We did not select Mr. Woods company to perform the work because the estimate was double and triple, respectively, the other 2 quotes we received.

He came and gave an estimate which I had by email the next morning. He began and completed the work in the time frame he gave. The work was exceptional and left all areas clean. For example the ground around the patio was filled in after the framing was removed. He was very personable and professional. He wouldn't take payment until the work was complete and done to my satisfaction. I'm very happy and recommend him.

MR. WOODS CAME TO GIVE ME AN ESTIMATE VERY SHORTLY AFTER I CALLED HIS OFFICE. WE ARRANGED A TIME FOR HIM TO DO THE WORK WHICH WAS VERY COVENIENT FOR ME. I DID NOT HAVE TO WAIT A LONG TIME FOR THE WORK TO BE DONE. THE BRICK POST LOOKS AS GOOD AS NEW AND MR. WOODS DID NOT LEAVE ANY CLEAN-UP FOR ME TO DO.

I could not be more pleased with this experience. Ralph worked around my schedule(meaning that he worked over the weekend and came late and left early when I needed him to)was responsive, on time, and for as much as he and his crew were in and out of the house over the course of the three days, stayed as much out of my way as they could while they were in my home. The work itself was well above par and went far beyond my expectations. Ralph clearly knows his stuff and takes great pride in his work, and it showed in the results. My basement will be part of any house tours I give from now on so I can show off his work!

I chose to use Ralph's company a second time because they did such a great job the first time. I was very stressed about this repair until Ralph helped me figure out the problem and fix it so the repairs wouldn't be noticeable. This is our dream house and Ralph helped us keep it that way.

He showed up when he was supposed to but I don't think his work is worth the price.

They came and did the work quickly. They cleaned up well after completion. They did a fine job and I have not had a problem since.

We called Ralph after seeing his reviews on Angie's list. He called me back that evening. I described what I wanted to do, he quoted me the $500 price right there on the phone. I emailed him some pictures. He told me he had a few projects ahead of me. About 2 weeks later, Ralph scheduled to come to my house. He thought he would be out around 10:00. That morning he told me that he was running late, but would still be out. He ended up showing up around noon. That got the job done in a few hours. The time was not a biggie, because he called to let me know. The job was done exactly how I wanted and for the original cost.

Ralph gave us the estimate and began work within 2 weeks. He began by tuck-pointing the foundation of the house from the outside. He then installed glass block windows and did additional tuck-pointing on the interior surfaces of the basement. The work is perfect and he has completely eliminated the problems we were having with the foundation.

I sent him an e-mail and he responded back the next morning. He had someone call me and make arrangements to come out. He got there right on time and was very helpful. He was very courteous and very professional.

Punctual. Received quote quickly. Work commenced in a timely manner. Work completed in two days. I received more than I expected for my money. Job site finishing and clean up were superlative. Very seldom do I get more than I paid for, and this is one of the few times that I did. Recommendation: Extremely high.

The job went very well. We had several areas that needed attention around the home and Ralph pointed out some problems with the adjacent brick wall which we had addressed as well. We still need to have him address some areas on our chimneys, but Ralph told us that the chimney was not as important to address before winter versus the other areas we were looking at. We decided to have come back in the spring to look at the chimneys.

Needed a new chimney to replace an old, came out gave me an estimate and a start time followed thru with both. I can't wait to set up the stove!

Ralph came to my home and gave a verbal quote on site. He is expensive and admits it freely. He probably does great work. We chose another contractor that was more affordable.

Ralph was easy to work with. He came out one day and gave us an estimate and was back within the week to do the job.

It is a one man company and he actually does the work himself. He reminded us of a prior company we had used. He seemed really honest and he was the only company who gave us a guarantee, so that is why we chose him.

In my communication with Ralph I found that he almost always picked up his cell phone. He came by to give me an estimate soon after I called him. The other two top masons listed in this list couldn't schedule me in until much later. One didn't get back to me until a month later. Ralph took a more holistic approach toward the maintenance work that we wanted done on our house. And while his approach was more comprehensive (such as fixing up some other construction issues for the sake of long-term) it felt genuine because it didn't translate into a daunting price tag. He was very authentic. He told me he would be on-site and doing much of the work himself - that was our overriding preference and that is what happened. He took care of the chimney himself while his other two employees replaced the damaged bricks elsewhere. He was attentive to everything we pointed out. He had assured us that he is one who goes beyond the call of duty and I think on the whole he did.

This was a huge job and I couldn't have asked for better subcontractors. They tried to help me keep my job from becoming too expensive by limiting work to only problem areas and went above and beyond to help me find replacement bricks. The pricing was absolutely fair. Ralph and his crew are all very good at what they do because they all have been in the business together for years. Ralph is a third generation mason and he knows what he is doing. He worked often along with his crew but if he had to go out to other jobs he would stop in often to make sure all was going well.

My husband and I recently experienced a leak in the joint of our fireplace and ceiling. At first we thought the leak originated in the ceiling, however after having a company out to look they reported the problem was in the chimney. The company was kind enough to send out someone from their masonry department to look at the damage and give us an estimate. Being new homeowners, we thought it would be prudent to gather more information about the damage and thus more estimates on repair. After searching on Angie's List we found Ralph Woods Creative Masonry and one other company we decided to call. I called Mr. Woods, briefly explained the situation and asked if he provided free estimates. He then explained to me that while he did quality work he was one of the highest rated masons on Angie's List (this I already knew) and thus would be one of the more expensive bidders. Mr. Woods said to me, "I do work for lawyers and doctors on the north side and I just don't want to waste your time or mine." While I commend him for his honesty, I must say I was slightly offended and taken aback at the lack of professionalism rendered in this remark. He assumed, for whatever reason, that we would be unable to afford his work. The conversation ended with him inviting me to call back and leave information about our location if we desired an estimate from his company. After talking with my husband we decided to go with one of Mr. Wood's top competitors - not due to price, but to pure professionalism, quality and people skills.

Excellent! I waited a week to submit this report. After replacing two roofs and flashing, I wanted to see what would happen when it rained. It rained like the dickens this morning and it is tight as a drum!

They do a very good job with the work they perform. They are very hard, industrious workers. They were also very polite and pleasant. They did a nice job bracing my corners. They were also on time.

The job went extremely well. He responded quickly to my telephone calls, walked me through his estimate and started the project on time. His workmanship is excellent and he cleaned up the work area - looks better than before he started. He and his crew are very conscientious and easy to work with.

A little slow on the estimate, but I was very satisfied on the work performed and would recommend you give them a call, especially if you live in an Historical area. They also replaced some brick work in a couple of areas that were quoted only for tuck point.

Ralph replaced cap and several bricks on chimney, stabilized a somewhat cracked garage foundation and repaired several mortar joints on face of house. Repairs look flawless! Ralph was able to get to the work very quickly and does the repairs himself.

My house was originally built with soft bricks about 30 years ago. Ralph was easily able to match the look of my original brick giving my house a well finished look. Ralph was reliable. The price was as quoted. His work was excellent! Ralph was very responsive. He showed up on time as promised and performed with A+ quality. The clean up went very well and he even followed up with me on the completed job. Phenomenal! I will definitely use him again in the future.
