Their service turned out good. Overall I was pleased with their work. The job did turn out okay. They did something that really surprised me. They had to sand it down all the way to the bare floor and then put a finish on top. They came in the first day and got it all sanded down and swept it all up. They then put the first coat of finish on it. The 2nd time they came in to put one of the top coats on. When they did that, they did not sweep the floor. There were little dust nubs and hairs that were stuck in the finish of my floor since they didn’t sweep. It seemed logical to me that the first thing you would do before putting on a 2nd coat would be to sweep the floor. For the most part you cannot see that stuff, but I am a little surprised they didn’t sweep the floor first. I would probably use them again; however I would get a clarification up front of the process they would use. I would also make it clear to them I want the floor swept between coats.

It went really well. Theresa came at the time the wood was delivered, so that we got exactly what was ordered. She was also very helpful over the phone with scheduling etc. Mark was very accommodating. He always showed up on time with his crew. They worked hard, and were very conscientious. They tried to eliminate as much dust as possible by putting up plastic. They were neat, and cleaned up after themselves each day, and best of all, they were done ahead of schedule. They also were very clear on how long I could hang around my house, and how long I would need to be off the floors totally. They were very professional.

Cox Hardwood does a great job. Their price is better than most and they communicate with you very good. I thought I would have to do a lot of cleaning once the project was done. I am very happy to say there was only minimal dust. The floors are beautiful and smooth. I highly recommend them to anyone who is planning to refinish their floors.

The outcome was great! It took about 4 weeks to get on their schedule and the work required about 4 days to complete. A last minute trip meant we had to be away while Mark and his crew performed the work. I left a couple of photos on the stain color I was looking for and Mark was super flexible to put stain down, send a few pics and then discuss our options. I was a little nervous having picked out the color via iPhone, but I was pleasantly surprised with the color and quality! The floors are a rich red / yellow and the quality seems to be very good. There was almost no dust or debris once we returned home. I highly recommend Cox. Thanks!

Mark Cox promptly responded to all of our phone calls. His estimate was simple and he gave the best price out of the three companies we checked. He does the work himself and is always on-site during the work. He was friendly, honest, prompt and did a wonderful job. We were shocked at how well that old floor looked when he was finished. He took the time to remove many old pet stains and fill in several holes.

This is the third project I have had them do. I did not, and will not, consider anyone else! Teresa is wonderful about scheduling and staying on top of the project details. She has excellent communication skills. Mark arrives when he says he will and is good about explaining how the project will be done and asking questions of clarification. He and his crew get to work promptly and do beautiful work. They make old oak floors look wonderful. They clean up after themselves and are a pleasure to have in the home. It doesn't hurt that they love dogs--mine like to get attention from Mark! I enthusiastically recommend Cox Flooring!

Mark and his helper just left after putting the final coat of finish on my floor. A year ago I had them do half of the house and I knew I wanted them back when I had finished some more renovations. I was not disappointed! They did a wonderful job. Some of the floor had to be repaired with wood taken from another place in the house and that went smoothly. They cleaned up after themselves very well and are easy to work with, very considerate. Teresa keeps everyone on schedule and is an excellent communicator before the job and during it both by e-mail and by phone. Mark also advises of any delays the day the job is to begin. One needs to schedule pretty far out to get them, but they are worth the wait. I was tempted to go with someone who could do the job sooner, but I am so glad I waited. I will use them again near the end of the year when I get some more renovation done. You won't be disappointed in their work!

It went very well. My wife is preparing her father's house for sale and the carpets were in bad shape, so she called Cox's Hardwood Flooring for a quote to refinish the hardwood floors. Mark Eads, Sr. quoted us a very good price. When my wife told him she needed the work done as soon as possible, he made sure the work was done well before her deadline. The work was done in plenty of time to get it on the market. The quality of the work was top notch, and extra efforts were made to give it nice finishing touches for no extra cost. Mark was exceptionally easy to work with and we would recommend Cox's Hardwood Flooring without hesitation.

Everything was all very positive. They were very courteous, helpful, and considerate. Loved that the owner did the work. Every other company we used had multiple crews. It seemed like you were getting the C or D crew instead of the A crew.

They refinished about 800 square feet with original hardwood. I would use them again in the future.

Although it had been recently refinished, our kitchen floor looked terrible, with lots of deep scratches and a poor finish. The Cox crew did a fantastic job: They were careful to cover our new cabinets with plastic, were very neat when they applied the stain, and the floor looks brand new. We will not hesitate to call them for our next flooring job.

I didn't have to get my baseboards repainted. He did such a nice job and was on time. They cleaned up after themselves.

They quickly gave me a quote, on the spot. I called the next day and scheduled the whole house to be done and then reconsidered, considering that we had to move the furniture out of the rooms. This caused a slight delay in getting the second part of the job being done because they had filled in their schedule. The day of both jobs the company was efficient, punctual and dependable. The floors look amazing. I would highly recommend this company.

This is the second time we have had Cox work on our hardwood floors. The first time they did a full refinish and this time was a rescreening. Looked great both times. Easy to work with and quality work. We changed our appointment on them a couple times and they worked with us to make sure the schedule worked.

They did a beautiful job. They finished the job quickly and the detail work was very nice. I was very happy with their work.

The people at the company are some of the most polite, professional contractors I've hired. They gave a very fair estimate, and even put me on a waiting list so I could get the job done sooner than the scheduled start date. The quality of the work really shows. The floors look fantastic. I couldn't ask for a better experience. Definitely a company to check out!

I contacted Cox when I believed my floor installer had left me high and dry. They were very helpful in working out a date to look at the job and a date to do the job if I accepted their quote. At the last minute, my original contractor got his act together and because of our past relationship, I allowed him to complete the floor job. In spite of Cox not getting to do the job, I appreciate the attention I was given and their understanding of my situation and my urgency in solving a problem. The next time we do a floor, they will be my FIRST call.

We thought the price was very fair and Mark and Teresa are very easy to deal with. They showed up exactly when they said they would and work was completed on the day they estimated. We had some unknown damage to the floor that they had to deal with and they discussed options on how to best resolve. We thought their work was A+ and we plan to have them back in the summer to do some additional bedrooms.

Decided to refurbish a small breakfast nook room in our 100 year old house as a surprise for my wife who was out of town. I stripped wallpaper, repainted, repaired windows, and replaced lighting. As I was about to move furniture back, I realized the really bad condition of the hardwood floor. I got two referrals from a trusted source and called both floor re finishers. I was warned that it was a small job and that I might have trouble getting someone to do the job on short notice and at a reasonable price.I called on a Wednesday and both came and gave me estimates. I talked to Teresa Eads and explained my situation. She was very understanding. She and Mark came on the next Saturday morning and gave me a written estimate. I called on Sunday and accepted their estimate. Mark worked late to finish a bigger job and arrived on next Thursday morning. They covered doorways with plastic to minimize dust and protect french doors. He repaired the plywood patch with fresh hardwood, stained it to match, sanded floor, and applied first coat of satin finish polyurethane. On Friday morning they returned, lightly sanded and cleaned floor, puttied nail holes, and applied second coat of poly. They removed plastic, vacuumed, and were careful of my home. At the conclusion of job they gave me a bill which included a discount for being an Angie's List member. I paid them happily. By Friday mid-afternoon the poly had soaked into the older wood and was dry to the touch. I could see areas where the poly had soaked into the wood and the wood grain was "exposed." The floor felt dry but not smooth. Friday mid-afternoon I called and left a message that the floor needed a third coat of poly, for which I would be willing to pay. Mark called me back that evening. When I tried to explain that I thought the floor would really benefit from a third coat of poly and that I would like them to come back, Mark told me (without seeing it) that it didn't need another coat but that they could come back and sand and re-coat the high traffic area in 6-to-12 months. On that note we parted. The next day I went to the hardware store, bought a quart of satin finish oil base poly (I suspect they used a water base poly), lightly sanded, cleaned, and applied a third coat of poly with a good quality brush. It dried in less than a day and I now have a smooth satin finish hardwood floor with a rich honey color that looks and feels terrific. I really appreciated their quick initial response, the prep work, the cleanup, and their friendliness and will consider using them in the future. It was pretty clear that they "squeezed me in" to help me out. Next time, I won't wait til the last minute.

This is a small firm and we had to wait about a month to get the work scheduled, but since we weren't in a hurry it was fine. They showed up every day when they said they were going to and were pleasant and efficient during their time here.

Very professional. When I called for the estimate, the contact person was delightful, she answered all my questions and made suggestions. She was very helpful. Mr. Eads was on time for the estimate. I liked that the same person who did the quote also did the work. He was able to quote me the price right then. When he came to do the job he and his crew were right on time and they did a beautiful job. You could tell they took pride in their work. The job didn't take as long as I thought it would. My floors are simply beautiful. I couldn't be more pleased.
