From the first conversation with Todd Cartmel, I felt that my one-room job was just as important as if he was going to work on my entire house. The estimate was within range of the other two that I received; however, it was Todd's attention to detail and the time he spent with me before I even hired him that ultimately made me choose The Painting Edge. Todd visited my house three times to offer color suggestions, explain how the work itself would be done, and to explain how his employees would complete the project. I was able to go out of town and felt completely comfortable with them being in my house while I was gone. Todd called me every afternoon to update me on where they were with the project. John and Andy were the two workers I met and I cannot say enough about their skills and their professionalism. When the job was complete, I was given a few days to look things over. There were a few items that I wanted touched-up. Todd was here the next morning to look at the areas I had identified, agreed that they should be touched up, and had my job scheduled for two days later. The kitchen looks beautiful and I know the job was done right and will last me quite a long time. The job was completed to my satisfaction, on time and slightly under the estimate I was quoted. I don't think anyone can go wrong using this company. I look forward to using them again in the future.

I had some boards that were rotting and he was also able to suggest a good handyman to help with that piece. All of the guys that came were nice, cleaned up and were good to have around.

Description of Work: They painted our guest bedroom and bathroom. They also painted the basement, office and hallway. He did the kitchen and dining room. They filled and caulked the areas that needed. They used a flat, latex coat. They put down cloths as to not get paint everywhere and they cleaned up everything.

 + -1 moreVery well. We have used them before and We'll certainly use them again. Todd and his crew are prompt, courteous, they communicate well, they clean up, they did not affect any of my wife's flowers. Basically, they went above and beyond to get things done right.
Description of Work: All my exterior windows needed work. The paint was cracking and they needed to be caulked. It had been 10 years and so it was time. Also the frame around my front door was starting to look a little shabby. Todd's crew came it took two days for them to sand, scrape and prep the windows and door. Then, caulk, seal and paint them with a good, thick product that should be about as maintenance free as it can be.

The crew was fantastic at cleaning up. We have used this company for interior as well and, we are just as pleased with their work on the exterior. We will definitely use them again when needed.

Description of Work: Todd Cartmel, owner of The Painting Edge, provided a free estimate of the cost, details of the prep and painting process. He came to our home and described what would be done, recommended type of paint to use, and other relevant recommendations. Very thorough, professional, detail-oriented description of the work to be done. Work began on schedule with power washing, scraping, sanding, caulking, priming as needed. Painting was done with brushes and rollers; NO power painters. Great detail to windows. They also stripped and repainted the wood window wells with an oil based paint and made them look new. The crew was friendly, professional, prompt and hard working. The house looks like new! Todd gave excellent day by day updates on progress and rescheduling time when rained out. In addition, because the garage windows were leaking and in bad shape (and we weren't ready to replace windows) Todd recommended caulking the windows in and painting them shut. He used at least 5 tubes of caulk and most of a day's labor to complete the extra work and did not charge us for it.

His ideas to paint to baseboards and fireplace wall helped. He accommodated us by moving his equipment from the garage to the basement so our daughter could have her birthday party in the garage. Description of Work: Painting Edge painted several rooms in our home, including a two story entrance way. The services included much more than just painting. Todd, the owner, came to our home and went through the house for our estimate. He took his time and made several great suggestions. He was very knowledgeable about color selection and offered suggestions on different color ideas. He was super! Then, prior to the start of the job, Todd came in and walked back through the house with us and went over the colors and the plan for preparing and executing each room of the job. One room was especially difficult to choose a color for and he brought poster boards painted with those colors for us to hang around the rooms to see if we liked it, he even dropped one off at my work so I could see it sooner! He is very professional and thorough. He also asked which entrance and bathroom the staff should use, which was so considerate to get this out of the way before the painters arrived. He guaranteed his painter's would be clean cut, in appropriate attire and hard working. He was NOT kidding! The painters were outstanding. There was a main staffer, Floyd, who came each day and he was punctual, diligent and careful. He even entertained the million questions our kids had about his tools and ladders! At the end of the job, Todd came back in and walked through the completed job with me. The service was equally representative of the work that was done! AWESOME!! I am already formulating my next painting project plans!
