I have been visited twice by Jay Holm. Absolutely amazing so far. Quick response, great communication, and very knowledgable. He took plenty of time to look, discuss and get as much information as possible about my husband and I, our current concerns and upcoming projects and our home. He was not afraid to call in add'l experts for a second opinion. Have not received actual estimate yet, but I am confident it will come and am greatly looking forward to working more with Jay on making my home safer and more beautiful!

Job took about 3 months to get scheduled but went very smoothly once work began. The majority of the work was complete within 2 days. I appreciated the professionalism and punctuality of Jay and his team and the quality of the work they did. I will certainly use Jay for future work.

JD Holms was very professional and prompt when I initially requested an estimate. They came out fairly quickly. However, that was in September and I never received an estimate. I was told they were very busy, which is understandable. Yet, I feel like I was put to the back burner, which is unfortunate, as I had quite a lot of money ready to spend on projects. Initially I guess they were having some trouble getting the estimate to my email address. I gave them several other options, but never received anything or any response from my last message. Guess they decided my job wasn't worth their time.

Work wasn't performed. The contractor had too much work at this time to perform my work in a timely manner. I appreciated his honesty.

Jay and his team were tremendous. It's quite clear that they have experience doing a lot of high end projects. He was quite familiar with recent trends and styles. Jay had wonderful suggestions for material selections and design dimensions for our small kitchen remodel project. They even took care of a few other minor issues that they noticed (we had a lock and handle that didn't work, some non conforming electrical outlets, etc.). When my wife and I came home, it felt like walking into a brand new kitchen. They got a lot done in just three days on the job. I highly trust and recommend this team and I would definitely use them again.

Took out mold, carpet, lighting put in new carpet and lighting. He taste in design was excellent. He went and found the same room feature to add to the room. Three to four came to complete the work and it took abut a week. I look at the review and from that i used they a li'l high but it was worth it. Looking for carpet he said go to this company and he can order he could order in different city.

We could not begin our renovation because of a family health emergency.

Came out to the house, talked, took photos, never followed up. Perhaps I wasn't a big enough job for them, don't know.

Don't know how they got the rating they do because I left 3 voice mails throughout May 2014 and they never called me back. This is a major pet peeve of mine, at least have the professional courtesy to return the call even if you are busy or don't want the job. I would never recommend or use this company now.

I called him and he was out within the hour. He was very nice.

The team from J.D. Holm & Sons was punctual, friendly and great to work with. The walk-through during the quoting process was thorough, bringing up ideas and identifying potential challenges at that time with ideas on how to address them (things we hadn't even thought of). All work was performed on time and as requested. They worked around delays caused by other suppliers (not their suppliers; ones we had contracted with separately for materials). They also addressed questions and concerns promptly and truly strived to make sure we were happy every step of the way. The team showed up on time and on every day they said they would, protected the floors and other surfaces before beginning work each day and cleaned up each night. We will definitely use J.D. Holm & Sons again!

They gave a good estimate. They are timely and professional.

Workers arrived Dec 26 right at 8 AM and proceeded to remove bath tub and walls. The bathtub was cast iron and had to be broken up to remove it from the room. Removing plastic shower walls, revealed that there was no insulation in the outside walls. They added insulation and patched up any cracks. They installed new cement board and the shower basin plus the walls on the first day. On the second day the faucets and shower heads and all plumbing was hooked up. They also added a GFI outlet by the sink. They completed the job by adding tile above the shower walls and finished it off with safety bars. They were very professional and arrived at the job site when they said they would. They cleaned up after themselves each day and left no mess or trash at the house when they left. They were accommodating when anyone need to use the bathroom as it was the only bathroom in the house. Jay and crew were all easy to talk to and very hard workers.

It was great! Jay really guided us as to what we could do - his advice, helpfulness, courtesy, professionalism made the whole project fun for us! We were excited to come home and see what was done! He was very easy to talk to and responsive to our needs. We kept us informed of the plan and followed through to see that it was done. Very thorough - very nice people! We plan to call him again!

The quality of the work was top-notch. We couldn't be happier. He scheduled the jobs so that he could put all efforts to it and get it done as quickly as possible. There was no waiting around until a subcontractor could come in -- everyone involved was right there when needed. Jay suggested a lot of extras they could do for us at no discernible increase in price. His employees are all friendly, polite and professional. They cleaned up as they went. They get my highest marks.

These folks are consummate professionals. The work was beautifully done, they were on time every day and worked steadily and conscientiously. They all communicate clearly about what they are doing, and why they are doing things in a particular way. The renovation was not cheap, but we feel it was worth the expense to know that everything down to the last detail was done in the best way possible. I highly recommend them.

Three men arrived with Jay Holm 8/27/13 to wash siding. Jay discussed how siding would be cleaned with brushes to remove mold , long process with optimal results. It took the three men almost 4 hours to complete cleaning siding, it looks great. Jay returned 8/29 with three men & proceeded to apply silicone sealant to cracks in chimney cap & also applied mortar to 5 or 6 rows of bricks around chimney.

It turned out great. I really like Jay, he's very professional, very prompt, and he keeps you up to date about what's going on.

Never had work done due to his schedule with jobs.

JD Holm & Sons were timely, they were professional, and they were personable. However, we weren't in the same place as JD Holm & Sons from a price perspective.

He called once after I contacted him but didn't follow up afterwards

They were excellent. We were unable to proceed with the work we were going to hire them for. They came out and were just wonderful but my husband had just been diagnosed with cancer so we didn't go through with the remodel. I will probably in the future call them back. Jay, the owner came out and explained everything they needed to do. He sat with us for an hour and explained the costs, all the procedures, what would happen everyday, and he was very good. The quote was $16,000.

The J Holm group are true professionals. Always on time and complete your job with the highest standards out there. I can not recommend this company enough. If you want it done the right way from start to finish, call J Holm. We have used his services for many years and will continue to do so.

I suspect Jay is a good builder based on his questions and comments. I can't vouch for his work personally.

The crew is outstanding. I quickly became acquainted with them on a first name basis and felt comfortable with them in my home. Each member is professional, friendly and very competent. They are also friendly to and tolerant of pets! At the end of each work day they cleaned up their area spotlessly allowing me to still use my kitchen while renovating. They kept me informed of when they would be returning and when they were leaving. Jay touched base in person almost every day of the job, and updated me frequently in the evenings and weekends through e mail. He is an honest, down to earth, friendly and trustworthy individual who does high quality work and delivers a personal touch and interest to what he does. He was also very helpful in helping me acquire new appliances and oversaw the purchase and delivery, which I greatly appreciated. Jay has a keen eye for design and offered several suggestions which enhanced the finished product. The backsplash is the last step to be done. I am anxious to post pre- and post pictures to the sight to share their great work. I will definitely call on them again in the future.
