+ -1 moreMy overall experience was frustrating, but not to the fault of the Invisible Fence Company. It took my two Min Pin's about 2 weeks to learn how to use the fence.During that 2 weeks they were so scared of getting shocked by the fence that they would just stand in the yard and shake for hours...and then pee inside the house when they were let back in. I was unprepared for how long it would take to train them to use the fence so it was quite an irritating and frustrating experience. The fence company was nice enough to schedule free follow up visits when I called to tell them my dogs couldnt figure the fence out. We didn't end up needing the follow ups, but it was nice the company offered.
Description of Work: Invisible Fence Company installed an invisible fence around the front and back yards of my property. We have about 1/3 of an acre. I have two dogs, so I got two collars and 4 days of training for the $1200.

+ -1 moreWhen we first contacted invisible fence about installing the system at our new house (around April 1st), they indicated it would be no problem doing the installation around May 3rd. We had an initial estimate scheduled for April 27th, and at that time, they told us it would be much later because now they had a backlog of business. Not a huge deal. The fence works great, but the dogs are already trained from living with the same kind of fence previously. They don't offer a package that lets you forgo the training. That is disappointing, because I would have rather saved the money and just paid for what I needed. When the installer came, he didn't have a ladder tall enough to reach the ceiling in my garage, where the power supply would normally be plugged in. Instead, he routed along a wall into a GFI outlet that is the only free outlet in my garage that isn't on the ceiling. Now I have to have additional outlets put in the garage.
Description of Work: Installation of invisible fencing system with two collars and one training session for two dogs.

+ -1 moreWent with competitor, because it offered more options for changing the system if my dog started to figure out ways to get out of the starting setup. The sales rep. was very nice, professional and punctuational. Just went with a competing system for the same price.($950.00)

+ -1 moreEveryone that I interacted with from this company was pleasant, friendly and professional - from the first telephone call to the last training day. The salesman, Dustin, showed up as scheduled and thoroughly explained the system. He never pressured me for the sale. Jared, Jeremy and Roger, the installers/trainers, slogged through the muddy yard in rainstorms nearly every day, with never a complaint. I was amazed at how well my dog took to the trainers. He was never afraid of them or alarmed with their movements or mannerisms. This was a new experience, because he is typically aggressive with unfamiliar men. The guys treated my dog as I would, and I appreciated that. They must have been sending off good vibes! I would definitely recommend Invisible Fence.
Description of Work: Invisible Fence installed a pet fence on my 1/3 acre lot and did seven days of training with my German Shepherd Dog.

I GET MY BATTERY EVERY 3 MONTHS LIKE CLOCKWORK. MY NEIGHBOR IS WORKING CLOSE TO MY FENCE LINE (DIGGING). I CALLED WITH CONCERNS AND THEY EXPLAINED TO ME WHAT TO DO IF THE SYSTEM ALARMS DUE TO LINE BEING CUT. THIS REASSURED ME THAT I WOULD KNOW IF THERE WAS A BREAK IN MY SYSTEM AND MY DOG WOULD BE AT RISK.

+ -1 moreTHE INSTALLER WAS EXCELLENT. HE WAS VERY CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED. HE LET ME KNOW WHAT HE WAS DOING EACH STEP OF THE WAY. AT ONE POINT, HE CUT THROUGH OUR CABLE T.V.(HAD JUST BEEN INSTALLED DAY BEFORE), BUT IT WAS OBVIOUSLY NOT HIS FAULT. WE LOOKED WHERE THE MARKING/LOCATION SERVICE HAD MARKED THE CABLE AND HE WAS TWO FEET FROM THE PAINT. IT WAS THE LOCATION COMPANY'S FAULT IN THIS CASE. HE WAS VERY APOLOGETIC, BUT HE DIDN'T NEED TO BE. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE IS THAT I HAD BEEN TOLD OVER THE PHONE THAT I WOULD BE CHARGED ABOUT $300 TO RUN THE NEW LINE IN THE YARD IF I BROUGHT MY HARDWARE FROM THE OLD HOUSE. IT WAS ABOUT DOUBLE THAT BECAUSE OUR NEW YARD WAS BIGGER. I FELT VERY MISLED BY THE ORIGINAL CONVERSATION I HAD WITH INVISIBLE FENCE. THEY DIDN'T EVEN ASK ME HOW OUR NEW YARD COMPARED IN SIZE. IT PUT THE INSTALLER IN AN AWKWARD POSITION AS WELL. I DIDN'T THINK IT WAS VERY HONEST OF INVISIBLE FENCE. FOR A REPEAT CUSTOMER, I WOULD'VE EXPECTED BETTER.

EACH TIME I CALL, I GET AN EXCUSE THAT THEY MUST CHECK WITH SOMEONE OR THEY DON'T REMEMBER ME! THEN I NEVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN. I FEEL THAT I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. I WOULD NOT HAVE FILED THIS REPORT IF INVISIBLE FENCE HAD TRIED TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM, BUT IT HAS NOW BEEN NEARLY 2 MONTHS, AND INVISIBLE FENCE HAS MADE NO EFFORT TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. INVISIBLE FENCE INITIALLY ASKED IF I WOULD ACCEPT A CREDIT FOR SERVICE ON REPAIRING OUR FENCE, BUT I WOULD PREFER A REFUND, SINCE IT HOPEFULLY WOULD BE QUITE SOME TIME BEFORE OUR FENCE WILL NEED REPAIR... I'M AFRAID THAT AT THE POINT IN TIME WHEN MY FENCE MAY NEED REPAIR, THEY WILL HAVE NO RECORD OF OWING ME A $65 SERVICE CALL. OUR EXPERIENCE WITH INVISIBLE FENCE UP TO THIS POINT HAS BEEN FINE.
Description of Work: ON MARCH 12, 2004, MY CHILDREN CALLED ME AT WORK TO TELL ME THE ALARM FOR OUR INVISIBLE FENCE WAS SOUNDING, INDICATING THE FENCE WAS NOT OPERATIONAL. I SPOKE WITH SOMEONE AT INVISIBLE FENCE BRIEFLY. THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE ALARM MEANT THAT THERE HAD BEEN A BREAK IN THE WIRE OF OUR INVISIBLE FENCE. THEY COULD NOT REPAIR MY FENCE UNTIL FRIDAY MORNING, AND I LEFT A CHECK FOR THE REPAIR NEXT TO THE UNIT ($65). ON SATURDAY, I SAW MY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR WHO ALSO HAS INVISIBLE FENCE, AND HE SAID HE HAD WORK DONE TO HIS FENCE ON WEDNESDAY AND WAS THERE WHEN THE TECH BROKE THE LINE TO OUR FENCE, BUT THE TECH THOUGHT HE HAD REPAIRED IT. I CALLED INVISIBLE FENCE AND REPORTED THIS AND HAVE CALLED 3 MORE TIMES SINCE THEN. I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED A REFUND FOR THE $65. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY TO REPAIR MY FENCE WHEN THEIR OWN TECH BROKE THE LINE WHILE WORKING ON MY NEIGHBOR'S FENCE! ASKED IF I WOULD HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR A FUTURE JOB?
