+ -1 moreHe was police, professional, and identified the problem immediately. Part of the thermocouple was not in the correct position and he adjusted it. Then he told us that that there would be no charge! What a great buy. You can be sure we will call him for our next plumbing project! He's is the most responsive service person we have ever dealt with!
Description of Work: We had a problem with our water heater. We had initially tried to fix it ourselves but were unsuccessful. We finally called Mike Beltrami and he came out within a couple of hours. He told us what was wrong and immediately fixed the problem.

+ -1 moreI was very pleased with the whole experience. I called in the morning and Mike and his assistant, Matt, arrived at 3:00 the same day. They were finished by 4:15. Mike was honest, prompt, and professional. I received a 20% Angie's List discount too. The final cost was less than the estimate which is always a plus! I would use him again.
Description of Work: Repaired a leaking pipe in the basement. My husband thought it could be soldered but Mike looked at it and determined it would be better to replace the whole piece.

Mike explained to me in detail what he was going to do and what equipment options I had and I got exactly what was expected with no surprises. The peace of mind I now have knowing my basement is protected with good equipment that was expertly installed is immeasurable.

+ -1 moreObtained 3 quotes from highly rated Angie's List plumbers. Mike discussed multiple solutions and proposed the lowest cost first. I appreciated he was thoughtful about the cost and he took time to thoroughly explain options. Mike and his apprentice arrived on time and were professional and courteous. They were also careful and completed the work successfully. Only disappointment was that final cost exceeded estimate by almost 100%. However, they did need to use a hand jackhammer to chip away some of the interior basement wall to allow for leverage when removing the old pipe. I believe that added to estimated time, but I thought that should have been considered in the original quote. He also did not give me the Angie's List discount that he applied to the estimate. Not sure why? However the price still seemed reasonable, but I would advise him to be a little more upfront and keep better records of his estimates.
Description of Work: Replaced section of copper/galvanized pipe from main water supply including main shutoff for home. A small leak was occurring where the the copper pipe attached to a newly installed pex pipe.

+ -1 moreIt was one of the best repair or construction experiences we have ever had and we have had many. I am completely satisfied for what we got for out money. If there is a contractors heaven this guy is going to have a place of honor reserved for him there.
Description of Work: came to fix all leaks and bursts in frozen pipes in 3 level home. I was nervous that with this kind of job I could not get estimates since the pipes had to be pressure tested etc just to find how big the job was. I was afraid we would be gauged. He actually charged the same price the inspector had allotted and that was after he found 3 other bursts that needed to be repaired in behind shower heads in the walls. He had to open all three walls, he and helper worked until the job was done - I think 10 hours or so. He came back for a couple little follow up things immediately. My husband said he was really pleasant. The insurance inspector had underpriced every job in the house so for him to come in below his price when he did not even have other plumbers he had to bid against was a really big deal. It made me feel like I was a very smart consumer to have found and chosen this company on angies list. You can trust this man.

The roofing company (BDR--see report on them) came and inspected it and said it was a plumbing problem with what appeared to be a leaking valve. I called a couple of plumbers and Mike responded very quickly offering to come right over. He crawled up into the attic and made the repair. All taken care of before 12:30 PM on the same day! Nice guy, too!
Description of Work: If we had to have a plumbing problem, Mike made it as painless as could be possible. What we were afraid would be a large repair issue, turned out to be a minor, easily fixed issue. He repaired it and was in and out in no time. As it turned out, just about one week later, one of the water pipes in our basement froze and burst. I felt so confident about hiring Mike to repair that. He came over as soon as he could get there and fixed it. His charge was fair; I felt confident that he would do a great job and also that he would not overcharge us.

+ 0 moreI called Mike to look at a leaky water heater in my basement. He recommended replacing it. I asked about the pro's and con's of tankless water heaters. He was very informative about the subject. I decided to go with a replacement(75 gallon tank)water heater; mainly due to the upfront costs. Mike said he could perform the service several days later. Mike showed up when scheduled with his assistant. They drained and removed the leaky water heater and installed the new replacement. They did an excellent job of getting the old water heater out and up the stairs, and the new water heater down the stairs and in without leaving a trace that they had done it. After the installation was complete, Mike showed me the new unit and explained its operation to me.
Description of Work: Mike replaced a leaky 75 gallon water heater in my basement.

Then he noticed that a pipe was leaking because the last plumber didn't install that right and he replaced a pipe and added the fitting that it needed, all at not extra cost to me. He was prompt, friendly, fast and did excellent work. I will continue to use him for my next plumbing problem.

He did a good job installing the new water heater and dealing with some unexpected problems (ie. having to replace pipes). I was surprised at the price being so high ($855 incl parts and labor), but after looking at Angie's List, I realized that the price was fair. This amount included the additional parts and labor required to fix the unexpected issues with our pipes. I would definitely recommend Mr. Beltrami and will use him in the future.
Description of Work: He removed our old water heater and replaced with one that he purchased. He also had to replace some pipes around the water heater.

They came the day I called, at a time convenient for me, to do an estimate (no charge). We had two other issues we talked to them about and they diagnosed the problems (not plumbing issues) for us.
