Bruce Mcnabh and his staff are knowledgeable, professional and fun o be around. Bruce is great. He is very patient with each person and their dog.

Can't say enough good about this business. Our rescue pit mix was a large, powerful bundle of puppy energy! We were at our wits' end managing him -- not mean, just wild. Bruce's classes along with personal training from Rip and Melissa, taught us and the dog the skills we needed. Our dog is now 2 and a terrific companion. Sits, stays, downs, heels, etc. on command, but still very energetic and playful. We wasted no time taking our second rescued pit mix there too! See more comments at First Friends website.

I thought, at the time, the pricing was good. I would not use them again.

I took my 2 yr old pup Ellie here for obedience training... Having originally gone through PetSmart training which clearly didn't do much to help the constant barking at people walking by, jumping on everyone, being territorial at the bark park and even snapping at me! I have known about first friends for YEARS having grown up in the fishers area. I took to Angie's List to learn more about them and a co-worker even referred them. This has been by far the BEST $165 I have ever spent (for the class and daycare). just within the first week she had stopped barking at people, by the end of the 8 week class she was down-staying and sit-staying at length and more. She loves the day care and everything! Bruce and his staff are AWESOME!! They're friendly, helpful and want you and your dog to succeed. They're passionate and knowledgable. They go above and beyond to help you and your dog work through any training issues or obstacles you may have -training class was even fun for me! Make no mistake, it takes time and commitment, but if you love your pups - totally worth the investment of not just your time and money but your love too! Ellie and I plan to continue to attend classes at First Friends for the advanced obedience and agility! I recommended them to my family (my sister and her dog were in the same class as we were) and neighbor - now I'm recommending them to you! I could go on and on but I will just leave it up to you to call them, you'll be beyond thrilled and thankful you did!

We're in a maintenance program with them. We take our dogs there every week.

The classes were held promptly and although the class was large, there was plenty of individual attention given to me and my dog. Whenever I didn't understand something either Bruce or one of his assistants would work with me. Bruce demonstrated how to do the exercises with different dogs during each class so you could get an understanding of what you were supposed to be doing with your dog. My dog is a much better socialized member of our family now. I would definitely recommend training your dog there.

We took a puppy training class at First Friend and we were very happy with the class as a whole: the information presented, the techniques we learned, and the socialization of our puppy. We signed up for the next level class at First Friend. We also have taken our puppy to doggy day care there, and he has so much fun! It's a great way to socialize a young puppy, and there is always someone supervising the dogs. We've also had our pup groomed there a couple times, and Kelsie did a fantastic job. I was very pleased with how he looked afterwards, and we will bring him back for more grooming.

I signed up my girlfriend's dog, Oliver, for the 8 week novice training class. It went very well. Oliver is a smaller energetic dog and I was thinking we would be happy if he just learned how to sit. He ended up learning much more and both my girlfriend and I were extremely pleased with Bruce's training and Oliver's progress. First Friends was recommended to me by my roommate who took her dog there and he is one of the most well behaved dogs I have seen. I've already recommended First Friends to a few other dog owners I know.

Wonderful class!!! . As expected, Bruce and his crew were amazing!! I now have a much better behaved puppy. Not a perfect puppy, because she's still a puppy, after all. But, we can take relaxing walks, I can trim her nails, she sits, she stays and the nipping (playing) with puppy "needle" teeth is under control. All of this in just five weeks!!! Just like a child, however, consistency is key. I worked, daily, with my puppy and continue to do so. Just like children, puppie's and dog's behavior is a direct reflection on the parent(s). I'm looking forward to the next level, Novice, next month! I would never trust anyone else with my dogs. I'm always amazed at Bruce's patience and calm demeanor in class. He never loses his cool with some of the not-so-attentive dogs and their people. Bruce is truly my "dog whisperer".

We rescued a dog, and she was horrible. We were at the point of possibly getting rid of her. She is now a completely different dog.

We didn't realize when we got Remy as a puppy that his breed was known for their extreme amounts of energy and need for attention and exercise. I was pregnant with our third child at the time and we were considering finding a new home for the dog before I had the baby because we couldn't handle his rambunctiousness. A friend suggested we take him to First Friend before getting rid of him, and we are SO GLAD we did! A well-trained dog really does make all the difference. Remy still has a ton of energy but it is under control now. After graduating from the novice class we jumped right into the Advanced class which meets once a week. The ongoing sessions are great for both Remy and us as his handlers because it keeps his training fresh in our minds. Bruce really knows his stuff and he knows that his training model is effective. He is very friendly and is always ready to answer any questions (we have a lot, all the time it seems). The facility also sells food (where we buy for our dogs), toys, and training stuff.

They are a good organization. They have trained and boarded my dog, and also provided dog day care services. They have really good service. They charge me $90 for training and $15 for day care services. I rate them highly. I will continue to use them in the future.

My two current dogs are enrolled in the Advanced class, which is a yearly membership with a weekly class… all for only $100! Fantastic training at a fantastic price! This establishment not only provides quality training, but also provides a fun, family friendly atmosphere. It continues to be an awesome experience. My dogs even "know" when it's Wednesday night. They both dance and prance at the door, ready to go! So, not only is it a great experience for the humans, but the dogs really do seem to enjoy themselves as well.

They were absolutely wonderful. From the very beginning they were giving helpful tips for me with my new dachshund before classes even started. Once classes started we were learning new things every week. If I was ever having problems, they were always there to help. Every question or concern I had about my dog, they had an answer. The entire staff is very informative and every class was enjoyable!

It was a great experience. Bruce, the owner, knows his stuff, he gave good clear instructions and ways very hands on. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. I highly recommend them.

When my husband and I decided to use First Friends, they asked us to bring our puppy in. We had our first meeting before ever attending the training. On the first day, we were asked to not bring our dogs. The training was to teach the dog owners. The class was amazing and the graduation day was priceless.

Bruce and his staff are always available to answer questions and help with any problems so dogs who attend become good canine citizens.

I can't say enough great things about First Friends. I recommend them to everyone. I have the best trained dog ever! The daycare is so great, too! We use at least 3 times per week.

This is a fun enviromment. We go every Wednesday evening and have made lots of friends there. Bruce is a good traininer and make the class fun.

I had a great experience from the start to the finish. Bruce and his staff are great with the puppies and their owners.

Two of our dogs have successfully passed muster at Bruce's establishment. This second one was making us wonder if she would be a good candidate for training... a lot of s****, smart, and loved getting into things. But, the transformation has been amazing. She is now a civilized little creature and fun to take out anywhere. We would highly recomend First Friend (and we have) to anyone looking for quality dog training.

Everyone exceptionally professional and knowledgeable. Always encouraging us to contact if we have problems. I have seen Brace on numerous occasions in dress take a dog aside for additional corrective help one on one as well as help the handler get on track. Stopping by for additional help is always encouraged. I personally have phoned in to get additional assistance encouragement and the trainers are always more than willing to take that time to help out.

My doggie needed behavioral help. Bruce and staff were respectful and listened to my needs; they placed us in appropriate class level. My dog’s aggressive behavior is on its way out and we have much more fun together. I am definitely taking my other dog now. I cant say how great this team at first friend K9 is.
