Salsbery Brothers Landscaping

We completely redid the front yard. They tore out all the old plants, shrubs, etc. They planted the new ones which we purchased from their company at their weekend sale during which we also received a short, free design consultation with a landscaper during their customer appreciation day. They did a wonderful job, and the yard looks beautiful! We plan to use them again in the spring for our side and back yards.

They did an excellent job. Everyone was pleasant, easy to work with, and professional. I am very satisfied.

Homeowner agreed to leave the bed empty for a full season to allow adequate time for treating before replanting. Ashley left the company, and there was no continuity or follow-up. The bed is still full of thistle and other weeds. When homeowner called Salsbery, Cory claimed the work was a one-time treatment with no expectation of how successful it would be. He did not follow up.

Great. Honest, punctual and quality mulch.

They have been very good. They take good care of me and do good work. Their pricing is good too.

I wasn't actually here when they did the area but they re-put it in and he was very polite and obviously had been and describing my property and so on, so I believed him and he wrote up an estimate. Talked to him on Monday and sent the estimate via e-mail.

Their overall service was just ok. Their representative, Cory Miller, was outstanding though. He was the only reason I stuck with Salsbery to do my lawn treatments. The grass looked ok and was usually weed free other than the occasional dandelions and thistles in the spring months. I was not completely satisfied with that but it wasn't bad enough for me to complain. What was inexcusable was that the company was absolutely unwilling to accept credit card or debit payment for their lawn care services. They were very happy to accept a debit card to pay for the load of mulch that I had them deliver to me but not for my lawn treatments. What company doesn't accept credit/debit payment for a service of this type where they're seldom, if ever face to face with the customer? This was a deal breaker for me. Also, the one time where I actually drove to their office to make payment, they were unfriendly and unprofessional. They didn't even make it easy to pay them at their own location. I'm happily changing to another company for this season.

I stopped in at 4:30pm on Friday afternoon and asked if they could deliver topsoil Saturday. They're morning deliveries were pretty backed up, so the driver came in an hour early so they could deliver before they even opened. Great service. Soil price was a little higher then another place I checked, but service was excellent and worth paying a couple extra dollars.

I was satisfied with their service and pay $50 for each lawn treatment.

They are excellent and the service is great. I would highly recommend them.

Technician arrived (no phone call; without notice). I happened to be home at the time. Met the technician who informed me he was going to do another application for service to two trees in my yard.I asked the technician if there was a charge for this service and he replied, "no is it covered under your previous payment. When the technician finished his work, he let me with an invoice for $90.95.I called the company and they refused to acknowledge my pre-payment for this service. They informed me that the technician never told about the the cost coverage. Very dishonest. I will not deal with this c ompany and will inform my neighbors and anyone who plans on using them to avoid their business.

I spent several hundred dollars and still was left with a irrigation system that required further diagnosis and repairs even after their visit. I with held payment because I was not satisfied only to be threatened with collection action. End result was I ended up with a credit suspension on future repairs and a system that still had issues which of course would require another visit and more service fees to resolve.

No matter what we have them out for they always do a great job. About five years ago we had them out to look at a white pine that we thought needed to be removed. They said they might be able to save the tree. What ever they did worked because the tree is thriving now. There was a scraggly bush in one of our beds and I told them that my husband would take it out for them. They removed it for us and didn't charge for it. I am extremely pleased with their work and the designer is great too. Robin Jones was the landscape designer and she worked closely with us in designing the landscape. We told her exactly what we wanted and she did an amazing job of drawing it up.

On Tuesday, March 13, I placed a phone call to Salsbery Brothers Landscaping to schedule a consultation for issues concerning landscaping and irrigation on my property. The appointment day came, but was canceled by Cory Whistler, who said he didn't work in rain. I understood, but the rain didn't last and I was not given a chance to reschedule. On Monday, March 26, I called to re-schedule, and informed Mr. Whistler that I used a vacation day from my job to specifically see him after agreeing to pay Salsbery Landscaping?s generous $125 consultation fee. Mr. Whistler suggested that we wait until after his Spring Break, around April 9 to reschedule, even after informing Mr. Whistler that I had to take off from work to see him. I asked Mr. Whistler if he could come by on evenings or weekends, and he proceeded to inform me of his children's school schedule. Mr. Whistler did not make any attempts at trying to arrange a mutually beneficial consultation, even after I had demonstrated a clear willingness to go out of my way to meet with him by using one of my vacation days. On March 27, I called Salsbery Brothers Landscaping back to see if I could identify another consultant to come to my house. Instead, I was put on the phone with Mr. Whistler, whom I did not want to speak with, and heard (again) the same excuses as to why he could not schedule a time to see me. Also, the staff at Salsbery Brothers Landscaping seems as if they are put out by answering phone calls or relaying messages. I gathered that Mr. Whistler was not motivated to retain new business; therefore I contacted the owner, Mr. Jeff Salsbery with my grievances. I informed Mr. Salsbery of the aforementioned facts, and he promptly called me to ask for a second chance. I agreed, and he met me for a consultation after hours. The consultation was performed, yet was not informed as to when (if ever) I was to receive a quote. Only after calling Mr. Salsbery four days later on Monday, April 2, I was told I would receive a quote, which was not delivered until Friday, April 6. I called Mr. Salsbery to find out what the next step was, and he informed me that he was having a scheduling meeting on Monday, April 9, and that he would call me to arrange a time to perform the work. Mr. Salsbery asked me for a second chance on March 27, which I agreed to. He did seem genuinely remorseful. However, one month is far too long to wait for services that I presumed I demonstrated a strong willingness to pay Mr. Salsbery for. He conveyed his payments terms to me, and I accepted those. However, I suspect that Mr. Salsbery would not find it acceptable had he had to wait nearly 30 days to receive payment. I also never received a quote for the drainage issues I asked Mr. Salsbery to provide. Consider these facts before calling: 1) No explanation as to why nothing was scheduled on Monday, April 9 when Jeff Salsberry told me it would be. 2) First quote was dated April 2, but did not receive it in the mail until Friday, April 6. Had to call to remind Jeff Salsberry to get a quote. 3) Salsbery Brothers Landscaping lack of response, communication, and regard for clients. In the end, no work was ever scheduled or performed. It?s taken thirty days to finally move on. I gave Salsbery Brothers Landscaping a second chance, and they blew it.

Salsbery Brothers sent two pieces of equipment and two men. They worked fast and efficiently, completing a double pass at right angles wherever possible in no time. They did a nice job of plugging our lawn and were friendly and professional.

My wife and I have used this company for several years for purchasing mulch and various plants in the spring before we do our work in the garden.

They did a magnificant job and we had some other relatively minor things done and the finished project is just stunning!

We have not had any issues. They are punctual and professional.

Took 3 1/2 days ti complete the project. I wasn't home during this process - so my son and I played phone tag regrading some questions. I would suggest the homeowner - or someone who feels comfortable making decisions - be home while the system is being installed. The only hiccup was my not being at home during the process.

I use them every year. I like the ease with which you can order and you can order it online. You just tell them what you want and it is a good product and it is here when you want it. It is simple and easy and it is a fair price. They don't have delivery charges if you order more than 3 cubic yards. Their price is competitive.

Our first interaction with Salsbery Brothers was pretty good; their prices were a little high but seemed professional. When it came time to do the work they arrived on time, were very polite, and did a great job. Toward the end of summer 2010 we had another project to work on, fixing up a dog run. We went into the office and met with a designer who gave us a couple proposals. We decided on one and responded back, ready to do the work, and never heard anything, eventually just giving up. I wanted to get an estimate for mulching this year so I figured I'd try again, submitted a web form through the website, but again no response. They did good work, but seems to be difficult getting a response back lately.

I had not idea what they were planning to install. Additionally, the contact the provided spoke only to landscaping, not to the irrigation system we were interested in. I tried to get additional cdlarity via email; however, it was apparent to me that such information would not be forthcoming. As a result, we decided to work with Controlled Irrigation, who showed the utmost professionalism with the project.

They have a weed control product Cory said can be put on in the rain.

Cleaned up the yard. Put down mulch. Cleared and pruned back branches. Cut back perennials. Cleaned and edged the flower beds. Added fertilizer to the beds.
