I can't say enough great things about this company. I received an estimate from Dog Watch and met with their installer/trainer before meeting with Invisible Fence. I also spoke to Petstop and had previously had a Petstop system. Invisible Fence is head and shoulders above their competition in product, training, customer service, professionalism and knowledge. Scott was a dream to work with. He's been with the company for 14 years, loves animals, understands customer needs and knows what to do to make those needs a reality. My now 15 week old Mini Golden Doodle runs like a crazy boy in the back yard (and I'm not freezing out there with him), he knows his boundaries and stays in them. I have neighbor dogs, squirrels and deer to tempt him and he stays put. The trainers were wonderful - it's worth noting we trained my puppy in 10 inches of snow! The (minimal) price difference between the other systems is MORE than made up in service, quality and training. I had a petstop system and am beyond thrilled with my Invisible Fence. I also took my puppy to their K9 training camp for a week. Also amazing! Claudia worked with my puppy for 7 days - it's the BEST money I've ever spent. My 11 year old lab was not as well trained as my 15 week old puppy now is. Not only did she train him, she taught me how to lead him and how to help my two daughters (ages 10 & 7) lead our "pack" too! Wonderful company, wonderful people!
Description of Work: Installed invisible fence (2/3 acre lot), trained puppy, 1 week K9 training camp. (cost listed above is for fence only)

They did a nice job. We have neighbors that also have electric fences so they made sure that there were no overlaps that would block out the signal. They also were very nice in explaining the training process. I have had to go back to their office for collar adjustments and they were very nice and answered any questions.

Overall the company was professional and easy to work with. Communication and punctuality was excellent. Our yard already had the wire around the house, the company provided the control box, collar and training. Training was somewhat disappointing considering the price. It's true that no two dogs are alike, but I feel that more could have been done to work with our dog to make the transition easier. I would advise future customers to think long and hard about the value of training. The company provide a sheet with clear instructions on how to train your dog - it's not rocket science and, if you have the time, might be a perfectly good, less costly alternative.

I recently moved into a new home and both of my pets (dog & cat) reacted to their new surroundings by regressive potty habits. I considered putting in an indoor invisible fence to correct the problem. I found the representative extremely professional and very pleasant, and initially signed a contract; however, after considering the cost I decided to try gates for a while and see if I could get by with that. When I called Invisible Fence to tell them of my decision, they were very understanding. I will definitely call them again if this option isn't successful.

A customer service representative came out on time, was very helpul and informative, found multiple breaks in the yard and repaired them. Also showed me how to correctly repair breaks in the future. Very good experience. It is when I called three weeks later and spoke to someone in the office that I became very frustrated. I had discovered that our fence was not shocking our new dog at all. I was told I could bring the collar in and have an adjustment made or I could have them come out and pay $50.00 for the service call. I told her I didn't want to have to pay for the service call because it wasn't my fault. The system had not worked since my last service call and I had just discovered it. I had to finally place my hand on the shocking mechanism to discover that there wasn't a shock being delivered to my dog. I explained that I had spent weeks training my dog as instructed and she had never yet been shocked. Then when I thought she was ready, I let her run free in the yard and she strolled over the fence line and stood there. Again, the woman told me I had two choices, pay for the service call or bring in the collar. I explained that I was a 15 year Invisible Fence customer and that I knew what I was talking about. She told me the collar was purposely set low so we wouldn't scare the puppy. "Trust me", I said, "my puppy isn't scared because there is absolutely no sensation coming off this collar". Still, no offer to come out free of charge, I had to pay or bring it to Noblesville. I placed the collar in my car that day, in case I had the time to drive all the way up there because there was no way I was paying an additional dollar to them. As it turned out, I did drive up there and the collar WAS defective. They replaced it while I waited and I left. One other note, the manager did call me because I'd asked, but I was unable to take the call and she left me a message to call her. By that time, I was already frustrated enough and on the road. I was also tired of bickering over $50. bucks. My biggest complaint is that they don't have any idea what customer service is! They gave me no apologies, no compromises, no benefit of the doubt. Their biggest problem is NO COMPETITION! They get to charge what they want and treat their customers as a money source. They told me that if I'd PURCHASED the training package, I would have received some adjustment service calls, FREE! Ha! I don't need training, I've done 15 years and three dogs on this system! I will say, I am happy my puppy is able to run free in the yard now. I do not look forward to having to call Invisible Fence again if something breaks. What a painful and expensive experience that will be!

The price was a little higher than I wanted to pay, but I'm very satisfied with the result. Obviously, an excellent company overall.
Description of Work: An "invisible fence" was installed around my yard for my new dog. The installation was scheduled less than a week from the date I contacted the company and purchased the fence. The installer was very professional and courteous. He called before arriving (on schedule). Before leaving, he cleaned up the few items left over that were unneeded for installation of the fence, and told me to call if I had any problems. It is barely possible to tell whether anyone was even in the yard, much less that someone had actually installed a buried fence in it. Nothing looks disturbed, and even though there were tree roots in the path where the fence had to be buried, they were undisturbed and unharmed as well. The woman from the same company who came to train my dog, to get him used to the fence, was also excellent. She called before arriving, and even got here shortly before the installer had finished. She is scheduled to do one more training session, and will also check the adjustment of the collar device at that time. The training was included in the purchase price. The fence is working very well, and the dog is already used to it.

It has gone very well. Installation was accomplished in less than 1/2 a day. I went with the high end package because of the unlimited training included. I had concerns about our older dog making the transition to the invisible fence after so many years of a tradtional fence. The trainers from Invisible Fence worked with him 5 times and our dog has adapted well to the new system. We have had no escapes to date after about a month of using the new system. One advantage is that if he needs additional or remedial training in the future, they will come out for no charge and work with him.
Description of Work: I purchased their Ultra Dog Package which included installing the new invisible fence, unlimited training for our 9 year old dog, the collar, and 2 year customer care plan. Ryan did an excellent job of explaining how the system worked, what options we might use, and working with me to establish the best layout for the fence itself.

It was a fine job. They were attentive to my needs and the one who came to train the dogs was good. The dog learnt quickly as she was smart and they showed us how to work with her. She was a tiny puppy but the shock was not great as she broke through the electric fence. They responded by coming quickly to turn it up for us.

I hired this company to install a fence system. The first two dogs were older and had never been on the system before. I was leery about the system as I had used a similar, self-installed product years ago that did not work well. Jim, a consultant, came to my home and discussed the product thoroughly and adressed my questions/concerns. He walked the yard with me and gave suggestions on the borders of the fence. Next someone came out to bury the line and set-up the system. Then the trainer came to start working with the dogs - this all happened in a span of about 7-10 days. Dave was the primary trainer that worked with us and he was excellent. My dogs both had very different reactions to the fence - one was okay with it and the other became very timid. It took the timid dog longer to adjust and more work. Dave made one or two extra visits outside of the contract to make sure that the dog was comfortable with the system. They do have an interest in making sure the pets are trained well since the product can be returned within a certain period of time. I later had a break in the line where it was not buried deep enough and the lawn mower cut it. Since it was not my fault, they repaired that free of charge within a couple of days. Months later I adopted a puppy and she needed training. I asked for Dave again and her training was successful as well. If you want to work with the same trainer you have to be flexible on scheduling, otherwise they can get different trainers out to the home based on your schedule.

The experience went really well. I appreciated their honesty. Near the end of the second week they called my husband to let him know that they wanted to spend another week with Belle to get her to the level they expected. We agreed and she came back a changed dog. She follows commands and is much more well behaved. Our trainer spent an hour with us when we picked her up to train us. Belle now follows directions and it is great!

Karen came out and delivered the collar and the indoor unit. She did some training with the dog and he was very responsive to her. A week or two later the fence was installed. It seemed to be a bit of a comedy of errors, but they guy doing the installation was a really good sport and very helpful. During the installation of the unit in the garage he shorted out the fuse box. He was terribly apologetic and willing to get his supervisor out, but my handyman lives across the street and came straight over and fixed the problem in a jiffy. While laying the line he ran into a patio in the back yard that we never knew was there. He couldn't bury the line there, so he layed it on top and covered it as best he could. We then brought in top soil to bury it properly. It seems he also had some difficulty drilling through the brick wall of the garage to run the final line, but he got there in the end. The trainer came near the end of the day and made suggestions on how to introduce the dog to the fence boundaries. We followed those for a couple weeks. At a follow up training session, I expressed concerns that the dog was not using the yard that he seemed afraid use the yard now. Further suggestions were made and they did help. After 4 weeks, the dog decided that the zap was worth his freedom and escaped on a couple of occasions. I called and another trainer came. He made some suggestions which we continue to work on. We have not done exit training as of yet, but need to do so. I was concerned that I had used up all our training sessions, but was assured by our last trainer that the fence is guaranteed to contain the dog and that they would come out as needed.
