for anything. The overall experience with this company has been and continues to be a nightmare. They are the most unprofessional company I have ever experienced.
Description of Work: They promised quality work at a fair price and did NOT stand up to that. The work was horrible, but the professionalism of this contractor is worse.

Whenever we had a question. we did not have to go through several people to get an answer. They cleaned up any debris left over before leaving for the day. They were well mannered.  + 3 moreThey did an awesome job from start to finish!!! They were available for us to meet with our insurance adjustor and go thru all the paperwork in and outs we needed to file our claim! They worked with us around our crazy schedules to make sure we matched all of our colors on our roof, siding, gutters and our garage door! I was so excited when I came home and saw my new roof I know that sounds crazy but that is how much I loved the new look and color we were able to get!!!! I would highly recommend them for any job you would need done to your home! Their workers and staff surpassed my expectations and I know they will yours!!! I just can't express how pleased I was with their work and how courteous they were!!!!

 + -1 moreHe has went above and beyond what we expected in an estimate. We had another company come give us an estimate. The difference between the two bids was between night and day. There was much more that we needed done and R&M construction was able to identify the important factors and advise what we actually needed. R & M construction even has better quality of their supplies. They are even handing all of the paperwork for us which takes a big headache off my shoulders.

 + 2 moreIt went really well. Ron completed his work in the time frame he said and the work was excellent. He did extensive drywall repair and painting of the interior of the sanctuary. He also install a new roof. His workers clean up all the singles removed from the roof. He was very easy to work with and was very interested in completing his work to our satisfaction. This was an insurance claim and he worked with the adjuster to complete the estimate. Ron does both commercial and residential work.
Description of Work: Massengale Construction was hired to do extensive repair to the interior of my church. We had severe leaking and damage to the drywall.

 + 2 moreTo begin, Ron Massengale, owner of R&M Construction was instrumental in getting my insurance claim approved. After my initial claim for hail damage was rejected, Ron took the lead in dealing with the insurance company and provided the necessary information/data to get the rejection overturned. The work itself was exemplary: Ron and his crews were very professional, thorough, and did not attempt to cut corners. Not only was I impressed with their quality of work; their speed and cleanliness was beyond approach. As I've dealt with a number of undesirable contractors in the past, it was quite refreshing to deal with a man like Ron Massengale. When it comes to any of my future home repairs, maintenance, or upgrades, Ron will be the first person I call, whether he's able to assist me or not.
Description of Work: Via an insurance claim for hail damage, R&M Construction replaced my roof, gutters, and downspouts, and repaired/replaced some interior drywall and sub-floor.
