Description of Work: • I moved into a home with 2 fireplaces, 1 chimney |• I wanted chimney cleaned and shown how to use gas fireplace |• Said my gas fireplace didn't work correctly (later found out it was just clogged with dirt) |• Tried to sell me overpriced gas logs without even trying to clean old one. |• Dusty Brothers said I didn't need a chimney cleaning and would only charge me for an inspection. | |I feel I overpaid for the time they were here (about 15 minutes) and disappointed that they didn't try and fix my current gas logs.

Description of Work: Estimate only. They did a drive by down the street and viewed the chimney from the road. A few days later we received an estimate in the mail. Since we were not impressed by the way the estimate was given we chose another company.

+ -1 moreThey got up on my roof in bone chilling weather and cleared my dryer vent line, as well as installing a new vent on the roof that was wider and allowed for easier access. It was freezing out and I really needed someone to do it for me. In the future I will recommend them to friends with chimneys and circumstances such as mine, but I will purchase my own kit to keep it clean from here on out, before it gets too cold. They came out quickly and had everything they needed in the truck.
Description of Work: My dryer vent was clogged, they unclogged it and replaced a vent.

+ -1 moreLast winter I called 3 different chimney companies out to my home because of the cold air coming in my home. This company was the least expensive with a senior citizen discount. They came out within 2 days of my call. There were 2 men doing an inspection of my fireplace and chimney, one was the owner of the company. They found my old cap was rusted and a few areas that needed tuckpointed. They took pictures of the rusted cap and showed them to my husband. They installed a damper cap and tuckpointed the bad areas. They didn't charge me extra for the tuckpointing, just the damper cap. The owner worked with my husband and I due to the fact we are on a fixed income.

+ 0 moreThe installation of the damper went fine, but it didn't solve the problem. When they caulked around the chimney, they caulked with a silicone caulk that wouldn't hold paint, so several months later I had to have painters re-caulk the same area with different caulk over the top of theirs so it would hold paint.
Description of Work: I called them to inspect my chimney and see if they could figure a way to stop some leaking (which at that point was minor) and the entry of cold air through the chimney. They recommended a damper cap system to replace my other chimney cap and damper. That was $425.00 and it didn't stop leaking and my room was still freezing from the outside air coming down the chimney. They also caulked around the chimney outside to try and stop the leaking at a later date, for $89.00. That didn't stop the leaking either. Somehow he didn't see the crown was cracked and the brick and mortar was cracked at the corbel. (These were found later by another chimney sweep).
