The workman were professional, neat and did a fantastic job. It was very obvious that they took pride in their work. They were organized, cleaned up after themselves daily.

I called and requested someone to come out and give a quote to do the required work. As with other contractors, I expected to wait a while for someone to come out to look at the work that needed to be done and provide an estimate. I was very pleased when Mr. Woods came out right away and carefully looked at the areas of the house that needed work and pointed out things that I had not noticed. I expressed that I wanted the mortar to match the color of the mortar of our 20 plus year old house. He said he could get the color to match. Mr. Woods explained in detail what he felt was needed to correct the problems with the house and why he felt the recommended work was needed. Mr. Woods informed me that he would also provide a detailed written estimate of the recommended work. I had new windows ordered and Mr. Woods said to call him after the windows were installed and he would schedule the work on my house then. I chose Ralph Woods Masonry over several other companies. Their estimate was not the highest or lowest. Mr. Woods did an excellent job of describing what was needed to correct the problems with the house. After the new windows were installed, I called Mr. Woods and he had a crew out in less than a week. The work was completed as expected and in a very timely manner. Mr. Woods was at the house while most of the work was accomplished. He answered all my questions about the work being completed. My wife commented that it was refreshing to see someone that takes as much pride in their work as Mr. Woods and his crew. When the work was completed it was extremely difficult to determine the new mortar and brick work from the original mortar and brick work. Since the work was completed, neighbors have come over and commented on the quality of the work and they could not tell where the work had been done. I have already recommended Ralph Woods Masonry to friends. I feel we a professional contractor that provides high quality work and value for the price paid for the work. I will call upon Mr. Woods for any future work needed.

Ralph was responsive and kept me informed regarding scheduling of the job. He matched the mortar of the external brick work. Ralph took precautions to minimize the dust in my house during the work in the basement. The crew did their best to avoid damaging my landscaping. However, I do wish they had been a little more careful when cleaning up the mortar. Overall the job was done well. Their work improved the basement and the exterior of the house.

The workmanship was very good and the crew kept the yard area clean the entire time they were here. It was nice to have Ralph actively involved in the work.

It was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend their services. Ralph was on site every day to make sure the work was done right, his crew was always timely and professional, and they did an excellent job. Furthermore, Ralph has been a true perfectionist and is going to replace a few additional old bricks at no extra cost because he feels as though it will improve the overall aesthetic of the sidewalk and porch.

He was wonderful, easy to work with. Since it was a small job he did it himself rather than send one of his men. I wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Ralph responded very quickly to our email request, came to inspect, and gave his price after describing the work. The men arrived just 3 days later and began work after putting up scaffolding and protecting the roof with carpeting. The only 'blip' in the process was at the end of day 1, when the work materials and equipment created a mess in the yard; I emailed about 8:30 at night, and within 20 minutes, Ralph arrived to clean it all up! He worked past dark to make things right, taking responsibility for the younger men who had left it that way. We were very thankful and very impressed. Then we had rain, rain, rain, but luckily they had protected the work with a huge tarp. The weather finally cleared, and they arrived ready to continue, working all day yesterday and all this morning to complete the work. They cleaned everything up, including washing down the driveway and all areas where the brick and cement dust had blown. The chimney looks great, better than it ever did before, and now with the new properly-designed top, we will not lose bricks to spalling. RhinoShield, another Angie's List find, has promised to come in about 2 weeks to coat the new bricks, free of charge (!) as they coated the entire house 5 years ago. That's also good news. I have photos if I can find where to put them in the report!

The contractor did an excellent job of matching both the bricks and mortar on this old English tutor. He was very prompt, discussed everything he was planning to do. His crew worked very hard. They constructed their scaffolding, completed all the cut-outs in a single day. They did an excellent job with the mortar repairs and tuck pointing. The clean up went well and I'm very happy with the finished result.

Ralph did a very good job cleaning the brick on my home. There was an extraordinary amount of oxidation from my aluminum siding that had bled onto the brick, and Ralph was able to remove much of it. The job came out very well from my point of view. He was very prompt and there were no unpleasant surprises when it came time to pay the bill. Ralph does business the way it should be done. A-Plus.

Ralph is great. Very fair and honest and does a great job. I have a 100 yr old house and he finished 14 windows and got all the interior brick walls looking great with a new coat of sealant. This was a very difficult project for me to determine the best way to accomplish it and Ralph provided great guidance and performed the work quickly and at a high quality.

Ralph removed the crumbling lentil and replaced it. On a Saturday, which worked for my schedule. Even though I feel mechanically inclined, I felt this was more than a one man job. Ralph didn't mind that I came down a couple of times to ask questions and see "how it was going". He took the time to stop and answer all my questions. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy who did the job very professionally and I would highly recommend his services. Also, he cleaned up when he was done. Sometimes contractors just do a token cleaning but he really cleaned up his mess. Thanks Ralph!

Great. Ralph really knows what he's doing and is quite honest about which repairs are needed and which are not. He didn't try to sell me anything that I didn't need. He is licensed and did not give me any hassle at all when I requested a copy of the certificate of proof of insurance as most contractors seem to do. His prices are very fair, and he came out for an estimate the same day that I called him. He was able to start work a couple weeks later and was in constant communication with me about when he would begin. Ralph's employees were all nice and friendly, and they did not mind that my dogs followed them around wanting to play. The work was done more quickly than I expected, and the guys cleaned up after themselves pretty well. They were respectful coming in and out of the house as they worked. I was pleased and would hire Ralph again in the future.

Ralph Woods is an old-school craftsman who does really good work. We had damage to repair from a cement contractor that required replacing several courses of brick next to our front door and constructing a new threshold from brick and limestone. Ralph found brick that matched our 35 year old house and provided a solution that no other company even suggested. We feel completely confident in our repairs and would recommend this company.

Ralph and his team were on time to begin work on both days. His quote was higher than others we received but he definitely seemed to be the most thorough in his walk through and was very knowledgeable about the work that needed to be done. We thought the best choice was to go with him, even though the price was higher. We were happy with the work that was provided and Ralph was great to work with. He matched the brick and mortar perfectly.

Great. On first contact he showed up right away for estimate. We were under some time constraints since we were selling the house. He completed on a timely basis. He was the lowest of three prices by a considerable margin.

I called Ralph to get an estimate on repairing one chimney and too look at installing a top mounted damper on the other chimney. He was extremely busy and asked me to send him an email with my information which I did before thanksgiving. I did not hear from him for weeks. i then called again and he did finally come out to the house and said he would send an estimate by email. I did not receive anything from him. I will be going with another company for repairs.

Mr Woods responded within 24 hours to my telephone inquiry and scheduled a time to come do an estimate within a week. After submitting a proposal and my signing it, Mr Woods told me up front it would be several weeks to a couple months before he could do the work, as he was already committed to several other projects. Within that time frame he was able to call me to schedule and complete the work. He and his assistant were prompt, polite, thorough, and cleaned up everything afterwards. The quality of the work was superb. I highly recommend him!

Ralph was one of the only masonry contractors who would even respond to my inquiry about a small leak in the basement cinder-block wall. He was willing to look at the problem and give me an assessment where most other companies failed to return my call or said the job was too small. He was helpful, friendly and honest. I'll definitely keep him at the top of my list for any future repairs!
