Devries Custom Painting

This is the second time I have used DeVries Painting. Joshua was able to get us scheduled quickly. Tino did the bulk of the work. Notice how many repeat customers DeVries has.

I just called Joshua about refinishing our front doors. Unfortunately, I needed the project done right away so he could not take the job but stayed on the phone and gave me great advise about door refinishing. I will definitely use him in the future!

We have used Joshua as our painter for about 12 years. When we decided to finish the interior of the house (8 rooms/hallways) we knew that Joshua would give us a great quote, start the project, clean the area every day before leaving, and make sure we were satisfied with the final results. Devries painting was a great company to work with. Josh gave us ideas on what colors would best suit our house. The workers were prompt, worked hard and cleaned up when they finished up for the day. Everything about this experience was positive. A large crew--which arrived punctually--got the entire job done in a single day. The work was done efficiently and with impeccable professional results. Josh is a perfectionist so there was never any question of the quality of the work. There were numerous areas around the house that needed touch-up work--Josh and I went over all of this, in detail, in advance so no time would be lost the day the work was to be performed. There were a number of areas where wood trim needed to be reinforced or replaced and this was done exactly as explained. The work on the deck was exceptional. The deck itself is huge, and is difficult to work with given that there's a wooden bench built into a substantial part of the structure. But the workmen carefully tarped off the area so none of the spray of the stain/sealant would extend beyond its intended location. The workmanship was exceptional and met an exacting standard. When the job was done the crew members thoroughly cleaned up after themselves. I not only wouldn't hesitate to hire DeVries Painting again, I heartily recommend this company to anyone who needs exterior or interior painting work done. Josh has worked on my home--inside and out--on a number of occasions and I have never been even slightly disappointed in the work or the service provided.

They were great company to work with. They did extra work that they didn't charge for. I was pleased with the finish product and have had no problems since. They were professional and on time. Cleaned up well and the house looks great. I would use him again in the future.

We thought it was a good price. He did an excellent job. It wasn't slap dash and he didn't hurry. He didn't put on a coat and wait 30 minutes later and put on another coat. He waited a couple of days so it had time to dry. He did a beautiful job. We would certainly use him again.

I called Joshua on a Saturday morning and told him what we needed. I asked if it were possible to have the deck restained by the following Sunday, so he came out two hours later, to accommodate me. He was very honest, told me that the boards that had recently been replaced should really not be stained for another few months. He also explained the process of removing the stain that was there and repainting with new stain. He even looked through all our cans of paint and stain to see if he could use what was leftover from previous work on the house, to save us money on the job. In the end, we decided to listen to his advice and wait for the boards to be properly weathered. But the fact that Joshua was professional and honest, and told us what was best for the deck rather than what would make him money, definitely caused me to greatly respect him. And he was willing to start work on that weekend, Saturday and Sunday, to accommodate my request to have it finished by the following Sunday. I will definitely call Joshua when the deck is ready to be stained, and will call him if we ever need any other painting done inside or outside our house.

The owner used to inspect timely and ensure things were done fine. The crew did a good job. I paid $4000 for painting and $1400 for wood repair. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

Joshua came out in the late Spring to give me an estimate to paint the exterior trim on my home. He explained in great detail the techniques that they would use. I was impressed with his knowledge and attention to detail. I confirmed with him in early July that I wanted him to do the work. He was pretty booked by that point, so it was the end of August before the work was performed. His men came one week to power wash the areas that were to be painted. They came back about a week later and did the painting. The two men worked hard and kept me informed of their progress and any issues that came up. They did discover a rotted window sill. Josh called with the cost to repair it, which was very reasonable. The men finished the job in about three days. I am very pleased with the work and would definitely use them again.

The owner made good suggestions and recommendations. We are very pleased with the results.

I really liked him. He was very knowledgeable because I really quizzed him about paints that Consumer Reports had, and I was impressed with how much he really knew about paints. He followed up with some touchup spots very quickly. I would use him again in the future if necessary.

The project ran smoothly for the four days that DeVries Painting were here. Whenever I noticed a mar on the woodwork, they would happily repair it and touch it up with paint. We never felt like we were a bother to the crew. Joshua lhas very creative ideas on how to solve decorating challenges.

The process began with contacting Devries/Joshua through Angies List, soliciting a quote from their company, as I did with 4 other firms. His quote was in the middle, the way Joshua explained the way he and his company would do the job was very good, so was one other contractor (his price was $1K higher). Work was scheduled, Joshua and his crews arrived and worked until complete, doing a good job of working around bad weather - many days of rain.

Joshua and his crew painted our front door and shutters. Joshua suggested a different way of painting our front door that I never would have thought of. He said that by painting the smaller windows around the door would make the whole entryway stand out more. I wasn't sure and he said that if I didn't like it they would paint it back at no charge. He was right. The door definitely stands out more and we really like it. Joshua and his crew are very professional, curteous, and friendly. We have used them several times and they always do an outstanding job.

We've used Devries Paining several times. They always do an outstanding job. This time Joshua and his crew painted several rooms in our new house. They are very professional and do a great job. Before painting, they do any patching that needs to be done. Joshua is very particular and makes sure everything is done perfectly. At the end of each day, the crew cleans up so there is no mess. We highly recommend them and feel their price is very fair.

Devries does a wonderful job. He does a perfect job, everything is perfect. He is quick, on time, and reasonably priced. His workers are very good as well. He does the right thing and does not cut corners.

He takes a couple of weeks to do the work but only because he performs the work very thoroughly! He primes, paints and repairs very meticulously. He is able to provide suggestions that you would never have thought of. You never saw any mess, he cleaned up every day after work.
