First Friend K-9 Training

Class sizes are large which may be a little uncomfortable . Bruce and his staff do a great job, the drive was a bit much for me during the winter. There were several nights where it was dangerous to drive. Bruce doesn't close even if there are travel advisories, just so you know, nor does he refund. If your driving long distances take the class at a time other than winter. I69 is a bear and so are the side streets. Other than that I would highly recommend.

Anyone with a new puppy owes it to themselves and their dog to enroll in their Puppy Class. Not only did we learn basic obedience, but we learned how to easily take care of our dogs (clip their nails, clean their ears, bush their teeth). If you've ever had a dog that refused to cooperate with basic care, learning the techniques to do it quietly and calmly is priceless. If you listen to Bruce (the head trainer) and practice at home, anyone will have a much better experience with their dog. We've already enrolled in the Intermediate Class. Highly recommend!

It was amazing to see the changes that could happen in just a few short weeks. If you take the time and follow the direction of Bruce, results will be achieved. Mackey has also attended day care at first friends. He absolutely loves it. He often falls asleep before we can even get home after a day of play. He is a much better puppy when he is given the time to interact with the other dogs. Bruce not only helped me with training but also gave great advice about food, health tips, and additional struggles we were having at home. I would trust the entire staff at First Friends 100%. They have proven they truly keep their clients best interest at heart.

Puppy training at First Friend K9 was AMAZING! I recommend everyone with a puppy go to them. MY dog is very hyperactive but smart. they gave me tools and training I needed to get her to settle down and mind what I say. After graduating puppy class my dog now knows how to sit, laydown, and stay (for long intervals) she walks well on a leash and allows me to groom her (brush hair, trim nails, brush teeth, give her pills, and a lot more..) I was so pleased with the results that I signed up for the next training class so that my dog can continue learning. I will bring all of my dogs here in the future.

Took both of my dogs there. Bruce is great, as is all of the staff. Would definitely take my dogs there for further training and have recommended them to others who also had great experiences.

I take my doberman to puppy class and daycare at first friend . Bruce does a excellent job and I will continue with their novice class.

We had a great time during novice training. Bruce and his staff were very professional. We found all of their instructions easy to follow. We will definitely be going back for additional training classes!

Great! Brewer is obviously very knowledgeable about dogs. My dog has changed tremendously since training began.

This is my 5th dog to go to Bruce's class over many years. Bruce is firm, but wants what is best for your puppy so he or she is well behaved and not a nightmare to live with. I would not go any place else for puppy training.

I can't say enough great things about First Friend! Zeus has made strides in the past couple weeks that we have been attending class. All the trainers are passionate about what they do and committed to helping all the dogs and owners in getting their dogs where they want to be. I would recommend First Friend to anyone looking for a training facility. We will continue with them for many years. They offer not only obedience but agility classes as well. We also recently started attending daycare there as well and that too has been great!

The lead instructor, Bruce, has a unique talent of truly connecting with dogs of all types. I've seen some rescue dogs make some unbelievable changes in behavior and focus. Bruce is diligent in providing personalized instruction to best ensure all dogs are successful learners. The rest of the staff are quick to provide any necessary support. We were unable to attend the last week of our session, graduation. The staff of First Friends arranged for us to attend the last few sessions of any upcoming session to ensure our dog would successfully graduate. This offer was made for no extra cost. I would recommend their classes (we also attended the puppy class) to any dog lover!

First class explained legal and post disciplined and doing home work. Was helpful and good test at the end.

Bruce and staff’s Puppy kinder garter is the “Best” training you can do for your puppy. They learn to be well behaved, social with other dogs, children and adults love them. Five stars all the way.

The instruction provided in our puppy kindergarten class was excellent. Bruce and his staff are very knowledgeable and more than willing to take time to give individualized help to address any problems you may be experiencing.

Bruce is an amazing trainer and I highly recommend him! We will continue to use him for every dog we get.

Brice ( Instructor) was very consistent with instructions, Exceptions , homework. He knows does and behavior well. Highly recommend.

Bruce and his staff are awesome with the dogs. The orientation taught me a lot, from what it is safe to feed my dog, to not allowing him to have anything in his cage that he could choke on while we are away. With the puppy class you get 3 free days at the doggy daycare. It helped my puppy socialize and become much more confident. When I first took him to the training, he was scared of both other dogs and people, by the 2nd week he was wanting to play and really enjoyed being in the company of other dogs and their owners. Bruce helped me learn how to discipline and then reward in positive ways. I will be going to the novice class with my puppy starting in August. I can't wait to experience this training in the future as my dog grows. I will continue to take my dog to the doggy daycare and any future dogs I adopt will be going through both the puppy and novice class for sure at First Friend K9.

Very professional with great results. A handout was provided so we knew what training we would be working on every week. My dog and I learned a lot. I would highly recommend them. The lessons are a great bargain!

This is the second class we took our dog to at First Friends. Our puppy did so well in the puppy class that we decided to do the Novice class as well. Bruce knows what he is doing and trains the trainers to train their dogs. We will continue training our dog at First Friends with the additional classes they offer. Great value for the amount we spent.

Attended Puppy class and currently in Novice class as well. Had a great experience in the puppy class, more then just obedience training, showed basic care and treatment for puppy as they grow up that has helped A LOT. Also used the daycare service and our dog always comes home happy and wore out from all the play and exercise they get while there. The only issue we had is once when we brought the food and gave instructions to feed at 4pm to keep her on the same schedule as at home we came to pick her up at 6pm and they were just feeding her then.. so 2 hours off of what we had asked for and saw them write down. Not a huge deal but seems like something so simple would be easy to follow. Other then that one time they have been great and we will continue to use them for both training and daycare going forward. You can tell the staff enjoy their job and know the dogs, which means they are spending time with them at daycare. The training so far is really good, a balance of both positive and negative is used in the techniques which works great. We have a high drive German Shepherd that is almost 6 months now and we have all learned a lot from the training we have received here. We will most likely move onto the advanced class with her as well as training for Schutzhund at the same time.

We started with an orientation class that I dreaded because it was 2 hours long. It was so helpful, informational and entertaining that I couldn't wait to start the classes with my dog. They promised we would see great results if we practiced what we were taught; they weren't kidding either. My goal was to socialize & better train my dog because I thought she was bored. The transformation that took place in her is remarkable! I wasn't even aware of needed improvements until she became this unbelievably willing to please, K9! I also learned so much about other dogs, how to handle tough dog situations and reassurance that I was handling my dog appropriately. Not once did I ever feel they were wasting my time which is extremely important to me! I am a much better informed dog owner as a result of First Friends and my dog is AWESOME & HAPPY because of them!
