A Complete Door Service

Super quick, super easy, even did some extras at no additional cost.

I came out in the morning to leave for work and couldn't get the garage door to open and my car was inside. It was my last workday before a 2 week vacation and I desperately needed to get to the office. Mike's reviews were good so I called and left a message for him. He called back in a very short time and said he'd be out in a couple of hours. True to his word, he was out when he said he would be. He saw that the problem was a broken spring and that trying to open the door had cracked the top of the door, which had no support. He did not have the size spring I needed but opened the door so I could get out. He said he would pick up a new spring for me and return the next afternoon. He showed up the next morning, replaced the spring and added support to the top of the door. He was fast, professional, and courteous! I would definitely call him again.

Mike gave me a quote and came back the following day with a new door. He removed my heavy old wooden door and replaced it with a high quality insulated steel door. My existing door opener was still working fine so he just reconnected it. He finished in about 3 hours which he said was a little long due to my old door being such a "monster" (the old, waterlogged wooden door must have weighed over 600 pounds). When he was done, he cleaned up and left the garage area neater than when he arrived. I had made a couple of calls and his price was at least $200 less than anyone else for a comparable quality product. I would recommend him without reservation to anyone needing a new garage door.

After replacing the door, I started experiencing issues. When opening and closing the door, the door would rub up against the frame, causing scuffing and scratching. Mike would place the blame on everything else except himself. He would tell me that it's the way my garage is built that is causing the issue. Side note...you could walk up and down my neighborhood and everyone has the same door and no one has this issue on their garage. After he tinkered a few times, he claims it was fixed. It never was and the scratching continued. Finally, Mike said that he would replace the track with one that had a different turning radius. He did that and said the issue was resolved. A day after he replaced the track, the door stopped going up and down because the opener ripped off the 2x4 that held it up. Again, he says that it wasn't his fault. Now, I have a dented and scratched garage door and he refuses to come out and fix it. For some reason, he has decided to place the blame on me. He wrote this email to me at 12:12am today: I have done all and everything I can do for You under warranty. If you want to change damaged sections due to the latest mishap which was no fault of mine it will cost $195 per section. I have made every effort and all to make You happy which included 8 trips out to your house at no charge. in 18 years of being in business I have had maybe 6 call backs. always fixed after the second trip. I have never had a client as unhappy as You. I dont have any other answers for You. I have bent over backwards for You. At this point I am done. All I wanted was him to fix the issues that he created.

I received an estimate on Sunday 3/3 and the work was performed during the blizzard on 3/5 because he thought it would be good for me to be able to park in the garage during the huge snow storm. The work was done while I was at work and I returned home to a garage as clean as I left it and a brand new, functioning garage door. He also called the following day 3/6 to make sure I was satisfied with the work performed, which I very much was.

Our garage door opener was not working and the obvious fixes didn't do the trick. The company sent someone the same day and kept us informed as to when the tech would arrive. He was able to diagnose the unusual problem quickly and fix it. He even showed my husband how to program the remote opener in his car which the manual had stated was not possible due to the age of the opener. we would definitely use them again.

The service and professionalism was exceptional. Mike was on time and the cost was exactly what he estimated. My tenant emailed me that the door opened and closed perfectly. One happy tenant means one happy landlord. I would recommend Mike to anyone.

Called on Monday and was able to talk to a person - not an answering machine or voicemail box. Very good. Contractor explained why the torsion spring system was better but was willing replace the broken extension spring if that's what I wanted. They arrived on time the next day and finished the job promptly. Door works well and has a two-year warranty.

We were please at how quickly Michael came out to evaluate the situation. He went over our options and provided us with his reccomendations. We elected for a new, better fitting door. Michael did the work himself, quickly and professionally handling the installation, and fixing an intermittent probelm we were having with our garage door opener. After completing the installation, Michael carefully swept out our garage, leaving it neater than he found it! We were very pleased with the work.

We got a estimate and a few days later the work was done.

Replaced two chain driven garage door openers and accessories. The installer was very courteous and professional. He noticed a potential problem with the electrical service to our old openers and made his recommendations and the their cost. I felt he was more than fair and had the repairs made. I was very happy A Complete Door Service and would recommend them highly to family and friends.

The contractor showed up on time, installed the doors professionally, then collected payment. Easy.

Our garage door cable broke and that is our primary entrance/exit to our house so we needed it fixed soon. We called A Complete Door service and they were able to come out the next day.

Of course when he arrived the door worked fine but he took the time to check it all out and found out why it hadn't been working. The former owners of this house had smothered the thing in a heavy grease which shouldn't be uses on garage door openers. When it got cold, it hardened enough to stop the mechanisim. He checked the whole contraption over and found one of the rails was loose so he tightened that up and cleaned some of the grease out. It is impossible to get that grease out, we have been trying since we moved in - they really messed it up. Since the door was actually working he charged me a fraction of his fee. He also gently explained that the door opener probably won't last long. He is correct, we can see that. We will definitly hire him to replace it when the time comes.

The quality of work was very good. They cleaned up after themselves.

I have used the Company before, and as usual, they were very responsive and came out the next day for the repair. In addition, they explained that our door was old and likely needs replacement in the near term. Will definitely have them install a new door and opener in the future.

I called late on Saturday, and Mike came over for a review first thing Monday. He was thorough in his explanation, and pointed out a few existing problems that I might consider addressing down the road. He wasn't pushy -- just very knowledgeable. We agreed on a date and time. He came in UNDER estimate in both time on the job and cost. He was done in LESS than an hour! He guaranteed his work, and I'll gladly use him again, if the need arises.

Mike was very prompt, courtious, and gave detailed information about the problem, a how to fix it. the repairs were completed in less than 1 hour. I would call Mike again, and highly recomend him.

Called company. Left message. Got return call within an hour. Work completed next day. Owner kept me updated throught the entire process. Would call them again.

Everything went smooth. I would use again in a heartbeat.

We have 2 heavy duty double width garage doors. The springs on one of the doors snapped, putting half of the garage out of commission. We contacted Mike at A Complete after finding him on Angie's List. He was able to come out the next day (Monday), and inspect the door. He had to order the springs, which he did, and then installed them when they were delivered. He also lubed both the broken door as well as our other door. Everything is working fine now. We appreciated the thorough service, as well as his getting out to us on short notice to get our garage back in service as soon as possible.

My garage door sensor appeared broken so I contacted the Company. My responded promtply via email and we coordinated a convienient time within a day or two. Mike arrived promptly and explained exactly what the issue was. It was a relatively simple repair, and he was done quickly. He also helped to program the garage door opener to our new car.

Mike answered my initial call promptly. We set a date and he arrived as scheduled. He performed the necessary work professionally, suggested other maintenance to prolong the life of the garage door, and did not try to sell me unnecessary services.

My garage door opener stopped functioning. It was an old Genie that a homeowner can purchase at Home Depot or Menards. Mike stated that it was likely a circuit board or something like that, but it would probably cost around $100 to purchase the new circuit board with no guarantee that it would fix the problem. The garage door opener itself was probably 15 -20 years old anyway. He quoted me a price to purchase and install a new Liftmaster garage door opener with 2 remotes for $325 on 9/27/2011. I asked him when he would be able to install the new garage door opener, and he said tomorrow (9/28/2011). After he left, I was looking at the brochure that he provided and saw an external wireless/keyless entry was also available. I called Mike and asked him how much additional it would be to install this extra. He quoted me $45 to purchase and install. He arrived on 9/28/2011, took out the old garage door opener, and did the entire installation in less than an hour. The price seemed reasonable, and the quality of the work was good. I don't think his prices are the cheapest (or the most expensive), but I've learned that going with the cheapest bid isn't always a good thing. I'd prefer to pay a little extra to make sure that I am getting a quality product with quality installation.
