Michael was very prompt, courteous and professional - he works by himself and completed the entire job, I did not have to be there, I only came at the very end. he explained the whole system - I was amazed that he installed all new tracks a brand new door and a complete motor with 2 remotes which he programmed already for me - all for $1100! he really takes pride in his work so the job is done well. you cannot beat this - you won't find a deal or a job this well done anywhere!

Mike did a great job, also doing some reinforcing of the structure of my old garage. I was very pleased with his work. He was on time and very professional.

First, Mike with A Complete Door Service did an awesome job replacing our garage door and I would highly recommend his services to anyone. Our detached garage is at least 50 years old. It had 3 problems: 1) it wasn't built quite square; 2) the southern side is rotting at the base due to water that pools on the sidewalk to the alley; and 3) the garage door rail was attached to a 2"x4" that connected the rail to the inside of the garage and that piece of wood had separated from the garage. So, the garage door would only open 3 feet. It was a HEAVY wood garage door that was about 10 inches too big for the opening (Mike pointed this out and explained there weren't as many size choices back then). Also, because of the garage problems and the weight of the door, the garage door opener hadn't really worked in about 10 years. I called Mike to ask about fixing the garage door, so that it would at least open the way it did before. Within a day or two, he was out to take a look. We knew it would be difficult to fix and actually hated the door because it was so hard to open. After evaluating the situation, he suggested a new garage door, fully installed, and removal of the old garage door for what we thought was a very reasonable price. He also assured us that he was certain that the garage door opener would actually work if we got rid of the old door. He provided a garage door brochure and were able to select garage door colors on the spot. Even so, he encouraged us to shop his competition. We decided not to shop around because Mike was so responsive, a great communicator, clearly knew his stuff, provided a cost-effective solution, and didn't try to sell us more than we needed. He was flexible about scheduling and within a few more days, he came out to do the install. Due to the garage door opening, which isn't exactly even on both sides, he had to make adjustments on the fly and I know it took him quite a bit longer than a straight forward installation on a newer garage. As promised, he hauled away the old garage door and even made sure to sweep the inside of the garage to make sure there weren't any bolts, etc. that might cause a problem for our car tires when we parked. Lastly, because I couldn't find the garage door opener remote (for the 10+ year old opener), he was even able to provide a universal remote for my garage door opener manufacturer and program it on the spot. They're not hard to program, but he saved me from having to figure it out and we were able to use the garage door opener right away--which worked just fine with the new door just as he said. The garage door looks great and we've received compliments from our neighbors. All in all, we were very pleased with his service, professionalism and approach.

Contacted Mike to inquire about replacing the existing loud chain drive openers with a quieter solution. He recommended the Liftmaster 8355, which also include security and remote management features. The installation included one large (8x16) double garage door as well as an equally tall single door. Mike arrived promptly for the appointment and installation took approximately 2 hours. He has also offered to come back for any follow up that may be necessary.

Mike O'Dea replied to my phone call within 30 minutes of having placed it and agreed to come to our home the following day, Saturday, to repair our garage door. Throughout the winter, our garage door would, intermittently, go partially down and then would return to the upright position. Mike came promptly at the appointed time, was quick and thorough in diagnosing the problem with our electric eye, and completely fixed this problem to our satisfaction. Mike responded to my Angie's List request for an estimate within 45 minutes of my sending it one evening. Due to the cold weather and a broken garage door opener, I was eager to get a quick response. Mike agreed to come a couple days later on a Wednesday when I would be home. His willingness to communicate via text was helpful because it provide quick responses to short questions. Mike arrived around 1pm even though we had said "morning", but he did respond to my requests for updated ETA pretty quickly. When he arrived, it was clear that Mike can quickly size up a problem with garage doors and openers, and he started assessing my issue posthaste. My garage door opener motor was working, but nothing was happening with the chain. By the look of the springs and when he lifted the door manually, Mike determined the springs were old and no longer assisting the motor much and that's why the gear was probably stripped. He offered to replace the springs and put a torsion system in its place, which is much better than the old side springs for balancing the door and giving the opener proper lift assistance. He also gave me two options for the opener - he could fix it for $150 or replace it for $300. He recommended the latter because if the fix failed (the gear got stripped again), I'd have thrown away the first $150. He left and I did some research, and decided to fix the opener myself for the cost of parts, and if that didn't work, I'd have him replace the opener anyway. I decided to have him install the new springs, because that should keep the gears from being ruined again by keeping the weight off the opener. His quote of $300 beat the competition so I scheduled him to come the following week. Mike arrived when he said he would and hit the ground running. I think he can install the torsion springs in his sleep if he had to. He also made an adjustment to the bottom door rollers, advised on how to keep the system working in good shape, assessed my repair job on the opener, finished putting the chain back and reassembled opener case, and explained what he was doing each step of the way (because I ask a lot of questions). He also warranted the springs for 5 years as well as the existing door. The whole process took less than an hour, and he did the job with a smile. I am very happy with Mike's service and I would definitely recommend him to others!

I had purchased a new garage door from Mike during this past year. I had a problem with the garage door opener not closing properly. Mike came out and fixed the problem, which had nothing to do with the installation of the new door, and as a courtesy did not charge for the service. Mike is very professional and is great to his customers. I highly recommend his company.

Our garage door broke and we were unable to open and in particular get our cars out. I called and Mike responded and showed up within 2 hours. He got the door open so we could get our cars out and provided an estimate. After doing some research it was clear the estimate was fair. Mike had the new door within several days. He removed the old door and installed the new one quickly and efficiently. Since than the door is working fine.. Mike showed up on time and stayed in touch by phone when necessary. Garage door has been slowly failing over last couple of years. We had continued to use company who serviced the door prior to our ownership of the house. They "serviced" the door several times over last few years when we had trouble. Mike was on-site that day to check the door. Provided options (with costs) to either repair or replace - recommended a replacement of full door system (not opener). After giving go ahead, Mike replaced door within 2 days despite extremely cold weather. We're very happy not to have to wonder if the door will open each time we click the button. Mike was extremely responsive and easy to deal with when I first made contact. He promised me a quick price and he delivered. We had to reschedule when the door he wanted to install was damaged. A few days later, he came and installed the door, hardware and opener when he said he would. The door would not close properly and did not reach the garage floor. I had to tell him twice to adjust the door so it would close properly. A few weeks later I noticed that he did not install weather stripping on the sides of the door. When I called him back about the weatherstripping, he became very rude and defensive. I was shocked he hung up on me. I would never recommend him or his company to anyone. He's one of those guys that tells you what you want to hear but refuses to do a complete job or back up his work.

After one call, Mike came out and gave me an estimate. I liked the quote and then I had to go back and forth with Mike to get an installation date that would work for both of us due lack of availability on my end. Mike always responded immediately and accommodated my schedule. I'll make my review of the work performed simple: Mike was the consummate professional. He's very experienced in his trade and knows garage doors. He made great recommendations up front for better hardware, so there were no surprises. His work was clean. He was fast but not hasty. He answered any and all of my questions during the install. To top it all off, the price was very good. I really don't know what else one can expect from a door service company. I would hire A Complete Door Service again and would definitely recommend them to family and friends.

Mike came out immediately when called today. He knew over the phone exactly what was wrong. I didnt even have to go into detail. He came right out to the house and targeted the problem and immediately fixed everything that went wrong.
