Kessinger Lawn Care

Purchased the big deal offered thru angie's list. they called and came to perform services.

It went well - as I expected.

Last spring I signed up for ADeal provided by Kessinger for three applications of lawn fert. and weed control. They were able to complete 2 treatments prior to this summer's drought (any treatment during that time would have been a waste of money) We appreciated that he was ethical and did not automatically treat during the drought. On Oct. 12th they came to do the third treatment, at that time Mr. Kessinger (owner) walked the property with us giving price quotes for additional work. Tne next day he called me to give date--the following Monday--in a quick response--to complete the entire winterization of lawn and trees. We also wanted him to clean out fence row. On Monday team and owner arrived at designated time, and completed previously arranged work. We were very pleased with the work.

It was a little confusing trying to contact them at first, but the treatments for my lawn has helped tremendously. Even with the drought and my large oak trees (which tend to have an adverse effect on grass), my lawn has stayed green all summer and is a lot fuller. This is the best my lawn has ever looked.

Company called ahead so I knew when they would arrive and I could have yard clear. Showed on time and did as expected.

Only received 2 lawn applications It took 2-3 weeks before they responded to the Big Deal. I call and e-mail them. Work was to be finished by the end of Spring Only one application was made in Spring One in summer, then I did not see or hear from them. Not really a Big Deal, but a Bad Deal.

We had discussion over the phone about where to do the aeration and how to mark it off so they could easily identify the area. They were able to do the service without someone being home so we didn't have to take time off work. I came home on the day of the appointment and it was completed. Unfortunately with no rain this summer it didn't help the grass but I felt the process was worth it.

Bought a coupon through Angie's List for fall cleanup. Scheduling was easy and they came when expected. They did a nice job.

I purchased the "Big Deal" with Kessinger Lawn care. The service received was not completed. The final application in the fall was not performed. The other applications were not satisfactory either. The first application was a weed pre-treatment that was applied well after the weeds had emerged and taken over the yard. The second treatment was was fertilizer and was applied. The first two applications were "missed" by them. I contacted the owner's wife and was told that my home was on the second page of the area, and that is how it was missed. They did come back and get it, but both times I had to contact the owner and get the treatment done. The third treatment has not been received. I called the owner's wife and spoke to her on September 14th and no treatment was done. I emailed the owners on October 15th, and no return was received. I guess I paid for two applications and they were not satisfactory.

Kept bugs to a minimum in the basement and living areas. After I purchased this deal they set up each service call at appropriate intervals and left a flyer on the door to let me know when service was completed as well as instruction related to my dog and when he could go into the treated area. I would definitely use Kessingers for lawn care including fertilizing and weed control as well as insect control again.

They came out and did a good job and did it quickly. I think it was a really good deal! I plan on using them again!

I bought an Angie's List Big Deal for core aeration and added to it at the discount rate to get both front and back yards aerated. Ultimately, everything worked out okay, but getting to that was a little tricky. I had a problem communicating with Mr. Kessinger. He left a message when we were out of town. By the time I got the message the day he wanted to do the aeration had come and gone. I called him back and left messages. Twice, I left messages and once his voice mailbox was full. When I finally reached him, he was not happy that I had not called him back! When I explained that I had left messages, I don't think he believed me. We set up a day to have the core aeration done and I asked him to give me a quote on lawn fertilization also. The day of the appointment came around and I called to confirm that he was still coming. It's a good thing I called, I wasn't on "the list" of lawns to be done that day, but the guy doing aeration was working in a neighborhood near my house, so he took care of it that day. A few days later, I got a phone call from Mrs. Kessinger asking if my yard had been aerated yet! I told her it had been done and everything was fine. Once again, I asked for a quote for fertilization. She said she would get it out in the mail. I have never received it. All in all, they did a good job, but it's just so hard to deal with them that I don't think I'll call them back.

Good job, fair price, good service.

This was a special deal of three applications for a fixed price. I know they came twice, because I saw them, and they may very well have come a third time without my being aware of it. I can only judge the quality of their work by the condition of my lawn: Though this was a very bad year for lawns in general, mine looks significantly better than it did this time last year. There is much less crabgrass, which was a principal concern of mine, and the over-all condition has not otherwise deteriorated. So, all in all, I guess they did OK.

The Kessinger Lawn Care Service did an excellent job on my lawn. So much so, that I hired them to cut my lawn all summer. They followed through on every commitment, and my lawn has never looked better. I have recommended them to all of my neighbors.

They came out the day they said they would and did everything including taking down a dead tree. We signed up for 4 more lawn care visits. They never came back and never called to inform why they hadn't come back. I willnot use them again.

The service was ok. There was a little bit of minor communication challenges which presented somewhat of a problem. Other than that, the service turned out fine.

Everything went well. The workers were very nice and did a thorough job.

Kessinger Lawn Care did a fantastic job at a great price. They cleaned the leaves off the roof and cleaned the gutters and flushed out the downspouts. In addition, they removed all the leaves, which were considerable, from the front and back yard. If that wasn't enough, they trimmed about a dozen of our bushes and hauled away the debris and finally, cut the grass before they left. We were very impressed at their professionalism and quality of their work. Kevin stayed in touch and advised us what days they would be out since it was pretty rainy during that time. We are planning on having them take care of that same yard work this Fall.

Both aerations were done in March. Work was performed satisfactorily although I had to take the initiative to get work scheduled. It was difficult to reach the vendor, usually got voice mail and had to leave a message. Sometimes it took a follow-up call to make contact. Calls were not usually returned or returned promptly. Lawn treatment was a different story. Again there was difficulty in making contact. Had to work around vendor's schedule to get the work scheduled. Had first service in late March, 2nd service in mid-May, still have yet to receive 3rd service. Understand that drought and watering ban delayed final service but that's over now and I'm due a 3rd service. Made two calls recently, had to leave a message both times. Calls were not returned. Perhaps the work was already done and no one bothered to let me know? Vendor is a small company located in Greenfield while I live in Avon, maybe that's part of the problem? Perhaps the drought put them out of business? Sensed I was dealing with a shoestring outfit. Disappointed in their professionalism I guess. Live and learn.

I saw this big deal for a spring lawn aeration on Angie's List. I looked at their reviews and saw that some people had been forgotten about. I thought I would give them a try anyway. When they called to schedule, they also said they could do a deep root fertilization on our shrubs and trees for a total of $140. They said they would call back when they were scheduling in our area ( about 2-3 weeks). They never called back and I tried to call several times before I got a hold of them, about a month later. They had forgotten about us. They apologized and got us scheduled for the next week. They were done doing the deep root fertilization but because they had promised me, they would make a special batch of the solution. The day came and they did not show, so I called. They had us down for the next day but they were having equipment trouble and the weather was not cooperating. I understood and they did make it by the end of that week. They did have equipment problems while they were here and had to leave to fix the problem. They came back a couple of hours later and knocked out the rest of the work. All the people I talked with were very nice and once they got here, they did good work. I would suggest someone to do all the scheduling to keep things together so people are not forgotten.

Because of the extremely hot summer and the drought, I am unable to rate this company. They did the three applications that they were supposed to do but again, the weather conditions prevent me from giving them a complete evalution.

The company performed the lawn fertilization in a timely and professional manner. We would use this company again.
