We found Preferred Roofing on Angie's List and decided to call for an estimate. The owner, Dave Zier called us back right away and scheduled an appointment to come out for an estimate. He showed up on time and was extremely professional in terms of taking his time assessing our roof, listening to our concerns and offering solutions that addressed our particular needs. We had other company's show up late, fail to return phone calls, etc. Because this was not an insurance claim and we are admittedly 'picky' homeowners, we were beyond diligent in obtaining several bids, doing our homework and finding someone who we felt comfortable with. Dave returned every phone call (same day) and was patient with our long list of questions. it was clear he was knowledgable about using the right materials and adhering to proper installation procedures. Once we decided to hire him, he prepared the estimate and hand-delivered it the next day. Dave is responsive yet never obtrusive. He is the Nordstrom of customer service and goes the extra mile. In our case, we had two priorities: Good customer service and good installation. Dave exceeded our expectations by allowing me to ask questions and was not bothered when I climbed up on the roof twice to check on the workers and make sure my "extras" were getting done--and, they were. They were a little shocked but I felt reassured the job was going as described to me. Dave has all the material delivered to your driveway the day before the job starts so it is very transparent that you are getting exactly what you paid for. You don't pay until the job is done. Dave comes by personally every morning to supervise and check in with the homeowner. This was so helpful in terms of being well informed of the game plan and being able to plan one's day accordingly. Dave has an excellent job supervisor (Ken) on site the entire time . When questions came up, Ken was there. But, customer service is "lip service" unless the installation is solid. Dave's crew was excellent. Because I did alot of upfront research, I learned a little about roofing technique and was able to see that his men were doing everything they were supposed to do. Every exisiting skylight was re-flashed with ice and water and sealed tight. Our roof has a low point were two slopes converge into a flat valley--that area got a full coverage of ice and water shield--not just the perimeter. We had some water intrusion and mold in the attic and Dave was very helpful in allowing my remediation company jump in and spot clean an area that would have been inaccessible had his crew re-roofed it. Most other company's would probably keep moving but Dave is conscientious. The attention to detail was evident and even though the crew worked swiftly, they did not cut corners. Additionally, the crew was respectful and almost ghost-like. They just went up and worked and left each day without leaving a mess, without playing loud music and without causing any unnecessary disruption. I would highly recommend Dave Zier. We are very pleased! Now, bring on the rain!

The whole process took 2 days and preferred worked quickly and completely being careful of out side plantings. Cleanup was excellent.

Dave was very personable, knowledgeable, and professional. We enjoyed working with him, and felt that he was respectful of our ideas and eager to provide us with top quality materials and labor at a VERY fair price. Dave's crew was amazingly hard-working, highly skilled, respectful, and focused. Not only did they do an outstanding job on the roof and siding, but they worked equally as hard cleaning up afterward and restoring our yard to its previous great condition. All nails, old shingles, paper, debris, water bottles, etc. were cleaned up and the crew was meticulous about going through the bushes, grass, and around the foundation looking for stray odds and ends. In all, we were really very impressed with the whole experience and absolutely delighted with the finished product. Our roof is beautiful and expertly done. I would hire Dave and his crew again, without hesitation. Next time, however, I will remember to ask them to extend an awning or some such device to get the old shingles further out into the yard as they come sliding off the roof. Some of our bushes got a little damaged, though they have since mostly recovered and will certainly be fine when they bloom again next spring.

It was easy. Dave contracted all the needed work and supplies, we didn't have to worry about anything. I was very thankful! They were on time, they were quick, used good materials and they were professional!

They were very professional and punctual. They called the day before to let us know that they would be installing the roof the next day. The owner came several times to check on the work. The worked very hard all day. They were not done so they came the next day and finished the work. They made sure they picked up all the nails. They cleaned up after themselves very well.

After I signed the authorization they contacted the property management and arranged with them and the tenant when they were installing the new roof and gutters. They cleaned up well all the nails and debris. They finished the roof in one morning with a big crew and then another day they came to install the gutters and gutter guards. The sales person (Mark Fox) kept me informed at all times of the process and when things got done. They are very professional, responsive and punctual. Happy with them. This is the second roof and second set of gutters they put on for me.

The owner, Dave Z., came to my house and explained their services. I was very impressed with Dave, he's easygoing, caring and an all-around nice guy. Dave gave me an estimate within a few days. Although another company provided a slightly lower estimate, I really wanted to do business with Preferred Roofing. I called Dave to come to my home so that we could discuss costs. I showed him the estimate from the other company. Dave met the price of the other estimate. On March 12th, the crew was at my home bright and early at 7:00 a.m. By the time I got home from work at 4:30, the roof was done and they were cleaning up. I couldn't believe it was done so quickly (35 squares). Two days later the gutter crew came to do the gutters and downspouts. They said "Haven't they done your roof yet?" I told them that it had been done two days prior. They said they didn't think it had been done yet because the ground looked so clean (thanks to the great clean up effort by Dave's guys). The roof and gutters look great! I'm so pleased with the company that I'm having them do some siding repair for me too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Preferred Roofing!!

Overall, I am very pleased with the company adhering to scheduled appointments - 3 appraisals, 1 agreement meeting - with pricing, and roof replacement (resheduled 1 day due to rain delay, but promptly advised of adjusted schedule. Truly cared job site was fully picked up and quality job completed, including upgraded shingles, venting system, ice system and drip edge match.

They crew did a great job and looked very insync. I actually found them d*** another roofing job in my neighborhood. They were clean, precise, and the clean up was great. They paid attention to detail. They applied a drip line to my roof too. I was very impressed with their work in general.
