They came in and sanded and refinished the hardwoods floors. Stains were removed from the floors and they look great! I would use them again anytime. Also, great price.

My floors look great and I recommend Cox who needs their floor refinished. My house was built in 1929 and all rooms but one have the original flooring. Mark came out, quoted the job and was very competitive on price. I worked with Theresa to schedule the work and she did an excellent job staying in touch and answering any questions I had. Mark and others arrived on time and explained what they were going to do each day and how long it would take. They sealed off the few rooms that did not have hardwoods and were very careful moving their equipment into the house. After they finished sanding everything, they stained a small area to show me what the floors would look like and verified I liked the stain chosen. They did a beautiful job on the floors and cleaned up everything before leaving. My floors look brand new and I'm very happy with the work performed. They were all friendly and professional and I would definitely use this company again.

Very prompt responses from initial contact through project completion. Can't tell where new/old floor begin/end. Took great care to tape off all cabinets and rooms - even the upstairs to keep down on the dust. Had very little cleaning to do once they left. Floors look beautiful. Highly recommend!

Mark Eads and his wife are solid, kind and skillful people who continue to make this business work very well. Our experience, from the estimate that Mark promptly provided, to the final cleanup and restoration was excellent. They were very careful in analyzing our existing floor, counseling us on finishes, and putting together a plan. Their price was much better than the other estimates we had obtained. With his great crew, Mark carefully protected our existing living space from the horrendous dust that this type of project generates, did great work with careful detailed nailing of the 3/4 inch flooring in amazing time, and then sanded and finished our floors to a great result. This is a difficult project to do in an existing home, and they orchestrated it very well. I value being able to find people and businesses like this who do such great work efficiently and with integrity at a reasonable price. I highly recommend them.

Great. Always called before coming to the house to work and were on time. All workers were polite, friendly and went right to work. My hardwood floors look beautiful.

Mark and his crew were very professional. The estimate was fair and the service provided was excellent. Mark always called ahead and let me know when they would be arriving. The job was completed in a timely fashion and the suggestions that Mark made were helpful. Dust from the sanding was contained well. The crew even helped move a player piano from the living room to a hallway, which was above and beyond their job description. We will have the Cox Hardwood Flooring Co. back when it is time to have more floors refinished.

I was extremely pleased with the way my floors turned out. The previous owner tongue and grooved 1000 sq.ft. of reclaimed barn wood on the floors of our home. To seal the floors he used an oil that did not dry properly and were tacky a month later. Mr. Cox noted the problem and buffed and waxed all the floors in the kitchen, dining room, living room and hallways and they are now beautiful. I liked that Mr. Cox only has a few employees and is at the job site doing the work himself. He takes pride in his work and it shows. I was very pleased with him and the service provided.

We were able to get a quote for the work very promptly. We were pleased with the price we were quoted, and we were also impressed by Mark's professionalism. Even though it was just one room that we needed to have done, he didn't treat the job as "too small" (a problem we've had with other contractors in the past). Our experience with Cox's Hardwood Flooring was absolutely outstanding. We were initially told that floor installation would take about 2 days.....but it only took one day. I can tell you that we were very impressed with how quickly and efficiently these three men worked to get the job done. They got there on time, worked hard all day (didn't even break for lunch), and were able to complete the job in 1 day. The floors look absolutely beautiful. We would definitely recommend Cox's Hardwood Flooring to our family and friends and will contact them for our next flooring project.

We started using Arvel Cox's services years ago. This is the third time we have used Cox. We were pleased with the quality of the work when Mr. Cox ran the business.. When an individual business owner passes away the successors often fail to maintain the same quality and standards. This definitely did not happen with Mr. Cox's passing, and I am pleased that Cox Hardwood Flooring continues to provide quality floor refinishing at a reasonable price. They were prompt and efficient.

I received a good rating from Angie's list for this company so I contacted them for an estimate. I received a prompt reply and estimate. They told me when they could complete the work and we got on their calendar. They called the day before to tell us exactly what time they would be there. They showed up on time and got the work done.

We contacted Cox Hardwood Flooring in November, 2012 to get an estimate to remove carpet and install hardwood flooring in family room. Teresa contacted me promptly and Mark came out that week to give us an estimate which we received the next day via email. We ordered the hardwood ourselves so Mark and his crew did just the installation. They were prompt, professional and a pleasure to work with. Our new floor looks fantastic!

Services were performed in the time frame estimated and done professionally. No complaints. I would use again. The business is owned and the services performed by the owner and two assistants. It took awhile to schedule the date services were to be performed, but I think that is a favorable testimony to the company's backlog of work.

Mark and Teresa arrived on time to take measurements and provide an estimate. They were very knowledgeable, explained the whole process and answered all our questions. Teresa kept us updated on the scheduling and arrived as scheduled to oversee the delivery of the wood. Mark and his crew arrived punctually every day. They were very friendly and efficient and carefully sealed off other areas of the house to contain the sawing and sanding dust. The job was finished a day earlier than expected and our new floors are beautiful!

Cox Hardwood installed several rooms of hardwoods a couple weeks ago and we also hired them to come back later to refinish other hardwoods in the house. We had to schedule the process in two steps since we were doing other home renovation.Their estimate was fair and thorough. Just like when they did our hardwood installation, Mark, his son and another worker came as planned at 7:30 am. They carefully sealed off the rooms they were sanding and got to work. They had the floors sanded, everything vacuumed and a first coat of varnish on by the end of the day. They came back early the next morning to buff the floor and add a second coat. I have to say I was impressed how little of the dust from the sanding migrated to the rest of the house. The floors are beautiful. Before they refinished them they were faded and scratched. They had lost the beautiful color variation that red oak has. It is like having brand new floors. I would definitely recommend Cox Hardwood to anyone for either floor installation or refinishing. They are courteous and prompt. Their work is professional and I am truly amazed at the change in my floor!

Our home is 40 years old and still had the original oak hardwood floors that needed some major maintenance. We contacted Cox and he came and provided us not only an estimate, but a plan to do all our floors basically one room at a time. This way we would not have to empty all the rooms at one time (a task that would be impossible). We began with the master bedroom and his team of 3 men arrived on time the day appointed, completed the sanding, cleaning, and prep work and the first coat of poly to the floor. This done within a couple of hours. The next day they came and prep the floor for its second coat of poly and completed the task within an hour and 15 minutes. The floors never have looked so beautiful since they were first installed. The crew was very tidy, cleaned up everything, and very polite. We plan on using them again in a few months to do some more work on our overall plan. One last note, he seems to be busy (probably because of his reputation and excellent quality of work) so you might have to schedule things a few weeks in advance. So plan accordingly.

The floors look great; it's hard to believe they are the same rooms. Mark and his crew showed up punctually (though they do like to start very early), worked efficiently, and got the floors into shape quickly. We are quite pleased with the results.

I used Cox Flooring maybe 9 or 10 years ago when Arvil Cox was the owner and have been happy with the work ever since. This time, I picked the three top-rated floor finishers on Angie?s List, including Cox, and obtained estimates. Each finisher had their own take on what the floors could withstand and how they would be refinished. I had already received one un-impressive estimate where I felt the finisher simply wasn't?t interested in a job as involved as ours, so I discussed the other quote with Mark and he basically confirmed my thoughts. I was impressed with Mark and Theresa and after getting my third quote, which was outside my budget, I scheduled the work. Theresa called a day or two before the work was to begin to confirm the days and let me know that Mark would be at the house as close to 7:30 am as possible. Mark and his crew (4 total) were exactly on time each of the three days they were at the house. We are not yet living there, so I came by at lunch to check out the work and again in the evenings. Mark and his crew and tidy and thorough. One of his employees was hand setting and filling the hundreds of nails in our floors and Mark would stop working long enough to answer my questions and show me what was being done. The final product is just stunning. The floors look quite new and the satin finish is really pretty. I am just so happy and have sung their praises to all of my friends and around the office!

We had used Cox Hardwood years ago when it was owned by Arvil Cox. Arvil has since retired and Marks Eads now owns the company. We contacted them and Mark and his son came out to do an estimate for laying about 1,000 feet of 3/4 inch oak floors. He promptly came out, walked and measured the rooms and said his wife Theresa would contact us the next day with and estimate. I had the email from Theresa the next morning and the felt the estimate was fair and complete. Since we had used the company before and they had received great review on Angie's List, I called them immediately to set up an appointment. They were booked several weeks out so we opted to wait until after the holidays to begin work. Mark said it would take two days. I contacted Theresa several times before they came to do the work with questions. She was patient and friendly and always got back to me quickly if she did not know the answer. They were to show up between 7:30 and 8am and at 7:35am, Mark, his son and another employee arrived. They got right to work and worked straight through lunch! They completed the largest and most difficult sections on the first day and returned the next day. They finished by noon, cleaned up, removed all the debris. The floors are beautiful. They did a very complicated long hallway, two bedrooms and a family room. They were neat, courteous and friendly. It was a pleasure to have them around and I would have them back. In fact, they are refinishing our oak floors in our living room, family room and entry in a couple weeks so I will probably be submitting another report! I would definitely recommend Mark and Cox Hardwood.

We were first given a wood flooring referral from a friend. After not receiving a call back in 2 days, we decide to explore Angie's List for a company. We decide to send an email to Cox Hardwood to inquire about costs. We received a call back within an hour of sending the email. We were given a rough estimate per sq ft. A on-site visit was setup for the next day. We were given an exact quote at the on-site visit. Given that we were moving into the house and need the work completed before Christmas, we were scheduled for the following week. The new floors turned out great. All the staff were very professional. Only issue we had was there was a math error on the written quote. This was fixed with an email and prompt response from office staff. We definitely plan to use this professional again for other areas of our home.

We had estimates from 5 floor finishers, that were obtained from Angie's List. All contractors were prompt, professional, and provided exacting details of the work they would perform. Based on Angie's list, bid costs, and recommendations from two friends we selected Cox flooring. Cox accurately estimated the time, materials, and cost. Cox arrived on time to start work and finished as promised. The flooring looks beautiful and we cannot tell the difference between the new dinning room floor and the flooring that is adjacent to it. The finish is great. Cox did a great job cleaning up and keep dust and debris, from the removal of the old floor finish, from entering the remainder of the house. We are 00% satisfied and had a positive experience.
