Kessinger Lawn Care

It went fine last year. I tried to use them again this year but they never returned my phone calls.

I had several different types of weeds (dandilions, broadleaf etc.) and emailed and called Kissinger with questions. Never heard back. Wanted to make sure they were treating for everything on next treatments and have no idea what they atually did. The weeds did not seem to get better so i'm not confident they did what I asked them to do.

Work done well. Had a few areas of lawn torn up (that employee was subsequently let go). Owner apologized and fixed the areas.

The fence took more than 3 months to complete. During this time there were many promised and missed dates. The final paint job was definitely not something to be proud of. When I spoke with them on the final day he said it was ok to paint wet wood because they were using a water based paint. How was that different than waiting for the wood to be dry so that you could paint during the last 2 months? The paint ended up discolored in many places due to the wood being wet. There are a number of places where it has not been painted. Just bare wood exposed to the elements. I will need to hire someone else to come in and finish painting the exposed areas with a sprayer. During the build of the fence I expressed some concerns about how rough some of the pickets looked but I was told they would be sanded and cleaned up before being painted. They were not sanded and just painted as they were built. I was told that they could successfully recreate our current fence and make it join up with the old one. The new posts and pickets look different enough from the old ones that it appears obvious to me where the old fence ends and the new one begins. One of my wishes at the beginning was to keep the fence looking the same. The new gate had issues which were resolved for now. I suspect that over time it will sag again and I'll be back in the same situation. The owner pointed out that there was a missing picket over the left gate post and that he would replace it. It never was replaced. In many places the tops of the pickets do not line up. I'm not sure how this can happen when a professional builds a fence. I'm not a construction guy, but I know that you adjust the bottoms of the pickets to make sure the tops line up. Then there was an issue with a permit not being filed. The city official came out and stated that a permit had to be filed. This resulted in 5 posts have to be cut and reset. I paid the extra $450 amount that they requested. I was not sure who was responsible for this. As far as extra costs were concerned it was not until the fence was built that I was told there was more money needed since the original estimate was only for the front and side and did not include the partial side that was also built. The whole project has been a mess and I don't think it played to this company's strength. After the comment about being ok to paint wet wood I decided to end my relationship with Kessingers. If you need lawn mowing or treatment they would be fine. Anything else, move along.

I can tell the difference inthe yard that he did and the one that he didn't do. I Will have him come again .

I used an Angie's List Big Deal special offer for this service. I did try to contract with them for lawn care services but, quite frankly, they are so poorly run that they never showed up when they were supposed to and had very poor back office-type support. I ended up canceling my contract with them.

The service went fine. Kessinger Lawn Care did what they needed to do and got out. They didn't take really long to do the job.

I was happy to have my lawn areated. I had to call a couple times and ask when they would be over.

He gave me a price for the mow, and also told me he would fill in my sinkhole for $20. He left, and I never heard from him again. I went ahead and hired another mower.

The owner came out to give estimate on the same day I called and was able to provide service on same day. The employees are very kind and professional!!! My neighbors hired them after seeing what a great job they did with our yard.

It was difficult to get the service scheduled, partly due to the spring rains. They performed the service as expected/requested. After the service I inquired about future lawn care. I did not receive a timely response and did not pursue it further.

They showed up three times and met the terms of the contract. I haven't seen any improvement yet because of the drought. I was happy with them at the time. I didn't receive a phone call or email telling me they were coming out so I couldn't mow my lawn.

We purchased the deal last spring but we had a sprinkler issue. He said once the sprinkler issue was resolved to give him a call back and he would be able to do the work. Once we got back to him, it was too late to do the work so we pushed it back again to the fall. In the fall, he wasn’t responding to phone calls so I requested a refund. Once I requested the refund, he e-mailed me back and we agreed to wait until the spring. Now that it is spring, I called and spoke to his wife who stated he would call me back. I haven’t heard back from him and we have just decided not to have the work done.

He was going to show up at 8 am. He did not show up till 5pm. He never called called to tell me he was going to be late. The weed killer never killed a single dandelion, even my neighbors started me to ask me why I wouldn't treat my lawn. I called him and he told me that I should have called. I didn't know how long it would take. Now that I am using another provider the dandelions were dead within a few weeks.

Bad part was it was a dry summer so you can't blame that on the company. With that said, they were terrible about communicating when they would be here. They would show up without us knowing so we couldn't prep yard properly. They seemed to rush through the whole process, probably because they sold so many.

AFTERWARDS GRASS DID NOT LOOK THAT HEALTHY AND HAD BROWN PATCHES. DID NOT KNOCK ON THE DOOR TO ANNOUNCE THEIR PRESCENCE JUST WENT STRAIGHT TO THE OUTDOOR FAUCET AND STARTED TO USE MY WATER. OVERALL EXPERIENCE WAS NOT THAT GOOD ESPECIALLY WITH OUTCOME OF APPEARANCE AFTER THEY HAD SPRAYED.

It went well. I have no complaints.

We used Kessinger Lawn Care for everything noted above last year. We essentially handed control to them and told them to make our lawn, landscaping, etc. look good. We wanted a hands off approach and wanted a company that could handle everything needed with little supervision. However, we ran into many problems that required us to take a hands on approach and at times we felt we had to "baby-sit", monitor everything, and demand for the job to be done correctly. On the positive side, Kessinger Lawn Care had good prices and at times did good work when they took their time to do the job right. In the instances that the job was not done correctly (noted below), they did make some attempt to rectify the situation. On the negative, as mentioned above we had many problems. They didn't always show up for their scheduled appointments, and didn't bother to call or email to reschedule. Many times I had to call or email them. When they did show up, they were always in a rush and the attention to detail was seriously lacking. We had a weekly service for mowing/trimming/weeding and cleanup. On the weeks that they did show up, they were in and out in 15-20 minutes. In most cases they didn't weed properly, missed items on trimming, etc. There were several instances of having to call them and demand for someone to come back out and complete the job. They were good about sending someone back out, but I shouldn't have had to do that in the first place. At one point last summer our yard looked absolutely horrible. A few things contributed to this including our sprinkler system being nonfunctional for 2 weeks and the extreme heat. However, once we were past those the yard still looked bad...extremely dry and brown and overgrown with weeds and flower beds full of weeds as well. While I know the heat was a factor, other yards in the neighborhood recovered nicely and looked much better than ours. Fall cleanup required 2 visits as again the first time they came they did a very quick job and missed several very obvious items. I asked them to come back and they did send a crew out to fix everything...although yet again I had to supervise them and continue to point out items they were missing. Items that were very obvious and if they spent just a few minutes looking around, they would have noticed and been able to take care of those without me having to point them out. We have not continued our service with Kessinger this year due to the many issues detailed above.

They tell you that they are going to treat the yard for weed and control and fertilize the yard. The price that they give you for the three applications does not include what the size of the yard is. Every time they came, they were going to charge me 25 dollars more. I would not recommend anybody to use them.

They were very good and I think the service kept down the dandelions.

I bought an Angie's List Big Deal coupon for this service but after I arranged with them to come out and do the work they never did it. They have never come out to do this service that I paid for. The gentleman was very nice when I talked with him but they did not come out to perform the service.
