It went quite well. We balked at the price at first, but there's really nothing like it for our property. We initially contacted Havahart wireless, but they wouldn't sell to us because we have a heavily-wooded, hilly property, and wireless systems are only suited for flat properties w/o many large landscape features. So, after resigning ourselves to a wired system we looked around and found that it wasn't such a horrible deal after all, especially with the "special" they were running at the time. The fact that they guarantee their product also helped us make the decision. Chris and James, the installers, were excellent. The trainers did a good job, too. Our 2 large, energetic puppies have never left the yard since the system was installed. That's priceless.

Invisible Fence staked the existing fence perimeter and handed me two collars for the two dogs. They spent about 5-10 minutes showing me how to train the dogs. I had them return a few weeks later and show my wife and kids how to work with the dogs as well. So I paid $1200 for two collars, a few flags around the yard, and 15 to 20 minutes of learning to train the dogs. Net result, one and a half years later, is we have one dog who is afraid of grass and another dog who wont stay in the yard at all (hits the perimeter on a dead run and doesn't get shocked...). Cant really recommend this to anyone. Buy replacement batteries online as you can find them for half of what they sell them for. There are MUCH less costly alternatives at the home improvement stores if your dog can be trained.

Everything went very well. There was some initial confusion about the placing of the line on the side yards. They fixed everything right away and made sure I was satisfied. The trainer was great. Worked with my dog to show her how to enjoy the backyard while still being contained. It works very well. My dog is doing great with it so I couldn't be more pleased.

We actually agreed to install Invisible Fence in the spring but due to our new construction and delay in landscaping our home we did not install until late September. Invisible Fence was completely understanding about our frequent delays and rescheduling and was prompt with installation when our ldelays finally resolved. Installer arrived at the specified time and installed the invisible fence as we desired. Trainers subsequently visited to assess and train our dog and her parents in the pet containment process. Training went extremely well despite my initial trepidation; we have always had conventional hard fence products for pet containment and I was leery of Invisible Fence working and of our dog respecting the boundaries. Training was very easy and our dog responded exceptionally well. Trainers spent one on one time with the dog and then with me and the dog. Trainers brought along their own dogs to act as trainers as well. Their dogs had free run outside the boundary and were allowed to cross the line enticing our dog to do the same. This occurred only a couple of times until our dog "got it" that she had a boundary she was expected to respect. After my initial doubt I am totally sold on Invisible Fence. We have had the system operational for two months and it is working beautifully. We have had no issues whatsoever with our dog escaping her boundaries and she seems happy to be leash free. In addition we do not have issues with maintenance in mowing and trimming around a hard fence. Happy, happy, happy. This company and product exceeded our expectations.

It's a long story, but it started with my breaking my own "rule", which is to avoid undocumented communications in potentially adverserial situations. If I had communicated via fax or email, IF would have had a chance to consult its' own records and, by doing so, discovering that my complaint about what I was sure (wrongly, as it turned out) was a issue that could have been resolved without a service call. Bottom line: It was a good reminder to me to follow my own rule, and it was excellent customer service for them to cut me some slack.
Description of Work: Made a service call that, due in part to my fault, proved to be unnecessary -- then waived the trip charge.

Went absolutely great. As above.
Description of Work: We already had system in place, but wanted to add new dog and also needed batteries. They come out and put up flags around the yard and then work with you and the dog. also, Doug went way beyond and gave us all kinds of general training tips. We have had this service since 2004 and it is one of the best investments we have made. We have had 4 dogs on their plan and it has worked every time. I have shocked myself and can tell you it is only like a little p****. The dogs just shake their heads but they soon learn listen for the warning.

I started out with the idea of buying and installing the underground fence myself. As I began the work my neighbor came out and warned me that she had trouble with the underground utilities ( wiring) interfering with her (self installed) system. The more I worked at trying to bury the wire the more I realized that I needed professional installation. Not knowing for sure that it would work ,not knowing how to properly set the level of correction and not know for sure if it was working the right way I was glad I called Invisible Fence. From the salesperson (Stacy) to the installation and the trainer (Doug) all was a positive learning experience. I feel better for Eddy to know that it was installed correctly and he won't take any over charged electrocutions. Eddy is learning fast. We have had two training sessions with Doug and Eddy has already figured out that he now has boundaries. It was expensive but it offers a lot of piece of mind.

The salesperson came out to our house to meet our dogs, measure the fence line, and quote the price. We purchased that day and the installer was out a few days later. He did a good job of doing the install, and our trainers came out the day after that. The whole experience was surprisingly easy and less expensive than I expected.

We are in the middle of training and it has been great so far. They were very good. It has been working great so far and we have not taken the rope off the dog yet. It makes a beeping sound when the dog gets by there. You train them with it. It is not really an electric shock but they get a little bit of a tickly feeling which is enough to deter them. We basically train them with flags around the perimeter first and so, they know where not to go. If they get close to it then they get a little bit of a noise and vibration with it. I did not even look at any competition. I noticed that a lot of people in my neighborhood had it and that was why I called them. I did not even shop around. I did not want a knock off brand or anything and so, I really don't know what the price is as it was the company that I wanted to go with. Their responsiveness was excellent.

Our Invisible Fence experience was a good one, yet a little more expensive than we had originally planned on. We had just moved into a new house and the previous owner said the yard had an electric fence (but hadn't used in a few years). We thought we would just need to pay for the new puppy training package and collars ($740), but at the initial training visit, the trainer found the line to be broken and 13 years old. We were told that the lines usually are good for 10 years. Instead of repairing, and risking future costly repairs on an old line (and risk dogs escaping during a future/potential break in wire), we decided to re-wire the entire yard and start fresh. ($421 - this was were the cost increased from our initial discussion) The installers came out the following week and put down the wire. I purchased the basic collar for each of my 50 pound and over dogs and the weight doesn't seem to bother them at all. The megalight new collars do appear smaller and lighter, but at over $300 each, I just couldn't afford to spend that in addition to the training and new wire. Both the first and second training sessions were successful. Jaime is particularly good at helping dogs feel at ease. Two of my dogs are more comfortable around women, so I feel that helped with their training. Although after a few "corrections" all three on the porch. She assured me that they would eventually relax and trust the yard more. And they have done just that. It's been a couple of weeks since the last training session and the dogs are all doing great running and playing, yet very aware of the flags and maintain a good distance from the lines. I was particularly impressed by Invisible Fence's promptness to put in a new wire that extended further out in the yard than the one previously put down the week before. We felt that the dogs were so cautious of fence that they wouldn't leave the sidewalk in the front of the house. We asked them to put a new wire further out in the front yard so they would be able to enjoy more than just the sidewalk. Invisible Fence was out that afternoon and I was able to begin retraining the dogs on the new boundary line when I got home from work. Jared was prompt, courteous and a pleasure to work with. He made sure that we were happy customers.
Description of Work: Installed new line and connected to existing Invisible Fence unit. Purchased new puppy training package and collars for my three dogs.

They did the job fine. The new collars tear easily (the plastic around the battery). Their fees are quite high. They have fees for the product and then separate fees for labor which is $25.00 for every 15 minutes they are at your house. There is also a separate $55.00 "arrival" fee. Old systems need to be upgraded, and it is quite expensive. New collars (they need to be upgraded with new technology) are very costly. I think that it is $300.00 per collar. The receptionist was not very helpful.
Description of Work: In 2000 we had the system put in. In the years since then, we have had some repairs and bought new collars. The most recent work in 2010 was for new collars.

The indoor training was done first and it went very well. The outdoor installation also went just fine, even though it had been and was raining throughout this period of time. The outdoor training went very well and my dog only needed four sessions. It is very obvious that the trainers (three different ones) really love dogs and know how to train them. I chose Invisible Fence for the following reasons: Conventional fencing was more expensive (even using some of the existing fence and fence parts) and the recommendation of a family member. I am not disappointed at all. I plan on sending my dog to their K9 Kamp for a week as my service of choice and I expect that experience will be just as satisfying as the fence installation and dog training on it.
Description of Work: I bought the most expensive/extensive package so an indoor unit with flags was put in the basement and the "fence" was installed and flags placed outside. The outside installation goes across a driveway so that had to be cut for the wire to be installed. The package also includes unlimited training and a service of my choice.
