Beautiful is all I can say. Best house on the block again. This is a bigger sized house...and he did a great job. Also hung the new shutters I purchased.

Flawlessly! I have worked, as a homeowner, with many home service contractors, most of them good and some of them not so good. I have never seen a home service contractor as eager to please as Joshua DeVries and his people. He was easy to contact and always prompt to reply. He never hesitated to do, with no quibling about cost, extra details that came up along the way as they always do. His price was low compared to two other estimates.

It went so well, as always, that I couldn't wait to hire DeVries again! I have just finished with my 1 year review in a new home and am so excited to have Joshua come in and paint away all the builder's paint! This will be the fourth or fifth time that I have used this company, so that says a lot. On the last job, it was difficult to remove the silk grasscloth wall covering because it left ridges on the wall. Joshua was not pleased with how it turned out the first time and so they re-did that room completely. He is extremely professional, dedicated and adamant about doing a good job. I have been dealing with vendors, contractors and workers for the past year on the house and it will be a pleasure to have Joshua and his team back in my home. When he painted the last time, I did not know I would be moving so soon. The new owners were so pleased with the quality of the job done and they thought I had done it just for the sale---it was over 14 months old already! He has a good eye for color and design and he will share his thoughts about what he has seen done in other homes. He does not push---he just opens up new ideas for me to think about. He is responsive and communicates well. Truly---I look forward to working with him again.

It was a rather extensive wood repair project. They did a nice job with the repair and the final finish looks very nice.

Initially I asked for a quote for power washing the green mildew off the north side of the house. Josh was one of the few who was willing to do just one wall. My husband and I then decided perhaps the entire house needed power washing. Josh confirmed that thought by showing me the chalky surface due to oxidation on the siding. Had entire house done and we are quite pleased! So glad we did it. Joshua is professional and I would hire him again for this job or for painting.

Excellent work! Deck was cleaned, scraped, sanded and restained. Looks absolutely perfect! Workers were very conscientious about our small waterfall while pressure washing and completely covered it to keep paint chips out. Joshua went the extra mile to be sure we were happy with the color. I highly recommend Devries!

Josh and his crew are very professional and very knowledgeable. There is a great deal of pride in workmanship-experience, both in carpentry and painting, but also Josh has an exceptional eye for color. All told, it took over a week to complete the project, and some of those days did not end until after 8:00pm. No work was ever done without first explaining and detailing the issues and nothing was ever done without first receiving our express approval. I cannot recommend this company more.

I've used Joshua before and probably would not use anyone else on the exterior of my house. Joshua and his crew always get the job done and have exceeded my expectation by doing more than what they agreed to do to make everything right. Joshua will work with you to get the job done in the best, most efficient way, cost effective way for the long run. Probably not the least expensive contractor, but I wasn't looking for the least expensive, I was looking for the best.

When he came to do the initial estimate, Joshua Devries stressed that his first goal was customer service. He certainly met that goal. He conferred with me on each step of the project and returned calls and answered questions promptly. I was pleasantly surprised at the additional skills his crew possessed and the jobs they could do that would otherwise have necessitated another provider. The workmen were quiet, efficient, courteous, and professional. The work was completed on time and on budget. Joshua has years of experience and was able to make many helpful suggestions that improved the final outcome of the job. I'd give him an A+ rating if I could and would definitely use his company again.

Communication and responsiveness was poor. He came out to our house and we never got a quote. We did not hire him.

We had a few estimates when deciding to paint the exterior of our home. Most often the estimators came to our home, looked around, provided very basic information, wrote an estimate and left. One painter who we met at the Home Show came out, walk around without us and emailed the estimate that gave very limited info with a nice price tag and a button to click to accept without ever speaking to us after looking around our home. Joshua, with DeVries, came to our home also to provide an estimate. The difference with DeVires is he took the time to explain everything he'd be doing, what precautions he'd be taking and why, what we could expect, and made us feel like he cared about the job he'd be doing for us. He was professinal, always! Did as promised, always! Arrived as promised, always! He and his crew were professional and careful, always! Due to weather, he had to postpone arrival one day and he notified us in plenty of time so our time was not spent wondering and waiting. When we noticed a light fixture had not been reinstalled in error upon completion, we called, and someone was out that very day to make sure it was taken care of. I did not list his pricing for our home as all homes are different with different needs, etc. But pricing was fair! I would suggest you at least give Joshua with DeVries a chance to estimate your job and compare him and what he has to say to others estimators, then make your choice. We'd use him again with no reservations what so ever.

Joshua De tries was very professional. He also was very informative about the process from start to finish.

Josh was able to visit my home and provide an estimate on the same day I called him, and he started the next day. All work was done over a day and a half. Winter is his slow season, so that certainly helped with the expediency. I was nervous about hiring a painter, because I have done a lot of restoration and painting work myself, and I was uncertain if I could find someone who would work to my standards. Josh immediately put me at ease by explaining his technique and the products he used. He even gave me some tips to improve my technique. Originally, Josh's estimate was $850.00 plus the cost of paint. He managed to get the work done more quickly than anticipated, so he covered the cost of the paint, saving us approximately $150.00. Josh and his assistant were very polite and respectful of our home. They put down a paper runner from the bedroom to the nearest outside door, so they would not trek paint or dirt on our floors. When finished, they vacuumed and cleaned up very well. The price was steep, but the quality was worth it. If I ever need something painted and I can't get it done myself, I will definitely call Josh again.

He wanted me to send him pictures for my job, but he was booked three months out and so I didn’t end up using him. He was a very nice person and he was very helpful with the tips he provided for my project.

Job was smooth and professional from stem to stern. Joshua called me back the same day I made an inquiry. We were able to schedule a time to review the requested work at my first opening. The house was being prepared for market, so once I decided to go ahead with the work, Joshua was able to adjust schedule and work this job as a high priority. The interior was completely painted. The exterior had deck, trim and siding painted. I was incredibly nervous about the exterior work, but I could not be happier. Joshua was informative, patient and presented a great number of options and insight and ultimately high quality work to help me sell my home.

Josh and his crew were helpful in every way. Josh assisted us in picking colors of stain/paint and gave us great ideas that we would not have come up with on our own. All rotten exterior wood and trim were called to my attention and replaced to look like new. The crew was extremely professional and workmanlike. My property was orderly throughout the process. Carpentry work and paint job are A+. Josh's customer service was A+. I knew what was going on throughout the process and there were no surprises at the end. I feel like I got a very professional job at a great price. This was a big job and they got it right! I would not hesitate to recommend Josh and his team!

At our initial meeting Josh told me that he could make the aluminum siding on our older house look brand new and he did! The crew was friendly, efficient, and did a great job. What made this an A+ job was Joshua's superior customer service. He is very knowledgeable about everything from products and application to color schemes. DeVries offers excellent service at a reasonable price.

The entire painting crew was very professional and worked very efficiently. Josh has excellent ideas regarding paint colors and he knows what will and what will not work. He uses excellent paint products to ensure long lasting results. The crew responded promptly to our questions and special requests. Our home has multiple levels with hard to reach areas. The crew was careful to respect our property. This is the second time, last time was 2009, we used Devries Custom Painting and they did a superb job again. As expected, we will need to clean our windows from water spots due to the power washing.

It was wonderful! Joshua and his crew are truly professional. From the preliminary planning meeting to the final cleanup, Devries Custom Painting takes care of every detail. We wanted the kitchen, great room and two bedrooms painted as well as repairs and painting outside - garage door and trim and a piece of window trim replaced. Joshua helped us in picking out colors and in making some 'artistic' accents that we wouldn't have thought of, but that made the rooms 'pop'. The painters arrived on time every day, worked hard while they were here, cleaned up nicely and were wonderful people to have in our home. The painting and repairs are superb. Really have nothing but positives to say. I highly recommend Devries Custom Painting.

I cannot recommend Joshua Devries and his crew enough. They were simply outstanding, from beginning to end. I needed to work around window repairs, and Josh was incredibly helpful, sending his guys back to paint the last few windows a week after they had completed painting the rest of the house. From starting with pressure washing, to pointing out a few repairs that were needed (and charging very little, if anything, for them), to quickly and professionally painting the house (using brushes where appropriate), they really did an outstanding job. His crew, led by Tino, was always friendly and professional. It's probably been over ten years since we have painted our house, and choosing the color was intimidating to me. I knew I wanted a change, but it's so hard to pick colors from those little color swatches from the paint store. Josh not only made recommendations, but he mixed up different colors and put them on the house to help me decide. As I told my husband, after over fifteen years of living here, I am finally happy with the color of my house! That's a huge advantage of using Josh, in my estimation. Too many painters just tell you to pick a color, and then you are stuck with it. He has a very good eye for color. We felt as though his prices were pretty typical for the market, but his service and quality and product far exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend Devries Custom Painting. You simply won't be able to beat the customer service and value for the final product.

Joshua Devries and his entire team were a class act from start to finish. I have hired 3 other companies to paint different interior rooms of my home in the past couple of years. I was unhappy with all of them. I went on a mission to find a painter who was as interested as me in providing a high quality end result and work experience. I turned to Angie's List and mainly just looked at the reviews of many different providers. The reviews of Devries Custom Painting stood out. I kept seeing the phrase, "attention to detail" "professional" and "reliable". I asked Joshua to come and look at our home and to give us a quote to clean, prep and paint the exterior. I was impressed with his knowledge and professional manner. His quote came in higher than the other one I had- but I knew that was taking into account the higher quality of work that I would receive. We hired Devries Custom Painting and were happy from start to finish. The entire team working on the job were professional and so detail oriented. Even my handyman who was at my house one day while they were working, pointed out to me some areas that the prep work being done was above and beyond anything he had seen before. The crew was so hard working, polite, easy to communicate with and took obvious pride in the job they were doing. Joshua was a constant presence, answering questions, instructing his crew, pointing out things to improve on, giving me advice and keeping me updated. When the job was finished he walked through with me and made sure everything was done to our satisfaction- and it was!! What a pleasure as a customer to finally have an experience where expectations are not only met, but exceeded. I also want to give a special mention to Oscar, who was my point person every day working and was an absolute pleasure! This firm is the best. The painters were on time every day and worked about 9 to 10 hours each day until the job was completed. they completely washed the exterior, repaired all loose boards, recaulked where needed, covered all windows with plastic, painted the trim and finally painted the entire surface of home. They were extremely neat, cleaned up the area after each days work and Mr. Devries inspected the final work and touched up flaws that he saw. In addition he repainted the lamp post. I recommend this firm highly and would use them again without hesitation.

Devries Painting did a wonderful job on our home. They were extremely responsive and professional. Joshua was very helpful in selecting the colors and educating us on the painting process. He and the workers were polite and friendly. The quality of the work was great and they completed the job very quickly. Joshua was great in keeping open communication throughout the process. It was very clear they put the customer first. We will be using Devries in the future for any further painting jobs at our home. Highly recommend!

They did a repair to a water leak in my garage on the vaulted finished ceiling. THey also painted our bathroom. They did a great job. We have used them int he past before and have always been satisfied. They go out of their way to make you happy.
