Description of Work: I have a service contract with Service Experts. I feel it is worthwhile financially as they service the furnace, whole house air filter, whole house humidifier, and air conditioner and I pay a set fee monthly. This covers their twice a year maintenance (each component is checked annually) and I only have to pay for any parts that may need replaced. They are courteous, prompt, and professional. They have done work with me for at least 10 years.

Salesman was very educational on our heating/AC unit we were purchasing. Felt the most comfortable with this company and the result we got exceeded my expectations.

Description of Work: Service Experts installed a new heating and A/C system in our house. From the bid to the installation to follow up, they did an exceptional job. One of the installers slipped on a joist in the attic and punched a hole in the living room ceiling. An estimator was out before the afternoon was over to check the damage and the repair was made at no cost, no hassle and at our convenience. Overall, a great experience.

Description of Work: Heat exchanger in furnace failed, they advertised 24 hour service but when I called the technician said he wouldn't have parts so it wouldn't be worth our time and money to have him come out. The next day he reported that a new furnace was needed. He said he would have space heaters brought out and a salesman would come in the evening. No space heaters came and the salesman was an hour late (8:00) and still there were no space heaters. If we had known this would be the case we would have bought our own heaters to keep our four young kids warm. The house temp was about 50 degrees and dropping (outside it was less than 10 degrees at night). He talked for over an hour as we shivered and listened to him explaining the mechanics of different types of furnaces and all we wanted was a quote. It was an obvious pitch to sell us as much furnace as possible and I resented the attempt to take advantage of us in our vulnerable situation. The cost of the Lenox furnaces were very high (much higher than the Carrier furnace we purchased 5 years earlier in our previous home). Due to the prices we had to opt for an contractor grade furnace and AC unit. The salesman called someone to bring space heaters and a guy came at 9:00 PM with 3 very small plastic space heaters that he had stopped and picked up at Walmart. The furnace was installed by late the next day but the filter wasn't replaced and the humidifier was not checked and it wasn't working. Another phone call and a day later someone came took care of those things. Since the spring thaw I've noticed that the AC unit is not sitting level on its pad. I'll have to call and see if they will fix it. The furnace works, but we paid a lot for a mediocre system and a poor customer service experience.

Description of Work: The igniter failed on my furnace so I called these guys thinking I would try someone different. They promised to come between 11:00 and 1:00. They tried to call me around 9:00 to see if the tech could come early but I missed the call. I called back about 15-20 minutes later and they said the tech had gone to another appointment and would still come to my house between 11:00 and 1:00. "No problem," I thought. One o'clock. No tech. Two o'clock, no tech. Three o'clock, no tech. Of course, by now I have called them and been assured the guy is on his way. I told them I have to leave at 4:00. Finally at 3:45 he show up. I met him at the door and told him the igniter needs to be replaced, can he do it in 15 minutes because I have to leave. He said yes, and he did get it done that quickly. They charged me $216 for an igniter that I now find I can buy from Pex Supply for less than $40.00. The total bill was $290 with a $47.00 "discount." I feel like I got the shaft on this deal and I will never call them again!

Description of Work: We have had lots of work done by Service Experts and even Rolfs before it was Service Experts. We have a yearly contract from them each year to keep our heat, air, plumbing and generator serviced year around. We pay around 300 per year for this service. They are prompt, courteous, clean, we trust them with our whole house.

Description of Work: The service tech made sure I understood exactly what was going on. Everyone from the local office was very nice and helpful. The person we spoke to on the phone about financing the new furnace was not so nice and helpful. She just said we did not qualify for that one type of financing and that was it didn't see if we could fir anything else. Overall the work was great they took care of everything promptly and in less time than they told us

Description of Work: Our A/C went out during the hottest week of the month (of course) called them on a Sunday late afternoon, in about an hour they had a service person at our house. 2 hours later they had the problem found and fixed so it would work until Monday. On Monday they sent two people to double check the problem, showed me the problem with our A/C but also found another problem with the furnace. They showed me through a camera the crack in the heat exchanger and also showed me the freon problem with the A/C. The units were installed when we built the house and were over 13 years old. They sent a salesmen out that night and quoted both new units and the costs of fixing the old units. The salesmen measured the house sized the units and gave us a quote. We purchased the units on Tuesday and they completely had the new units installed on Wednesday. The installers were EXCELLENT cleaned up after themselves on time and very nice. We have been a customer with them for over 15 years, we were set up on a maintenance contract so the service call on Sunday was no extra charge, and we got a discount on the purchase of a new A/C and furnace plus a refund of the service call on Sunday and they never charged us on Monday for the double check. Excellent people do work with servicemen, salesmen and installers quality people.
