The movers arrived a half hour after they were supposed to (830, instead of 8am). They immediately told me that whomever had quoted us 4.5 hours was WAY wrong, and gave me an on-site revised quote of 7 hours - making sure to tell me they didn't believe it would go that long. The only thing they could give as reason is "you have more boxes than we expected". While I will grant them that we had more boxes than were quoted, it was only an additional 10 boxes (70, instead of 60). I can understand a little longer to move the extra 10 boxes, but 3 hours? Throughout the process the movers became slower and slower. Eventually they announced that they were not going to be able to fit everything in the truck and we would have to leave items behind and make two trips. This did not sit well with us, but we reluctantly agreed. We were told repeatedly that unloading takes a LOT less time. Not so. Unloading took longer than loading. at two hours into unloading they were "about halfway done". At the 10 hour mark they were finally ready to go back and get the rest of the items. For the sake of expediency, my wife and I had to help them load and unload the truck on the second trip (completely negating the whole reason for having movers in the first place!). The entire move took 12 hours. 12 long, stressful, cold, miserable, hours. I don't know about you but... when I'm paying by the hour, and am quoted 4.5 hours, I start to feel as though I'm being hustled when it ends up taking 12 hours. Additional complaints / observations: The "movers" mentioned several times how moving is not their normal jobs - they just do it on the weekends. They refused to park their truck in our driveway at the new house, instead parking in the street to increase the distance they had to move items. And to top it all off - they broke several items and one of them used the bathroom without asking, clogged the toilet, then didn't tell us about it (we found it later). Attempts to contact the company regarding these issues met with limited success. We were able to talk to what I can only assume to be a shift manager. Initially he said he could not do anything for refunds. I asked to speak with the general manager or the owner (either one), and was told they would call me. The general manager AND the owner were "too busy" to talk to measly customers like me, though, and had the shift manager offer me a $300 refund. The lack of real customer service, the fact that the owner and general manager declined to speak to me, and the events that transpired have all served to make me never, EVER, want to do business with this company again. I honestly cannot in good conscience recommend anybody else do so either.
Description of Work: We hired Two Men and a Truck to move our approx. 1300 sqft house to a new, larger, house 15 minutes away. Our house was pre-packed in boxes and move-out ready. We were quoted 4.5 hours for the entire move.

Overall the move went well. The movers showed up on time. They moved all our stuff. The only thing that was annoying was that they didn't fit all my stuff on the truck. At the end I had to make decisions about what Items I could disassemble and fit in my car and what items I really had to have on the truck. I think they could have fit everything if they had planned accordingly, either that or they estimated the size of the truck poorly. Other than that all went well.
Description of Work: Movers came to move our furniture and bulky items. We had already moved anything that would fit in our car.

All went well- as above. You need to get unused boxes credited at the completion of the move . That was an oversite by me and the movers - I don't think - knew how to handle the credit. But it is easy. I just had to call the office , but that went well - just an oversite and extra hassel.
Description of Work: This was an involved move to and from 3 locations. First dinning room furniture was moved from the Eastside to Avon. From Avon a pick up of Apartment Furniture was made in Greenwood and delivered to storage and to a new Eastside residence. The mover did an excellent job of protecting furniture and worked fast and efficiently. With all the travel The Movers only missed their time estimate by 30 minutes. We had packed prior to move and this saved time & money. TM&AT also supplied boxes and will deliver free of charge if you use more than $50.00 worth of boxes and use their moving service. A nice touch and time saver.

Highly dissatisfied with service. We used them to move heavy furniture only (~ 10 items) and they snapped one of our headboards in half. A damage report was written up and I was told I would be contacted. I have called them twice now and can not get anyone to respond to the damage report. The movers worked too quickly, which I feel was the cause of the broken furniture. Also, one of the movers stacked all of our couch cushions up and jumped on top of them, which was extremely unprofessional. We will need movers again in about 4 months to move into our brand new house and we will NOT be using them again.

We are self employed ourselves and have been for over 20 years. If there are damages, we take care of it. If it wasn't for our customers, we wouldn't have jobs. We treat our customers with the utmost respect. They pay our salaries. After I'm finished letting everyone of our customers, family, friends and people we know about Two Men and a Truck and their business practices, hopefully they wont have jobs. They dont deserve to be in business if they continue to treat their customers this way. Im not opposed to applying signage to every vehicle I own and our company owns (which is many by the way) stating how Two Men and a Truck treat their customers (elderly or otherwise). In the penalty box until they return my fathers 2 flat screen TV's. Now Im on to the Better Business Bureau !
Description of Work: My father (without my knowledge) decided to move. He is 83 years old. He called Two Men and a Truck to move him. They packed everything and were on their way (with my father following) to his old home. Once they got there, eligidly my father said he didnt know who these people are and said that the things in the truck were not his and then took off in his car. I recieved a phone call from Two Men and a Truck and they told me this information. Then another person from Two Men and a Truck called and wanted me to meet them at their office to verify that the belongings wer his. I did that. Once we figured out what to do with my father, we called Two Men and a Truck to deliver his belongings. The same two men that packed his belongings returned the second time to deliver. Once the move was over, I (we) noticed that 2 (TWO) flat screen TV's were missing. They stated that the paperwork only said that there were 2 TV's on the moving list. Wrong. My father has (had) a total of 4 TV's. Sure, he might have said he only had 2, only 2 that he watched. Remember, he is 83 years old. How convienent for Two Men and a Truck that he originally said 2 TV's. Also, His belongings were in THEIR truck for over 36 hours. How do we know what happened within those 36 hours????? And how do we know where that truck went from the new home to their office????? Now my father has a bit of dementia in his old age but he does remember one of the men struggling to remove one of the flat screens from the wall. And I know for a fact that he DOES has (or did have) 2 flat screens. One was on the wall in the kitchen (holes are still there) and the other was atop his dresser in his bedroom. (the cable wire in the bedroom was still attached to the wall) He does have proof that he owned these TV's. Im curious to know if Two Men and a Truck do background checks and drug screening on their employees. They dont seem too interested in resolving this issue. All we want are the 2 TV's back - and promptly. They need to check with these two employees on who they gave the TV's to for Christmas and demand that they bring them back and relieve them from their jobs.

I have used this company for moves before and have always been satisfied. The move itself went okay until they got to my storage facility in Greenfield. They drove the truck inside but on the way out they hit a light knocking it down and did damage to the facility's garage door. I got a "customer satisfaction" call and told them I was not happy about the damage to my facility. The representative said "Ann" would get back to me. She never did. I then wrote a letter requesting to be reimbursed for the light and electrician's time, a total of $185.47. No one responded to the letter. Every time I call I am told I need to talk to Ann but she is never available and will not return my call. If they are not going to pay for the light they damaged at least they could tell me so!

They dinged the walls on the stairs as they were moving out. They took SO LONG with the first house, and packed the truck so inefficiently, that they had to go Carmel, unload part of the truck, and then start over going back down to Broad Ripple, filling more, and heading back up to Carmel. They were running so far behind, and doing such a slow and poor job that three other trucks' worth of workers (we had 12 people working with our furniture) came to help our team unload. Several of the people who came were professional and quick, but a few of them were absolute JERKS clearly not happy to be there, which stressed us out about how they were going to treat our things. Then, they put our bed back together in such a way that the legs on the cross-bar supports underneath are bending and when we moved the mattress and box spring to do a cleaning in the bedroom in ~ December/January, the base collapsed because of the bending. That's when we realized that they'd not even put the furniture back together -- they'd just laid the box spring on top of the supports, but not actually connected the supports to the frame. THEN, while we had asked them to not put together one bedroom's furniture because we were going to paint, etc., they didn't keep the bolts and other pieces to put it back together with the furniture - so we couldn't put it back together at all. At that point, we called Tim Callahan, General Manager. After several unreturned phone calls (thanks to their glorious failure of a receptionist, who apparently never puts messages through to her people), we got an appointment with Mr. Callahan. My fiancee AND I took time off work to be there to walk through the damaged items. At 3:45pm on the date of that appointment we got a call saying Tim wouldn't be able to make it. (OUR APPOINTMENT WAS AT 3PM). When we called back to reschedule, it took longer to get a new date, and then he was late to the appointment (although at least this time he called). Then, he tried to pass the bent legs on our bed off as a flaw in the manufacturer of the furniture rather than their incompetence in putting it back together. And he couldn't believe us when we told him we didn't have any of the hardware to put our other furniture back together. I think the crowning glory was the fact that after a month of no contact, he sends my Fiancee and I a "forwarded" email (manufactured to look like he'd sent us one email that we'd not responded to, not knowing I'm an engineer and can tell the difference) saying he'd had trouble locating parts and could we get them instead. Things have STILL not been repaired (it's May, we moved in Oct). Do not hire.
Description of Work: Hired company to move furniture and boxes from two separate homes to one (different) house. Distances were between Broad Ripple (~56th) and Carmel, and NW Side (Eagle Creek/Pike) and Carmel. One house was a full move (~2100 sq ft), the other house was some bedroom furniture and a dining table. They were to start at Pike, fill the truck ~ 75% full (their estimate), head to Broad Ripple, and then up to Carmel. We'd already moved ~ 150 boxes ourselves prior to, and had had 4 estimates before settling with Two Men. When they said it could be done with one truck and three guys, we were skeptical, but were reassured that it would go OK. The guys arrived on time, which was promising. That was the last thing that went well.

They were very quick and nice. The two men that showed up were very fast. They did scratch the walls a little. I can't complain because the price was so low and you get what you pay for. If you are looking to find the least expensive mover and are not so concerned with quality this is your company. They might be a good option when moving home your college student.

When we called, we were given an estimate that was around $650 and about 8 hours. The 2 movers arrived within 15 minutes of when we were told they would. The 2 guys worked throughout the day except for breaks throughout that seemed reasonable. One of the movers was somewhat surly with his partner but not with us; he did however help himself to our soda without asking even though we had water on hand for them. The job ended up taking closer to 11 hours and we were charged an additional $250 as a result. The real frustrating thing was discovering over the next month a lot of little things they had lost such as nuts and bolts to things but did not tell us. They rushed through the job, especially at the end, and appeared to want to just get our things out of their truck. They also removed a door to our laundry room and didn't bother to put it back on its hinges and lost the parts for us to put it back in place.

The estimate for packing and moving was below the actual amount we owed because the workmen did not finish during the time they said they would for both packing and moving. We had to pay for the extra hours. In the end, they did not move everything in the house because they ran out of time. They did not offer to come back and get the things they left behind. The biggest concern is that our narcotic prescription medications were missing when we unpacked the next day. I would not recommend 2 Men and a Truck.

I was provided an arrival time of 8-9 am, they showed up at 9:15 am. Contract was for $10 per hour higher than quoted when I hired them and they refused to honor the quote. Contacted location about the higher rate and they refused to lower it with the excuse that they fired the girl who quoted customers. I find this unacceptable but was in a bind since I had to be out of my house that day. Three men showed up and were very polite and easy to work with and loaded up the truck quickly. I had two storage units to move that day as well. It turns out the biggest truck they own is 26' and was not big enough to move what I had in my home (less the storage unit which was in my home before I put it on the market). So i had to scramble to get the rest of my house moved on my own and move the storage units another day on my own. I would not recommend this company unless you have a home smaller than 1600 sq ft or an apartment, they are unable to do it in one session. They do not honor their quotes, so be prepared to pay what they want the day they show up regardless of what you've been told. I tipped the movers $120 as they were outstanding at their job and worked very hard to get us all arranged in our new home.

It was OK. They prepared doorways with pads and wrapped all furniture with plastic to prevent damage. We noted very little damage, nothing to report which is good in my opinion. Three guys came, the head guy and two helpers, the one helper was complaining from the start that he had worked all week and was dead. He wasn't much help. I noticed him disappearing quite a bit and there were a few periods where not much was getting moved. They did get everything on the truck and transported to new home where shortly two more guys showed up to help. That went very well. All were very nice and worked hard at that point. My main issue was with the guy in charge. He was very nice up until the point we paid. I wanted to tip the guys and he hassled me for wanting to charge the tip. He insisted that they were always tipped in cash and that he would follow me to an ATM. Maybe I should have thought ahead better, but I charged the tip and that led him to make all kinds of comments to his co-workers about how "they would have to wait two weeks for their tip" and it "wouldn't be worth anything after taxes", etc. Very unprofessional and took me by surprise since he was such a nice guy up to that point. He didn't even thank me for the work. The one worker was a nice Hispanic guy. He was the only one that came in and shook both my wife and my hand for using them.

The company had moved us from our other home to this one in the past but could not take a large dresser up when they did the original move as they said we would have to remove the handrail of the stairway and they would need more men. We have waited until we were ready to do some painting and some other repairs near stairs and finally we removed the railing and called them back to move the dresser. The company was called and all this explained. The company then sent men out to do the job and arrived with not enough men. They said they would have to come back the next day with additional men. They proceeded to move a dryer which no longer worked out of basement and of the house. They returned the next day with more crew and moved the dresser upstairs. They proceeded to charge us additional for the second trip even though it was explained to the scheduler initially that this was a large job and what had happened in the past. 144 hours after the move I noticed an indentation in our wood floors at the top of the stairs along with a scuff that was deep and would have to have resulted from movement of a large object. The crew did not report this at the time of the job nor did it get noticed. It would have to be noticed in just the right light and while one is standing on the stairs. My husband called the company and they said they could not do anything about it since it had been more than 96 hours! We expected at least a minimal amount reimbursed to allow for steaming out the wood when we refinish the floors. But no. We had not reported the hole in the back of the cabinet which they had placed there when they had taken the cabinet down the stairs at our other home! We thought we had to make a report. Beware.
Description of Work: This company was asked to move a large dresser from our first floor to the second floor of our home. They were unable to do so the day they came out as they said they did not have enough men. They proceeded to move a dryer which no longer worked out of our basement and of the house. They returned the next day with more crew and moved the dresser upstairs.
