I heard, for the first time since we had the fence installed, the beeping sound that warns of some kind of break in our invisible fence system. I went to our garage to check it out and sure enough, the red light was blinking and the warning was sounding. I called Invisible Fence right away (it was a Thursday later afternoon) to see what needed to be done. The woman answering the phone said that there must be a break in the wiring somewhere outside. I asked how they figure out where the break is (we have about 2 acres of woods that is "fenced" in) and she said that they have some time of tracking device that they use that lets them know where the break is. She put us on the schedule for the following Tuesday. I wasn't home when they came, but they did fix it as the flashing red light was now the steady green that it was supposed to be. They didn't leave any type of invoice or note saying that they had been there, what the problem had been, where the problem had been, what they did to fix it, or even what the charge to my credit card was going to be. That was disappointing and I did expect it from this company. Other than that, they did come out when they said they would and fixed the problem.
Description of Work: Came and repaired wiring around perimeter of our yard in order to get our invisible fence up and running again.

In our previous home we had invisible fencing. The same system was being added to our current house. Unfortunately in the move the box was damaged. The technician was able to fix it without any additional cost. The dogs have been trained to their new system.

I'd done quite a bit of research into the possibility of adding a second invisible fence collar to our already existing fencing system. I was trying to find out if there were any manufacturers that made a collar that was compatible with our Invisible Fence brand fence and collar that we already had for our 2 year old lab. Our puppy who was 6 months old (second dog) was ready to be trained on the invisible fence. I even called my sister who used to have two dogs on her system to see if she still had her extra collar from several years ago when one of her dogs had passed away. She did still have the collar, but she wasn't sure if it still worked. I'd found out from Invisible Fence that a new receiver collar would be in the $250-$280 range, and it just seemed so expensive. When I felt like I'd exhausted the on line investigation, I took my sister's old, extra collar up to the Invisible Fence office to let them test it out for me. They said it was only giving a correction on one of the prongs, but that they'd be happy to give me a $50 trade in credit toward our second collar. I thought that was a generous offer, given that I didn't have any cheaper options, and I took them up on it. I know there is a referral program where you can earn a free battery program for sending Invisible Fence a new customer, and this is a great opportunity we've taken advantage of once before. I think there should also be a discount for people who have existing systems and either need to replace or add a collar to a system. Customers like to feel rewarded for continued loyalty. This kind of extra consideration would go a long way toward future installations from customers who move and from those they spread the word to who are considering a new system altogether.
Description of Work: I needed to add a second collar to our invisible fence system because we recently had gotten a second dog for our family.

My experience was great. They provided a free estimate and worked with me to find the best option for my situation. Since I had a competitors product they gave me a 25% discount on my installation. The installation was quick and the installers were punctual and very professional. The installers did make one huge mistake, but I'm willing to forgive them. They left both of my fence gates open, so when I let the dogs out after the installation I had to spend a half hour getting all three of them back in the fenced in yard. Oops! I opted for the package with two training sessions and both trainers I worked with were great. They were very responsive to my dog's needs and educated me on how to continue the training.

They were right on time for the first meeting and very punctual in every aspect of the transaction. They did exactly as they said they would. Unfortunately, our dog did not respond entirely as expected initially. So, they came out for further training and that helped. However, in the end, he had troubles learning where the boundaries were and "jumped the fence" relatively frequently.

We recently added a new pet to the family and they were very accommodating and helpful with getting our new pet what she needed to be trained. They also offered to replace the collar for one of our dogs at no cost, as the cloth was wearing a little thin. We have never had any problems with our dogs getting out of our yard. The fence works great and working with the company has been good as well. Highly recommend!
Description of Work: We had our fence installed by Invisible fence a few years ago. They were great then and continue to be there for us if we ever need anything in regards to our dog's collars, batteries, training, etc.

I think the true test of a company is not always a situation where everything goes flawlessly but also how well a company manages the customer when things do not go quite as planned. When my fence was installed I had multiple areas where my irrigation system was cut as well as my cable television line. Invisible fence promptly had my irrigation system repaired and was very involved with working with Comcast to address the cable issue. There were many phone calls all in which I feel I was talked to with respect and they also offered me a free training lesson to compensate my husband and I. My dog has taken to the fence incredibly well and every single time I go outside with him and I so happy we decided to get an invisible fence!

Our sales person was Frann Dyer. Fran was knowledgeable and did a nice job of explaining the packages and pricing. We had a quote from another company and both products seemed very good. The reason we chose Invisible Fence company was the unlimited training sessions they offered in the Ultra Dog Package. We have a Husky and a Terrier, and we had heard that Huskies could be difficult to keep contained. We wanted to ensure that the investment of invisible fencing would be worthwhile, and we felt the company's certified pet trainer would help our pets adjust to the new fencing. We scheduled the installation via telephone, and they took care of having someone come out and mark the buried power lines one day before installation. We had the fencing installed on about 3/4 acre of land, and the installer did a nice job. The 1st trainer arrived on schedule the next day. She set up the yard with flags and had to do some finishing touches on the installation. Our only negative experience was with the first trainer. Our dogs have never attempted to bite someone, and she claimed to have been bit several times while working with our dogs. The trainer lost her grip on the Husky's leash, and our dog ran off. The trainer retrieved our Husky, but we were concerned with the 1st trainer's ability. A different trainer (Dave) was sent out the 2nd day, and he was excellent. He was very good with the dogs and did a nice job of teaching us how to work with the dogs to reinforce what he was doing. Dave was our trainer for five sessions. The dogs are adjusting well to their new freedom, and have not tried to run through the "fence". Dave assured us that if we have any problems, he will come back out to work with the dogs.

Great! Just as I wrote above, they were punctual, friendly and efficient. Directions were very clear and I'm sure it's going to work with our 2 dogs well.
Description of Work: Called Invisible Fence to check on pricing for Super Dog package. Was pleased with pricing and they were out 5 days later to install invisible fence and begin training our 2 golden retrievers. They were right on time, efficient and great with our dogs. So far, we are really pleased. Today was our last day of training so we'll continue on without them. The dogs seem to be responding well.

I canceled the appointment. They wanted to make two trips, one to evaluate the work and the second to perform the work, charging me for each. They also wanted a credit card number in advance to hold my appointment. I have never been asked to do this before. When I objected, the person on the phone got very rude. I then called around and found another company to do the same work in one trip, saving me time and money.

Two weeks ago, my dog escaped, I assumed, due to a bad battery. Our system's indicator showed that the system was working properly. It took 10 days for them to send a battery. Apparently the first one was lost in the mail. After two calls and 7 days, they sent a second battery, which took 2 days to arrive (each day I get to walk my dog outside to pee multiple times and he did run away at least once a day). When I received the new battery, the system did not work, apparently the board had been hit by lightening. The system they gave us was old and did not register problems with the board, only if the wire had been cut. I drove 50 minutes each way to Fishers to get a new board. Upon installation of the board, the system still did not work. Now I'm told the wiring has a problem, so a repair technician is coming for $80. I am not pleased with the system or quality of the product.
Description of Work: We moved into a home with an existing Invisible Fence system. We had to repair the wire and buy a new collar, costing $650. I was not told about the service repair costs. I thought I had a battery problem - it took 10 days to get a replacement battery, as these are unique to Invisible Fencing and cannot be purchased elsewhere. The battery mailed to me was lost in the mail. The board was bad, and now the wire has a problem. A repair will cost $80. My dog has not been contained for 10+ days and I'm in for $730 plus whatever it costs to fix the wire.

We decided to have two companies come and give us estimates for an electronic fence for our dog. Both companies were quite knowledgeable about their competition. Invisible Fence was willing to meet the competition's prices. We also decided to fence off all our landscaping beds. When they came out to install our fence they found the most cost effective way to due this. Some beds wouldn't cost extra, they were just part of the exterior fence. I appreciated this cost saving measure! They were great about training our dog as well. This was well worth the money!

I have mixed feelings. The consultant/salesman who came first helped me choose a place in the basement to install the device, but due to a walkway outside the house the installers said this site wouldn't work. They wanted to install it in the garage (easier for them, but I am considering converting this to a three season room) so we agreed on another basement location. Verbal instructions were provided to me regarding training the dog, but nothing in writing. I had to ask for that after my pet had escaped twice. I was provided with a poor quality many times (photocopied training manual that was very informative). Wish they had given that to me from the start. That said when trainers had to come twice (pet got out a total of three times). The consultants were kind, patient, understanding and encouraging. There was no charge for these visits. With adjustments to the settings, I am now confident the dog will stay inside and life is a lot easier!
