He looked at the chimneys and said for the best finished job that I needed to call someone who is an expert in stucco. I didn't realize that would be an issue. I really valued the fact that he didn't just say he could do it to get the job. He also looked at some trim work that needed repair and paint and offered to come back another time for an estimate for that - after the most immediate need is fixed.

Everything was excellent. I have used him in the past and I will use him again in the future.

Joshua was great all the way through. Very honest and up front about the process and all extra things that had to be done. He was great and we will use him for all interior and exterior painting in the future.

Josh and his workers did a good job on the house, deck and fence. We received estimates from three different vendors. Josh was the middle of the road. He was very informative on the work he was going to conduct. He explained how he was going to do it and the materials he would use. Because of this (and the online reviews) we decided to go with Josh. We were most concerned about our deck and fence since they were old and not taken care of very well. The crew came out on a Saturday and power washed the whole house, deck and fence. The next week they were out on Friday and worked the weekend due to the threat of rain in the forecast. By the end of the weekend everything looked beautiful. Josh came out and made sure everything was touched up appropriately and offered advice for regular maintenance to reduce costs going forward. Since we were concerned about the deck he even offered to come out next year free of charge and touch up as necessary to make sure his job lasts.

If you are looking for a quality and professional painter, look no further than Joshua. He was very quick to return my calls and came almost immediately to give an estimate for the work. On the day of the work he arrived on-time and was very courteous. He was done in no time at all and did a great job cleaning up and putting things back int heir original place. He went over the work he performed with me and explained what he did very clearly. I will for sure use Joshua for all future painting, this was a fast, affordable and excellent experience.

I've used Josh several times in the past. As always he and his crew did excellent work. They work quickly and meticulously. Josh is very professional and makes sure I'm pleased with the work when he's finished. Josh preps the walls before painting and it looks fantastic when done. I had some areas of drywall that needed patched and Josh was able to do that and paint it. It looked good as new again. I'll definitely be calling him for our next project.

Working with Joshua was a wonderful experience from start to finish. He provided detailed explanations every step of the way. The Prep work our house needed was extensive and Joshua made sure we knew exactly what needed to be done. Some areas needed repair and extra TLC. He has a wonderful crew. We have never had a painter that has the knowledge he has. He helped me choose the colors, he is truly an Artist! He suggested we put Shutters on the Front and they add so much to the finished look! He wanted us to have the WOW factor and we certainly do! The deck turned out great also. I really look forward to having other work done in the future. Joshua goes above and beyond. My house looks BEAUTIFUL!

The service turned out great. He explained to me what he was doing throughout the entire service. He was very professional and courteous. He sent me an email that said everything they would. They were prompt to the appointment and I would use them again.

Joshua is very professional and takes great pride in his work. He always explains in detail how they are going to do the job and he uses quality products. He was extremely helpful to me in selecting colors. For our home's exterior, he came up with a selection of siding, trim and shutter colors that really complements our brick and makes it look like a totally different (new!) house. When prepping to paint the siding, his crew found that many of the wood boards that bordered between the siding and brick were warped and when they removed them, they found about a 2" gap between the brick and siding. They removed all the boards from around the entire house, filled in the gap with 2x4s and replaced with new boards. Josh's crew is quiet, friendly and polite and they clean up after themselves every day. Josh comes by daily to check on the work and did most of the punch list work himself. He also offered to refinish our front wood door and it looks great. The interior work was also done extremely well. They painted our dining room and sunroom a couple of years ago and just this spring, they painted our laundry room, mudroom and pantry. They spray-painted the entire pantry so it had good, even coverage and Josh even measured, cut and laid some rubber shelf-liner to protect the shelves from scratches from cans, etc. We love working with Josh and will definitely use him again; however, he does such a good job we probably won't need him for a long time unless we want to make a color change!

The service was excellent. Joshua, the owner, was very detailed and meticulous. The prep work and siding replacement was the bulk of the experience taking several days out of his schedule. He put in a few weekends, including Sundays. He has a keen eye for house color based on his many years of experience. I trusted his paint choice based on the stone siding color. He uses a very durable exterior Porter paint with a satin sheen that makes the home "pop out". His team was punctual and courteous. He cleaned up daily. His price is on the higher end but as the adage goes, "you get what you pay for". We had our home painted by another company only 6 years ago but the service lacked proper prep and attention to detail causing the siding to peel and rot. Now that Joshua has completed the project, the paint should last much longer with the proper upkeep and touch ups with his ongoing direction. We have had many compliments on the end product. We have used Joshua for interior paint jobs as well. We will continue to use him for all our painting needs!

Josh provided professional opinions on some of our issues and provided prompt service. The work was excellent and my wife and I are very pleased with this job. We would clearly use his services again!

We had a couple of Angie's List quotes, and Joshua's was right in the ballpark. Based on our good past experience with Joshua compared to several poor experiences with other painters, we decided to use him again. As an aside, we had used Joshua about 7 years ago to paint the outside of our house. At the time we had that done, Joshua talked us in to using an exterior egg shell paint instead of flat. I was hesitant at first, but went with his recommendation. Our house turned out absolutely great. The egg shell paint has looked great and held up well. Rain seems to wash off the dirt, and our house looks freshly painted even years later when the sun shines on it. I had tried several other painters in the past, but none were as thorough and knowledgeable as Josh. Back to our current job, it went very well. Josh had his two partners working with him. They were very good painters too. This job lasted several days. At the end of each day, they cleaned up all of their equipment and then vacuumed and swepped our floors were they were working. They would also let us know when to expect them the next day. Many times Joshua's guys were working at our house without Josh around. He would come by each day to give them direction and to see if we had any questions or concerns. Josh did most of the dry wall repairs himself, and he hung the towel bars (which he got nice and straight). Josh's guys were good, but I wished Josh were working at our house more than he did. (We are assuming he was working another job himself while his guys mainly worked out our house.) We plan on getting the exterior of our house painted again this Spring after we have windows repaired. I plan on getting a quote from Joshua for this work.

I highly recommend this company and would absolutely hire them again! Joshua DeVries knows what he is doing and takes great pride in what he does. He and his crew are punctual and professional. They are very detailed oriented, they know the right products for each job; what paint to use, caulking, scraping, priming, and washing. They also clean up at the end of every day right down to the smallest paint scrape. Joshua is quite knowledgeable, he helped me pick colors even though I had no plan to change mine- I did, and I'm very happy I did. He knows the products and has a great eye for color. Joshua is on the job daily with his crew, he explains everything they are doing or going to do and what you should expect. They exceeded my expectations. Quality and customer service are a priority with this company and they deliver. Again, I highly recommend DeVries Custom Painting.

This is the second time I have used Devries. I called for a quote and the owner, Joshua, came out and listened to what I wanted done and then he explained how he would do the job and materials he recommends. He also offered additional touches that I didn't think about. Joshua is very easy to work with and not trying to sell me something I don't need or want. Joshua was on site when the work was done and made sure the work was done at a very high standard. Devries not only had the lowest quote but the service and quality of work was outstanding. I would highly recommend Devries for any painting need.

They try very hard to please they customer. I just couldn't do the windows physically, so they did them for me & it's wasn't at a high price. I just can't say enough good things about them!

Josh Devries is a class act. I have used Angies List for 10 years and three remodels. Most of my providers have been from Angies List. Even though dozens of these providers have been Super Service Award winners like Josh, few compare to Josh. He knows colors like a designer and strives for perfection. He listens well to your desires, yet gives input if you ask. Heis honest about how long it will take to get to your job too. He starts your job when he says he will. He shops the best prices and passes on his discounts to you, the customer. His prices are middle of the road - but his quality begs for a higher price. Quite honestly, I wouldnt go anywhere else. It will be a sad day when Josh quits painting, but being a late 30's guy, I dont think that will be anytime soon! Use him once, and you will be looking for what he can paint next!

initially contacted DEVRIES PAINTING for a quote at the end of July. We had someone lined up through Angie's List but had a bad experience with follow through i.e. late on initial appointment...and once that was worked through did not show to sign the contract. I explained all of this to Josh and that evening he was over giving a quote. We were pleased thinking this person is diffiently on the ball. We contacted him a few days later to say it is a go and he told us it would be 3 weeks out or so before he could squeeze us in. We didn't hear from him for 3 weeks so we recontacted stating we would like to know approximately what number we were on the list of jobs and he said to send in 10% and he would call us when they had some time to start on at least power washing. Another four weeks had past and no conversation was had in terms of when he might be able to get to us. We understood he is a small company and as he said very particular about his work we knew it would be a bit, but we wanted to be in the loop. Unfortunately when I spoke with him he did not apologize or give a reason for not keeping us informed only to say it is the customers responsibility to contact him which my husband and I both had done. He also said he never knows how long a job ahead will take and he would not know that. Needless to say, we are still needing our home painted and felt like this person was not professional and concerned about us as customers. I asked for our deposit back which was delivered the second day. It really is a shame, here it is late September and because of poor communication, and commitment we will be going another few seasons with out a good paint job!

Joshua is just an amazing professional. I wish all craftsmen were so reliable, meticulous and honest. Joshua has painted other parts of our home twice before so I knew the quality of work he does. Even with that, I got 2 other estimates for this job. Both companies are listed on Angie's List but came in much higher, one was almost twice the price. To make our life simpler and the job go faster, we asked Joshua to do the work while we on vacation. Yes, he is that trustworthy. Before we left, he did not ask me to do anything to prepare for their work; he assured me they would take care of everything. We came home to not only a beautifully done job, but there was not a single thing out of place. Joshua explained the process he would use to repaint the trim and windows and suggested a paint that would adhere better to the existing oil-based paint. It was a more expensive paint but completely worth it. I'm not sure that anyone could tell that our windows and trim had been repainted.

I had 4 quotes from different companies, but Josh was the only one that actually sat down with me and explained in detail what his company could do for my home. Josh was professional and his proposal was detailed. Josh has experience and his quote was cost effective.The workmen were prompt and did an excellent job cleaning up every day. I needed some home repairs and Josh's carpenter did an amazing job reparing siding, gutters, and trim. I am especially happy with the painting and new screens on my screened-in porch. It was excellent. He helped us pick the colors. We had a color picked out and he let us know that there might be better options with our brick and the neighborhood. We had concerns during the application but as it progressed we became very excited about it. We have had tons of complements on it and we are very happy with it. Their preparation work was very noteworthy. They have went way beyond what other people have done. They were very conscientious about doing it right the first time. Extra effort was put in to make sure that everything was ready before they started.

Joshua Devries is his name. When we moved we changed the color of our house, and we just set him free and he changed the color so well. He chooses colors very well and he will tell you what will look good and what won't look good. He is very neat and tidy. He never leaves anything a mess. He always vacuums.

In a five day time span, Joshua DeVries' 2-man crew worked diligently power washing our home and shed, expertly caulked and scraped needed areas and primed and painted everything. They were constantly working in 80 & 90 degree heat and did a fantastic job precisely painting trim, metal window frames and siding (2 tones) along with Mr. DeVries painting our front door a 3rd color and sanding our brass knob and scroll work. They were very careful with our shrubs and flower beds.We are so pleased with the outcome, and with Mr. DeVries' assistance with the color schemes.We would highly recommend Mr. DeVries and his crew and would not hesitate to call him in the future.

We received 3 quotes for painting the exterior of our home. We knew we wanted to change the color from a very dark gray to a much lighter color, but wasn't exactly sure what color we wanted. The owner of the company, Joshua Devries, came out very quickly after my initial call and gave us an estimate on the spot. What I liked most about Joshua, and one of the main reasons we hired his company, is because it was obvious from the first meeting that quality and customer service were his first priorities and that he wasn't your "run of the mill" painter (very knowledgeable about types of paint, colors, etc). Immediately when he walked up to our house, he suggested two-tone or three-tone paint would enhance the beauty of our house. He also was the only company we got a bid from that would help us pick the colors. This was done not just by a small paint chip, but by painting large areas of our house so we could see what it would really look like on the house. Joshua knows his business and colors so well, that we gave him just a general sense of what color we wanted to change to and the very first colors they put up as a sample were perfect and looked great with our brick. So after confirming our choice of colors, his crew (himself and 2 others) proceeded with the house. The powerwashing, scraping, repair work of a few rotted boards and 2 coats of paint were done in a week. They worked long days and did an excellent job cleaning up at the end of each day. Joshua prides himself with his quality and customer satisfaction. In fact, when the work was complete, I wasn't completely happy with the color of the back door, so he came back and painted to a different color at no extra charge. I highly recommend Devries Painting!

I recently put the painting of my porch, soffit, fascia, gables, garage, chimney top, gutters, downspouts and front door up for bid. Out of four quotes requested, one was from Devries Painting. My main point of contact was the owner, Joshua Devries, who came out, took a look at the condition of the house and provided me with a quote on the spot. Although I elected to use another company (due solely to scheduling convenience), Devries Painting was a standout company. I met with Joshua on two separate occasions and was very impressed both times with his honesty, professional knowledge, product knowledge and customer service skills. I had no doubt in my mind that I could trust Devries Painting to do a stellar job and to do it to my satisfaction. Although I cannot attest to the quality of Devries' work from personal experience, I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who is in need of painting services.
