Mike returned a call early on his day off, on what was certain to have been a busy time due to bad weather and flooding in our region. He gave what seemed to be very solid advice about sump pump repair vs. replacement -- and made an appointment to come out and help us replace our old sump pump the same day (our basement was flooding). His service was everything one would look for in a professional plumber! Later when I researched the equipment he recommended and installed for my budget, I discovered that he gave me the best possible equipment and value there as well. I also saw firsthand how shot my very old pump and back-up was! I called him later to review options for installing an emergency back-up pump in the future and he was equally forthright and helpful. Waiting for the budget to do this with him. Very pleased.

Steve and his son, Steve, were very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. Our water pressure was more than twice the norm. When the job was done, they checked the neighbors' pressure free of charge. To get to the main water shutoff valve, they had to move the dryer and other stuff in the utility room. They then basically washed the floor and left the whole area cleaner than when they came! They were amazing! I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Installed a water pressure valve and changed location of main water shutoff valve. Also replaced both hot and cold shutoff valves under kitchen sink. The job ran into unforeseen difficulties so Steve and his son spent the better part of a day doing the jobs. Their final charge was in keeping with the initial estimate.

I called a few different companies when my 12 year old water company started leaking. I came across Steve & Mike on Angie's List and was very pleased with their high level of service and professionalism. I wasn't expecting them to come out the day I called but was pleasantly surprised that they came out within 2 hours, diagnosed the problem, and replaced the water heater. They also brought several things up to code and installed new ball valves. Overall, very pleasant experience and I plan on using them again for a backup sump pump installation.

They were pretty prompt and did a good job. They were quick and thorough and I was real happy with them. It was one of the jobs where I really didn't get a second opinion. These came in and did the job.
Description of Work: I used Steve Morin for my plumbing needs last fall, maybe in October. I was doing some remodeling and had them take care of some shut offs and I had a shower that I had removed. Basically it was some minor stuff but I needed the plumber so that's why I called him and had him take care of it.

We had been hearing "water running through the pipes" for days, but there was no water in the house, and we hadn't left any faucets on. I always turn off the two outside faucets in the Fall. So, we were perplexed. Checking the basement utility room, it was clear that the sump pump was doing it's thing, as water was indeed coming into it. Still, no water in the house. I turned off the main water value, which naturally made the running water noise in the pipe cease. But, we need water, so I turned it back on. Doing so, water started to drip from the valve. Ouch. I called Mike at 9am this morning, left message. He responded within a few hours, and although he preferred to visit on Monday, he soon called back and said he was on the way. Mike listened, checked all over, even in crawl spaces, and deducted that it MUST be outside, despite my confidence that I had shut the outside faucets. Sure enough, although I had hand-tightened the faucet, apparently, as Mike educated me, I made the grave mistake of leaving one of those hose adapters on the frost free faucet. This inteferes with the natural release of water excess, and in our case, in the freezing weather it blew off, and as the faucet is worn, even though I had hand-tightened it, there was still water flowing out (once the adapter blew off). Thanks to Mike, all is well, and we'll be calling him in the Spring to replace our outside faucet(s). [We called Mike first, because he did such a nice job installing our 75-gallon water heater back in 2007.]
Description of Work: Tightened packing nut on main shut off. Found outdoor silcock on and needs replacing. Tightened frost free faucet outside. Eliminated the running water issue.

Our house was built in 1973. We had a leak coming down into our kitchen from our upstairs bathroom. Having just purchased the home last summer, we had a home warranty. The home warranty sent their plumbing company (NOT Michael Beltrami) to look at the issue. That plumber determined it was the toilet leaking due to a bad floor. To be safe, I had him pull up the toilet in the other upstairs bathroom where the floors were done just before we purchased the house. That plumber said the other toilet floor was much worse. He gave me a ballpark estimate of $3000 to cut out the existing toilet flanges, cut open the walls, and several other steps to correct the flange issues. Seeing big dollar signs, I filed a claim with my insurance comapny and called my contractor to come have a look. I set up an appointment for Mike to come by and take a look at the flanges and work with my contractor and insurance claims adjuster to come up with a good estimate/quote for the work. Mike was here first and after pulling the toilet, he said there was nothing wrong with the flange and it should be fine. He took a look at the other flange where there was a leak that will require the floor to be replaced and determined that flange was fine as well. He was shocked by the estimate the original plumber provided. Instead of the $3000+ that I was originally given by the first plumber, Mike pulled and re-set the toilet for $75. Once the floor is repaired, I'll have him back to set new toilets to replace the aging toilets we have as well as take care of a sticky valve.
Description of Work: Mike came out and pulled a toilet up so he could take a look at the flange and give me an estimate on that flange as well as the flange in another bathroom. He also spent some time talking to my contractor and insurance claims adjuster to be sure we were all on the same page. After we were done, he re-set the toilet. Mike was great as he performed the work quickly, stuck to the price he quoted me over the phone, and was patient with the stories the claims adjuster had regarding other plumbing issues. Mike will definitely be my go to plumber!

Excellent service from start to finish. Very impressed with Michael and how well he took care of our old house!
Description of Work: Michael replaces a corroded and leaking toilet drain in our upstairs bathroom. Our house was built in 1916 and nothing in it seems to be "standard." Michael and his helper first found the source of the leak, then had to remove some of the tile in our bathroom to access the drain given that the tile had been set in cement that had been poured around the toilet drain. Michael replaced the old drain with PVC. The tile company that repaired the tile floor was particularly impressed with how careful Michael was in removing the tile as were we. The tile was original to the house and impossible to find anywhere. We were able to re-use many of the pieces. After the tiles was repaired Michael came back and re-set the toilet at no additional charge.

I had two corroded pipe fittings underneath my kitchen sink that needed to be replaced in order to install a new dishwasher. Steve and his crew did an excellent and efficient job replacing everything (they even came a day early in anticipation of inclement weather on the day of my original appointment). In addition to the job I called about they did an ad hoc job while they were here and provided some home maintenance pointers that I greatly appreciated. They were very professional, clean and friendly. I would recommend them for any home plumbing needs.

A Lifesaver for our Family Thanksgiving Dinner! It was the day after Thanksgiving and we were expecting a total of 14 family members at our house for our delayed Thanksgiving dinner (our daughter works in a hospital and had to work on Thanksgiving Day). About an hour before the guests were to arrive, my wife finished peeling potatoes. She removed most of the peels and put them in the trash, but ran the rest down the garbage disposal. Soon the sink drain would not work. My son-in-law and I tried everything to open the drain with a plunger but we only succeeded in making a mess including getting the kitchen sink filled with dark brown water. Besides the mess in the kitchen sink, the dishwater would not be able to be used until the drain was cleaned. It was now after 4 P.M. on a Friday evening and turkey and all the trimmings were ready to be served in about an hour. We were resigned to a hectic meal and a lot of messy clean up -- the dishes could not be washed by hand in the kitchen with the clogged drain. I had previously used the plumbing services of Michael Beltrami and called him in hopes he might be willing to come out on Saturday. I reached his answering service and he quickly called me back and said he could be out in about 30 minutes. He arrived promptly and had the drain working in less than 30 minutes. The next surprise was his bill of only $45.00 for hurrying out to help us out at 5 P.M. on a Friday evening. A big thanks for the great service from Mike Beltrami -- we have used him several times before and highly recommend his services.

Mike and his helper where awesome guys. If you are looking for quality people here they are. They cleaned up after themselves and where done in less time than I had anticipated. I will be keeping his card and sharing with friends and family. The price was less than another plumber in town that I have used. I chose him because he had a gold listing and I know those service providers have higher standards to be listed that way. Thanks Mike It is good to have a friend in the plumbing business.
Description of Work: Mike came out to replace our 75 Gallon gas water heater. I called him on a friday and he came out and gave me a free estimate that same day. I had a slow leak from the top so I chose to have him come out on Monday to do the installation. I came home to meet him from work at 1:30 and when I arrived at 1:20 he was waiting for me. He found that my blow out valve was not plumbed correctly and fixed that also. My gas lines were not attached to the concrete wall by the builder properly and fell off as he was unhooking the gas for the water heater. He reattached them correctly.

I used Angie's List to find a plumber to replace a leaky bathtub faucet. Mr. Beltrami came and quickly fixed the drippy faucet and even wiped out the tub when he was done. He also gave me the discount mentioned in the list. I asked for an estimate in replacing the toilet in the master bath. He told me the price including the new toilet and labor would be $532. We arranged a time and he and another man came and replaced the old toilet quickly and cleanly. I would hire him again when I needed plumbing work.

Michael did a great job. He returned a voice mail message promptly, came out right away to quote the job, and then came out the next week to do the work. Tankless water heaters are all the rage. The technology has been around for years outside the U.S. but it's only gained popularity recently here. The biggest factor for our choosing tankless was space considerations. The old 50 gal heater was in a tight space which made going with a new larger tank heater impractical, so we went with tankless. Here's why I mention this. If you ask a plumber to quote you a tankless heater, you will get estimates all over the place. Be careful who you choose. Michael Beltrami is a good choice.

I have used Michael in the past. This time I spoke with Steve who scheduled a time the following day to go by and review the situation. This is a rental property and the problem had been reported to me by my tenant. Steve called me from the property to discuss the problem and solution. He quoted the price and I authorized him to proceed. He took care of the problem and e-mailed an invoice to me. My interactions with him were all very professional and he was punctual. The tenant reports the work was of high quality. So I am very pleased and will continue to use them for either my home or this rental home.

Steve went above and beyond on all aspects of this outstanding service call. He came to my home within 4 hours after I called to report a problem with my sump pump. He diagnosed that my old sump pump (20+ years) was overheating and failing. Steve recommended that I purchase a replacement battery backup, and even offered to speak with the salesman at Home Depot while I was there, to ensure the proper equiptment was purchased. That was impressive, and appreciated. The next day he arrived to install both the new pump and the new battery backup system. While in my basement Steve noticed that the overflow pipe from the water heater was not correctly installed. He repositioned the pipe and also brought me a new hose from his home and installed it for me so that I can drain the water heater. Steve was courteous, on-time, and went out of his way to provide outstanding service. I appreciate finding a service provider with these values and will definately call him with my next plumbing need.
Description of Work: Replaced old sump pump and installed a new pump and a new battery backup system with new check valves. Steve also rerouted a pipe on hot water heater, performed maintenance on the heater, and gave me a sturdy hose for future maintenance.

Mike was very professional and thorough. He showed me what was causing the leak and explained the repair. I also appreciated that Mike checked the attic to make sure there was not a roof leak causing the water damage on my wall prior to cutting an access panel into the wall behind the shower ,"just in case" it was not the shower causing the damage. Will use again for any plumbing repairs.
Description of Work: I had a leak coming from my shower/tub but was unable to figure out from where it was leaking. The only evidence of water damage was on the drywall outside the shower door. Mike came out with in 3 hours of my call he cut out an access "panel" from behind the shower wall and found the cause of the leak and made the repair, which was caulking around and in the faucet trimplate. The cost of the repair was 105.00 but I was given the Angie's discount of 21.00 bringing the total to 84.00.

Steve alerted us to some potential problems we will have to handle in the future. When ever we need a plumber we will call Steve to handle our plumbing needs.
Description of Work: We had many issues for Steve Morin to deal with. He replaced the silcock in the front and back outdoor faucets. Steve replaced the master bedroom shower drain with a new p-trap. It went very well. The job was as complicated as everyone told us, yet Mike remained upbeat and did what was needed to get the job done. He and another employee finished the job that afternoon, and we are very happy with the work, professionalism, and attitude that they put forth to get the job done!
Description of Work: We needed to replace our main & back up sump pumps, and requested quotes from several plumbers. The area where our sump pit is located is a pretty small space, and we mostly heard rumblings from the first several plumbers about how difficult the job would be. That was due to the furnace installed a couple of years ago that was hanging over the pit slightly and left little room to get back to the pit area. One of the plumbers told us it would be a two-day job. We found Beltrami & Morin on Angie's list, and gave them a call. While Mike Beltrami acknowledged that it would be a squeeze getting back to the sump pit, he didn't complain as the others had, and gave us a quote for the job. The quote was about what we expected to pay for the job. One of the other plumbers had given us a quote for the same sump pumps that was double the price of the other quotes -- and they were the "sister" plumbing company of the HVAC company that installed our furnace!!!

Preparing to replace a couple faucets at home, I ran into a few water shut off valves that had been frozen in place from 40+ years of calcium build up. I called on a Saturday expecting to leave a message and get a call back on Monday. Steve answered right away. I explained that it wan't an emergency and that I wanted to set something up for next week so he put me on the calendar for Monday. Steve arrived with his helper right on time. I showed him what needed to be done and they got right too it. Steve quickly identified a problem with the main shut off valve in the house and told me the additional cost to replace it. Despite a couple very tight spaces under a bathroom sink, Steve got the new valves in pretty quickly. The big expense came outside. When they went to open the valve at the meter, the 40+ year old valve broke. Steve showed it to me and I could see that it was completely rusted out. To prevent paying for city water that was now constantly dripping, they had to dig up some sod and get down to the underground pipes and replace the yolk and valves holding the water meter. This ended up accounting for over half of my bill but was obviously necessary and will save me money in the long run. When everything was done, I was given an itemized invoice and 10% off the final price as a first time customer (without asking). When I need a plumber in the future, I will definitely call Steve.
Description of Work: Replaced 4 "frozen" shut off valves underneath sinks. Replaced main water shut off valve inside house. Replaced exterior shut off valve in yard at the water meter.
