Senior Life Transitions is amazing! I can't recommend them highly enough! Both times they move my dad, they were compassionate, efficient, respectful and provided their services at a very reasonable price. They obviously love what they do and go out of their way to make transitioning to assisted living as comfortable as possible. They took pictures of my dad's assisted living room in Indy, and made sure to arrange everything exactly as it was in his new home in Bloomington. They even arranged the framed pictures exactly as they were on the dresser! It warms my heart just thinking about these people! If you need to move your loved one, I highly recommend you select Senior Life Transitions.

My elderly mother sold her condo and moved to an apartment. The senior apartment complex she moved into recommended Senior Life Transitions for moving services. Mom contacted them and Jan came out to do an estimate. At that time, Mom still had most of her furnishings, she still needed to get rid of things, so it was hard to know for sure what was going to be moved. Jan made an estimate based on what Mom told her at that meeting. The estimate included packing up all items, moving everything, and unpacking. There was no charge for packing materials because they were going to unpack Mom's things and put them away for her. They use large plastic creates, some cardboard boxes, and packing materials. There was a move charge and hourly charge for the crew. When moving day came, Jan, Shawn, and the crew were there on time, 8:30 AM. They immediately began working. After surveying what was to be moved, Jan informed us there was more to move than she had anticipated based on what Mom indicated at their first meeting. We knew this to be true so there was no surprise we might go over the estimate price for the move. Jan said we did not need to stay and that she would keep us informed how things were going and when to meet us at Mom's apartment. Between 12:00 and 1:00 PM we got a call they were ready to leave for the apartment. Jan voiced concern at that time about going over budget if they stayed to unpack. We said to unpack their plastic crates and we would unpack the cardboard boxes. Everything was moved into the apartment and storage area and the plastic crates unloaded by about 3:30. Since we had indicated we would unpack the cardboard boxes, Jan had to add their cost to the already over estimate bill. Jan didn't want to have to add the packing materials to the bill. She said they had a moving job two days after this move that would put them near Mom's apartment. If we could have the boxes unpacked, Shawn would stop by Mom's and pick up all the boxes and packing materials so we would not be charged. We thought this a great idea and that is what we did. The day after the move, we went to Mom's condo to clean up anything left after the move. The crew did a great job of leaving the place clear of debris and odds-and-ends. We didn't have to do any clean up at all. We found the experience to be a good one. Jan and Shawn are very kind and compassionate people. They conducted the move in an efficient and professional manner. All members of the crew were hard workers and courteous. This was a very emotional move for Mom. Senior Life Transitions' handling of the move made it as low stress as it could be.

Jan and Sean Tienhaara were always prompt, considerate, and polite, from our first meeting through all the stages listed above. Their packing/moving crew, including some of their own family, were always pleasant and helpful. All of them worked very hard to give us a smooth move.

I would recommend them. They were the best moving company that I had ever used. I would use them again in the future if need be.

I called them in a semi-emergency because the others I hired dropped out. She set it up in ten minutes. The workers were lovely and friendly. They made sure we were happy with the set-up. It was a day they apparently weren't supposed to work. I'd definitely call them again. They were professional and young. They shook hands with everyone in the room and were pleasant during the whole job.

We were moving my Mother from Clarebridge of Carmel to Sunrise on Old Meridian. Since we had moved my parents several times in the past 18 months, we contacted Senior Life Transitions through recommendation of move in coordinator at Sunrise Senior Living. My sister in Dallas, TX contacted Jan Tienhaara who was extremely helpful and compassionate. The date was set and a few days later, they came out to Clarebridge to give us an estimate. They arrived at Clarebridge on July 14th at 8am as planned and by lunchtime, Mom was in the new facility, unpacked and pictures were re-hung on the wall by Sean Tienhaara well before lunchtime! They were very respectful of my Mom's things and facility walls, etc. They even returned a bedside stand to Clarebridge that I had not excluded from the move in error. This is the way to move your loved one so that you can concentrate on helping them with their own adjustment to their new environment! Family run business with great personalized customer service!

It was the most wonderful thing I have ever seen. They took care of everything, and I didn't have to lift a finger during the entire project.

I needed them to move a large elliptical machine from one house to another. It was bulky and awkward. The guys were so nice and friendly. I would definitely use them again. It took longer than expected, but they were careful and didn't want to do damage to walls so I appreciated them taking their time.

They did all of the packing for us. They came in and talked to us with our relative. They were very easy to keep in touch with. They did an excellent job communication everything with us. They had everything ready when the movers came. They separated the belongings because some of the stuff was going to a storage unit and some of it was going to the nursing home. They drew up a plan of where everything was going once delivered to the nursing home. They hung up all of the art and mirrors and put all of the furniture in place.

They were just excellent, we would use them again in a minute if we needed to. They had excellent attitudes. They were very polite. They were careful with all of our belongings and it all arrived safely. They were very professional and had a very fair price. They did a great job staying in touch with us both by phone and email.

It was a complete pleasure working with Mr. and Mrs. Tienhaara, who own Senior Life Transitions. They were patient, professional, and worked very closely with us to coordinate the difficult move of my grandmother from her longtime home, to a more suitable living arrangement in an assisted living community. Mr. Tienhaara personally helped organize all my grandmother's belongings, packed them delicately and labeled all items accordingly. He even went as far to help move some of my grandmother's large art, and re-hung it in her new space. He has a keen eye for consolidating the most important items, and understands how delicate these transitions can be for seniors, so he is very patient. Mrs. Tienharra was a delight, and her caring presence during the move made it all the more enjoyable for myself and my grandmother. I would highly recommend Mr. Tienhaara and his crew at Senior Life Transitions, they offer prompt, affordable service, and their professionalism and one-on-one attention is exemplary.
