Description of Work: Art arrived at the scheduled time. He scanned the interior and exterior of our home with his thermal camera explaining his findings along the way. He offered his thoughts on the cause and suggestions for improvement. Since he is not associated with another company, he was not trying to sell me anything. He just provided feedback to improve our homes heating/cooling efficiency. He mailed us a paper copy of his completed report that included photos of the thermal images and regular pictures to help identify the exact location. He also emailed us a digital copy of the report as well. Very knowledgeable and polite.

Description of Work: Infrared inspection for leaks with door vacuum system set up. Highly recommend. He doesn't try to sell you anything. Just makes suggestions about improving your home. Highly recommend. |Any insulation company will give you a "free" energy audit. And of course they will sell you something. |Infrared technologies just gives you the facts and improvement suggestions. That's exactly what I wanted. Great service.

Description of Work: Infrared pics were taken of the inside areas of our house to show where the temps were cold. Also a blower door check was done so I could see where air leaks were coming into the house. I now know I have to replace a door and some windows in this 1929 home to make it use less energy to heat. Very happy with the information I got out of this service.

Description of Work: 1-Walked through the house with the IR camera, showing me areas void of insulation….. Very informative. 2-Art attached a blower unit to an open door, to generate a negative pressure in the house. Then he walked through the house, again with the IR camera, showing me areas that were drawing in cool air from the outside because of the negative pressure. Art mentioned that caulking the inside would stop most of that. I had never thought of caulking on the inside of a house, but now, that makes a lot of sense....good to know. Art emailed me all the pictures within two days. I also received a nice bound report of the entire job about a week later. I'm sure I can save some energy dollars by paying close attention to the areas pointed out in this report.

Description of Work: I have an older home (1950) that has cold/hot spots. Mr. Art Thompkins came to my home armed with an infrared camera. He took pictures of window, wall and door areas. These areas clearly show a lack of insulation. Art explained that home of this era were not insulated as they are today. What a disappointment, I did not know that. He checked out my whole house, even outside. He also mailed a very professional report that show the infrared areas of concern next to a photo of the area as seen by the naked eye. It was very interesting. I have the report for future reference. I asked Art what I could do about it, because I wanted the least invasive remedy for this situation, i.e., insulating from inside or outside or tearing out walls for foam board insulation. He referred me to a company that I later found to have no BBB rating.

Description of Work: We took advantage of the Angie's list deal so we had to wait for the appointment. Art Tompkins, the solo operator of Infrared Technologies, called after we bought the deal to say there would be a delay until after the holidays. That was fine with us. He called to make the appointment, then called again to confirm the night before the appointment. He brought a special infrared/digital camera and went through every room including down to the finished and unfinished basement. He scanned every wall and window and corner for signs of leakage or insufficient insulation. After going through once, he set up a fan at the front door to set up a negative pressure which might reveal more leaks. Then he went through the house with the camera again. As he promised when he left, an email report of photos and comments arrived in my email box the next day, and a hard copy of that report arrived in the mail four days later. Throughout the process he was professional, but also personable, and encouraged me to watch the screen as much as I wanted for the changes of color which indicate heat leakage. Art has owned several houses and rental properties and done much of the work on them, so he knows how they are put together and is willing to be a teacher to the extent that one wants to ask questions. I feel we have good information and suggestions to follow up on as we wish without being pressured to buy any services, since that is not part of his business.

He initially examined our home with infrared technology. He then performed a blower test and repeated the infrared review. I was extremely happy with the service and professionalism exhibited by this company and its owner. I highly recommend this firm!!!
